Week 02 Introduction This week has been a bit of a struggle. Had my first experience dealing with slime and brown algae. But I think adding enzymes and increasing the beneficial bacteria helped to fix the issue. Also experienced nutrient burn for the first time. My nutrient solution strength got as high as 671 PPMs. So backed it down to about 430 PPMs during the end-of-week reservoir change. Also cut Hydroguard (expired?), CaliMagic, and Superthrive from this grow. Now she's still stunted, but is starting to recover. Hopefully... [START OF WEEK 02] Day 01 - Monday - 08/10/20 - Total Days: 008 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Still looks a bit yellow. But getting larger! --- Solution strength was at 248 PPMs. --- Just topped off with a bit of distilled water --- PH went up to 6.1 so PH'd down to 5.8 --- Ran the top feed for a bit to wet the hydroton. - [2130]: She's looking even more yellow now. --- Even the new leaves are really yellow. --- Decided to add more base nutes. --- Added 4ml of Sensi A --- Added 4ml of Sensi B --- Now at about --- Solution Strength went up to 304 PPM. --- PH was at 6, --- Also raised the water level a bit more. --- I really hope it's a nutrient deficiency and not an over-watering issue. --- Please live! But still yellow. --- Decided to do a reservoir change. --- 4.5gal of distilled water --- 8ml of Sensi Grow A --- 8ml of Sensi Grow B --- 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- 4ml of B-52 --- 4ml of CaliMagic --- 4ml of Hydroguard --- 4 drops of Superthrive --- PH'd down to 5.8 --- Solution strength: 302 PPM --- Since I didn't want to risk over-watering the rockwool, I did not to do a top feed, may do one tonight after the sleep cycle (lights are still set to go off at 10am and back on at 4pm). --- As I was doing a reservoir change, I noticed that the tubes and bucket were a bit slimy. Didn't really stink or anything. Is this normal? Maybe due to the Hydroguard and Voodoo Juice? --- I hope she gets better soon! - [2215]: Getting larger! But still yellow. --- Also can see a root growing through the net pot! Tiny little thing but it's there! Will have to start dropping water once more appear. --- After looking over a few DWC diaries using AN nutes, seems like my solution strength is still too low. Most around this stage average around 500 PPMs with about 4ml per gallon. --- Top fed for a minute to wet the top of the hydroton. --- Solution strength went down to 263 PPM. --- Added 8ml more of Sensi A --- Added 8ml more of Sensi B --- Now base nutes are at 16ml for 4.5 gal of water. --- PPMs went up to 411. --- Still lower than 500 PPMs, but that's okay. --- PH was at 6. Not sure if I should adjust PH using AN nutes. So going to not ajdust unless PH goes above 6.1. Day 03 - Wednesday - 08/12/20 - Total Days: 010 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looks like more root growth! --- She still looks yellow. But leaves are perky. --- PH was at 6.2 so lowered down to 5.8. --- Solution strength was at 394 PPMs --- Since roots are still growing, I decide to lower the water level a bit. Now water level is a bit below the net pot. - [2200]: Root is getting longer! --- Slime is returning. Not sure why. --- Solution strength: 357 PPMs --- PH: 6.1 --- Decided to add an enzyme along with more beneficial bacteria to hopefully cure the slime. --- Added 16ml of Sensizym --- Added 5ml of Hydroguard --- Added 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- New solution strength: 430 PPMs --- New PH: 6.1 --- Top fed for a minute. --- This slimy residue is really freaking me out! I hope the added enzymes will help eliminate the slime. --- Going to do a full reservoir sterilization/nutrient change over the weekend. Please survive until then girl! Day 04 - Thursday - 08/13/20 - Total Days: 011 ----------------------------------- - [0930]: I think the enzymes worked! There is little to no slime now! --- Although I think the root was also dissolved in the process. It's now just a little stub sticking just below the net pot. The enzyme is also suppose to dissolved dead roots too but guess that root was too weak? Not sure what happened there. But I think the slime is cured! --- Solution strength went down to 395 PPMs. Decided to add more base nutrients. --- Added 8ml of Sensi A --- Added 8ml of Sensi B --- Added 4ml of B-52 --- Solution strength went up to 598 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.1 --- As long as the PH is between 5.5 and 6.3, I'm not going to use PH Up or Down. But still will monitor PH levels. - [1715]: Checked up on her after her nap and shes looking alive but stunted. But no slime! --- Decided to add some sugars to help maintain the enzymes and beneficial bacteria. --- Solution strength was at 587 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.2 --- Added 8ml of Bud Candy --- Solution strength went up to 671 PPMs. --- PH also went up to 6.3 --- Lowered water level a bit to hopefully promote more root growth. --- Top fed for a minute. --- She is getting bigger, but still looks yellow. Day 05 - Friday - 08/14/20 - Total Days: 012 ----------------------------------- - [0915]: Leaves look a little burnt on the tips. Still no slime. --- Going to back off on the PPMs to hopefully fix the nutrient toxicity. --- Solution strength was at 632 PPMs --- PH was at 6.3 --- Added/Removed water until PPMs were at 536. --- PH was still at 6.3 --- Raised water up a bit, then top fed for a minute. - [2200]: Looking better. Still yellow though. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 6.5 --- Added PH down. --- New solution strength: 518 PPMs --- New PH: 5.2 --- PH was kind of high. So decided to PH down. Had to use quite a bit to bring it down. But eventually got it to drop down to 5.3. A little low, but so far, the PH has always gone up so wanted to start it really low. --- Ran the top feed for a minute to re-saturate the top of the hydroton. Day 06 - Saturday - 08/15/20 - Total Days: 013 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: She looks stunted. leaves are still yellow. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 5.6 --- Top fed for a minute. --- Not sure what to do at this point. Going to do another reservoir change soon. Hoping she lives until then. - [2145]: Looking pretty much the same. --- A bit of slime has returned. Since I've been diluting the nutrient solution, the enzyme ratio has dropped. So I guess this is expected. --- Also noticed that slime build up was on the air-stones. Never really checked the stones so not sure how long that has been there. Looks brown too, which can't be good. --- Going to do an H202 sterilization of the system (minus the net pot) tomorrow so did not add anything. --- Lowered the water level to below the net pot. --- Then top fed for a minute. Day 07 - Sunday - 08/16/20 - Total Days: 014 ----------------------------------- - [0900]: STERILIZATION DAY! --- Decided to skip today's night cycle for a deep clean. --- I'm hoping that skipping a night cycle won't be too stressful. --- Temporarily moved her to a new bucket. --- Used about a half of gallon of straight distilled water to flush out the net pot. --- Drained the system and wiped up all the brown sludge. Also removed the air stones and cleaned up all the goo. --- Filled the system with 2 gallons of distilled water and at least 30ml of food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% strength). --- Yea its a lot, but since I'm not going to sterilize the system overnight, I went with a really high doseage. Basically I kept adding until I started to see little bubbles start to form. --- Then I ran the water pump. - [0915]: Boiled the air stones in tap water for about 10 min. Then reconnected them to the airlines. --- I let the air stones and hose soak in the sterilization solution for about 5 minutes so the peroxide can absorb into the stones. Then ran the air stone to help mix and agitate the solution. --- Occasionally, I'd repeat the process of turning the air pump off for a few minutes to let the stones soak. - [1000]: Covered the top two row of holes of the net pot with some aluminum tape. Hopefully this solves the light leaking in through the hydroton. - [1200]: Used an old toothbrush and scrubbed the pump clean. Then drained the system. --- Refilled with more distilled water and peroxide. Again added a lot. --- Ran system again to sterilize even more. - [1530]: Drained the system and refilled with distilled water to rinse. --- Ran the system for a few minutes, then drained and rinsed again. --- Did this a few more times over about an hour. - [1630]: Added 4 gallons of fresh distilled water. --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow A --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow B --- Added 12ml of B-52 --- Added 16ml of Voodoo Juice --- Added 16ml Sensizym --- Solution strength was at 430 PPMs --- PH was at 5.6 --- I was going to add Hydroguard, but I think the bottle is expired. Since 2017 or 2018!? I think Hydroguard is good for up to 2 years from the date on the bottle or 6 months after opening. So not going to use from now on. I wonder if this could have contributed to the slime build up. --- Also removed the CaliMagic and Superthrive too. Going to only use AN products to eliminate the chance of incompatible nutrients. --- Placed her back in the bucket and top fed for a minute. --- Here's hoping for the best. Stretch is finally done and flowers are piling on now! I treated with lost coast as a preventative. I kept the feed the same but it will be altered end of grow week. Canopy is getting hella full can't wait to watch these colas stack on. Did a clean up of the underskirt. Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.

8/10 Hurried morning. Today was water day and the hose fucked up. Dad got it working while I filled half the jugs needed with water and the requisite amount of plant doctor. I gave the preventative dose (which is 1/2 tsp per gallon but I upped it closer to 1 tsp per gallon) on the plants that have received the three full treatments, the 10th planet in the middle and the chemdog. The rest received their last full dose. I had watered the NATURAL mk ultra and other tenth planet yesterday so I'm waiting until tomorrow when the need water to give them their treatment. Other than the 10th planet I'm worried things are going pretty good. Tjat's probably tine too. I certainly wouldnt have even noticed it a few years ago. I only bought like half the amount of soil as last year and really tried keeping costs down. These aren't the biggest plants I've grown but I'm grateful for what I have. I'm working hard to get the most out of them I can. I'm planning to give it a few days and then feed later in the week. EDIT: I THINK I got my grow question deleted. Finally. It's strange that I didn't get ONE outdoor growers response. Doesn't matter. I figured out the best course of action. I'm lucky. Or maybe I just work hard. I defoliate twice a day. I have some pruning to do on the interior of a COUPLE plants. I've cleaned them up pretty good this year. No signs of ANY wpm which is great but suprisinging considering the rh and the rolling fog most mornings. 8/11 I gave the tenth planet in the back and the mk ultra I didn't get yesterday. The mk ultra got the preventative dose (upped from 1/2tsp to 1tsp) and the 10th planet tge full dose. I'll have to check but I think this is the last cure dose for everyone. Found a pillar INSIDE a bud on the special kush that's far ahead. Then you can see on the video a HUGE cut worm or something on the branch I pull down. Luckily I saw it. Wasn't there when I got back but it took a few bites. Looked on the camera and saw a bird swoop in and grab him. Thank the lord! It's going to be 100° today and tomorrow with heat advisory in effect. I'm going to have to treat these plants for pests/pillars some how. I might just use BT and my super alkaline water. The septoria is under control and I'm just afraid spraying anything would make things worse. I'm certainly jot going to let them eat my early flowering plant. I can't apply ANYTHING in this heat. I'll research and maybe if it gets low enough tonight I might be able to do something. I'm going to go back over and check that plant going branch by branch. That one 10th planet tgat WAS the biggest plant is severely stunted amd has some "strange" looking leaves. I wasthinking about getting it off property or just chopping and burning but I figure it's been in there long enough that the others could be infected. I think it spreads through pests if that's the case then it might be better to get rid of it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'm going to stop and try to get some mulch today. EDIT: I found a place I can get a bale of straw and I think I'll use that to mulch. It's almost a 100°. After killing the pillar this morning and missing that cutworm I came back over to REALLY look at the special kush in later flower. I looked through every branch and every bud. I found four pillars on that plant. No REAL damage yet and extremely small. I had to pull buds apart to find them. It's like they were hiding from the heat. That was miserable hand picking them in 100° degree weather. Luckily the bird feeders are close but the bigger birds chase the smaller ones. The smaller birds have found a new food source and perch on my cage waiting. I'm leaning towards treating the flowering plant with BT-k. Seeing that tge citric acid WON'T kill fungus I'll just use OUR super alkaline water and hope for the best. Nothing will get treated during this weather. 8/11 IT reached 105° yesterday and I had a family medical emergency. Came over this morning to several plants drooped right over despite me checking MD day and them being fine. Phone dodnt charge so I couldn't get pictures. Watered everything but the ones that got it yesterday cause they looked good and still had weight. I had to leave before the ones that were down could pick back up. The kush plants seem to tolerate this heat much better. Beside the ones in the 10s tge others are taking this hear fine. I'll update when I get back.

La #ChocolateMintOg 1 solo es porra principal, pero parece tirar bien de resina. La #Gorilla está por ver, pero también tiene un olor peculiar desde hace semanas.

Blüte Woche 8 Die Pflanzen entwickeln sich mega In dieser Woche habe ich denn EC wieder von 3,0 auf 2,5 heruntergesetzt. Bei der Pflanze hinten Rechts gibt es keine weiteren Verschlechterungen oder Verbesserungen zu erkennen, aber sie entwickelt sich auch weiter, nur langsamer und anders :-). Trichome (THC) entwickelt sich sehr heftig.

3 weeks down and this girl is finally (but slowly) coming into her own. I'm hoping now her fan leaves are getting a bit bigger she'll start to take off. As for environment, today I've turned the ventilation fan on 24hrs with no breaks. I started getting paranoid that hour on hour off is not doing them any favors and I'm just gonna have to suck it up and bare the brunt of the power bill. This will also drastically reduce the RH, which I'm not totally sure of the effects it will have on the girls. Low RH has got to be better than RH too high, right? 🤷‍♂️

48 hours in wet paper towel, after to the coco peat pellet. the pellets really expand, hydrate them first. I am not trying to be an example of coco medium, this is my first time working with it, diary for documentation. Once I had a good menu of nutrients I started to look at the coco. spent a good couple of weeks with free time to read about the coco, not as easy as prepared potting soil but a few have said it is good results once you get the hang of it. so i am set to go. I also have one seed from a retail cannabis package. It is from GAGE - Strawberry fire OG, Packaged AUG 2020, Purchased Sept 2021. One seed inside. I will see, it is in the wet paper towel at the moment. thanks and best to you's' day 7 from number one sprout: I am omitting the pH down 2 feedings now, little yellow tone in the first two seedling, going to balance straight forward from now on. number one seedling has now pushed up, ready for calmag tomorrow , number two is 7 days on thursday but looking like a good push start still a bit tall although straight. i will be rotating calmag - root booster for the first week of feeding. the pH down is a powerful concentrate, 6.5 to a hard 4 with a few drops in a 4L. wow! so I am using one 4L as a pH down to get a rusty orange (that is on pH water drops for the feedings). I have not tested but I think the root booster and calmag will pH down as is, so I am looking to pre-mix each in separate 4L. (20-12-21 4:20PM) ** interesting observation - I am used to wet paper towel to (as some say ) "pop the seed" which in my experience results in a tail like growth, (that is a few drops of water on seed between paper towel between saucers). but with a cup of slightly warmer than room temperature water covered in foil, the result was a seed split down the middle like a clam looks. ok thanks! - number three was germinated in cup of water.

Hi Growmies~! What This Post is About Today, I'll be recording how to cultivate soil microbes at home. These microbes offer numerous benefits, and they are simple to make. How I Came Up with This Technique Since 2014, I’ve tried synthetic growing methods like DWC. While they gave quick results, I often ran into issues with consistency. Nutrients would expire during breaks, meaning I had to keep buying new bottles. I strongly felt I needed a change. A couple of years ago, after taking a break, I started to research and switched to organic growing. At first, it felt overwhelming with all the steps and prep work, but I saw real potential. After experimenting with different methods, I came across Korean Natural Farming (KNF) and JADAM, introduced by Mr. Cho. His simple, ultra low-cost techniques inspired me. They focus on letting nature do the work. While growing, I noticed that synthetic nutrient bottles were expensive, especially when trying to complete a full nutrient set. Organic growing may require more attention and can be costly when investing in organic materials. Preparing the soil in advance and top dressing with dry nutrients every other week - just these two methods were consuming space, time, and money. Indoor farming is unnatural, while organic farming is a natural approach. I had to bring these ideas together, but organic farming often seems geared toward large plots like farms. Incorporating organic techniques into my indoor garden requires a lot of effort and careful calculations. So this is one of my techniques for keeping my plants happy: supporting their daily needs helps them snap out of deficiencies quickly, allowing them to grow consistently. It took me a while to adapt this technique for indoor use. I hope this helps, guys! Supplies Needed - Potatoes: Provide nutrients and food for the microbes. - Sea Salt: Stimulates microbial activity and controls harmful organisms. - Dechlorinated Water: Allows the microbes to grow and multiply. - Compost, leaf mold, or worm castings: Contains natural microorganisms that are key for this process. How to Make (1 gallon) 1 cooked potato (about 2 golf ball-sized) 1 pinch of sea salt 2 tablespoons compost or worm castings 1 gallon dechlorinated water 1. Mix Ingredients: In a clean container, fill it with the dechlorinated water, dissolve the sea salt, and add the compost along with the mashed potato. 2. Ferment: Optionally cover the container and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours. 3. Strain (Optional): After fermentation, you can strain the solution if you prefer a clearer liquid. Note: Watch the timelapse video to see how the microbes activate! **WARNING** Wear gloves if possible and/or avoid contact with open wounds How to Use IMPORTANT: Always dilute the solution before applying it to plants. - Use when bubbles form a "pizza shape" on the surface. - Dilute 5-10 ml per liter of water for bi-weekly feeding. (Test a small batch first to find the best rate for your setup.) - Once the bubbles disappear, the microbes are likely inactive. You can either mix the rest with water as fertilizer or discard it. Pros Promotes Plant Growth - Usually fixes deficiencies in as little as 6 to 72 hours. - Improves nutrient absorption, and helps plants thrive. Boosts Plant Immunity - Works as IPM: Can be used as foliar sprays (no staining on leaves). - Lowers the risk of powdery mildew and other diseases. - Helps the soil ecosystem with beneficial organisms like predatory mites and springtails. - Naturally reduces pest pressure (Less risk of fungus gnats and other pests). Improves Soil Health & Supports Composting - Quickly breaks down organic matter and nutrients. - Makes growing organically in small containers, like 1-gallon pots, easy. - Over time, soil becomes softer and richer, even in small pots. Cost-Effective, Sustainable & Eco-Friendly - No need for complex equipment like pH pens, air pumps, or other tools. - Reduces the need for CalMag, N-P-K, or micronutrient supplements (just add a little bit of sea salt to every watering). - No sugar sources needed in the soil. - Works for all types of plants—houseplants, exotics, ornamentals, and crops. Well it been a week since the move indoors and she is just getting accustomed to the new surroundings. Things took a couple days pause and had no growth for the first few days but she seems to have finally started to fatten up her flowers again. She is drinking about a third less water than before but maybe that will pick up some more as well since her flowers are getting bigger. She is pretty sparse in terms of vegetation so will only remove leaves on a must need basis only. Watered her this morning and she received a low dose of calmag and bloom nutrients ( King Kola) by Emerald Harvest so should see an increase in flower size shortly. Have been increasing the duration of light each night and am currently at 18/6 have been toying with the idea of going to 20/4 and beyond to get the DLI up into flowering requirements. We are stuck at 450 PPFD so I don’t think I can her too many hours of light per day. I will be watering the other two girls later today with a update for them also. Harvey Wallbanger. Miss Harvey is recovering well. Every day is better than yesterday and the past forty eight hours have been very good with her flowers starting to grow again. Trichomes and terpines have started to show up and she is going to be very sticky and have a pleasant sweet aroma. There are already fan leaves covered in trichomes and we have only just begun the process of flowering. She lost so much during the assault. She was going to be truly special. Maybe she will still be special we will see. Vanilla Fizz. Ms. Fizz, alive and well. Had us scared for a while as she was slow to respond for a couple of days, no growth after her assault and subsequent relocation took its toll on her but happy to see things have turned around for her and now even doing better than expected. Prayers help. Flowers are growing and she has a certain perkiness to her that is inspiring after all that she’s been through. She is a bushy girl and removed a fair amount of foliage and will need to do some more later on some here some there. Trichomes and terpines arrive and are in abundance for both. Everything is covered in trichomes even fan leaves and smells like my Uncle John’s vanilla French toast and my Aunt Shelly’s Guava jelly, amazing!

Calyxes are stacking and getting fat outside. Definitely in prebloom Indoor plants are still adjusting to grow lights so I'm gonna give them a few more days Day 1 of flower for indoor is august 9th
