We're expecting a scorching summer here in northwestern Europe, so I figured I'd try my luck with a small outdoor run 😎 I received several free seeds from Fast Buds, so I decided to pop a 1-pack of Strawberry Gorilla. I picked up a small €20 greenhouse and went with a fabric pot filled with a homemade garden mix: 70% orchid potting mix, 15% clay pebbles, and 15% all-purpose potting soil. Germination in a peat pellet only took 3 days. That small layer of inert peat will act as a buffer between the seedling and the substrate during the first couple of weeks. For now, she's getting nothing but plain water with a little Voodoo. So far, she seems to be adapting really well. After the first 7 days, I haven't seen any signs of early nutrient burn. For pest control, I'm keeping things nature-based: companion planting with cherry tomatoes and basil, both of which help repel different kinds of pests. And of course, a few sticky traps for the more adventurous visitors 😏

week 11 whole tuesday i am advancing the total cycle of this purple plant in a few days i will try to cut the 22nd day to close 90 days 2 and a half weeks after the rinse. is counting the day when the other plant was placed in the water to germinate. the other plant will update it until the end of the week. Son 2 plantas de esta genetica. Una es mas vigorosa que ptra, pero son muy similares en cuanto a su fenotipo. En esta semana ya notamos el engorde que se viene propiciando luego del overdrive. Tratamos de a poco ir bajando la EC para llegar 0.0 en el corte. La luz sigue baja procurando mantener una buena seleccion de terpenos y resina.

Res change at day 29. Have to lower nitrogen a bit cause its clawing and pretty dark. Otherways everything is just fine and it grows nice. Ad calmag 5ml to 20L.

Day 40-47 (May 31st- June 7th) (Day 41) For the first time in this grow these plants are looking halfway decent. Smell is ramping up too. I finally feel optimistic about this grow. (Day 42) The two jacks and the chunky blueberry are showing early signs of N/Mg deficiencies. I know it’s late in flower but since I’m experimenting with this tent, I’m going to give them one final feeding of nature’s pride 2-5-5.5 (tbsp) along with a teaspoon of oyster shell flour and some rock dust. Everything else I’m going to give a teaspoon of rock dust and oyster shell. There is no way these amendments will fully break down in time to be used by the plant but they could at least use the pH buffering and trace amounts of minerals after their recent leach. Everything but the BAOGC is covered in pistils that don’t really match their bud size. I hope they fill into their pistils because an over abundance of hairs drops the bag appeal like crazy. Over the last few cycles, indoor and outdoor, I’ve definitely learned that different strains and phenotypes mature at different times. Sometimes really radically too. (Day 43) None of the plants are fading at all but they’re still looking good. Black garlic I know should be fading but remains dark green and toxed. I popped a developing seed out of the main bud too. I wonder if that blueberry herm branch pollinated it at all. It seems like plants don’t really like that Destiny dark matter soil by itself. I find it works better mixed with coco or promix 1:1. (Day 44) I’m starting to think I might be mixing up the TWOG and BAOGC. BAOGC took forever to fatten up last round and the 2 phenos I suspected already look done. I was thrown off by the similar terps. The beauty phenos are definitely TWOG (Day 45) God these Jack Herer’s smell good. Nothing but fruity funk. Almost like a vanilla or blueberry yogurt. I would say this stuff has the most overpowering smell in the tent now. I’ve noticed they’re starting to foxtail like crazy. Blueberry#1 too. I’m watering a final low strength feeding of seaweed extract on everything. (Day 47) Everything really fattened up this week. Even at the beginning of the week I was saying I didn’t think they would fill out. Jack Herer and BAOGC specifically made some big gains and nearly doubled their density and still have quite a way to go on them too! The smell has ramped up and finally, everything is looking happy and healthy.

Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of flowering. Everything is going good here. The plants have had 2 good watering's with just water, to use up that extra nutrient that is in the soil. It's not enough food for the plants left in the soil, so they start pulling some of their sap from the fanleaves and the leaves go yellow. The buds are sure bulking up now. They are twice as big as they were 2 weeks ago. One more week of flowering. then a couple of days of dark and then harvest. Seeing as this is my first grow, I’m still learning to read the plant and know what’s going on. Think I’ve developed some fairly advanced leaf septoria. Might not be bad enough to affect the end result, but I’m pretty clueless, so I put up a question about it. Hoping to hear back from more experienced growers about what I’m looking at. Going on week 7 of flower, week 6 if we’re going off of the first pistils, when the breeder recommends 8-9. So I know I’m coming up to the end of things. Cutting back on nutes due to some burnt tips. Not any substantial amount, but put EC on the lower side of the range that GH recommends for its stage in life. Buds smell amazing and seem to be developing great IMO. Had to tie a few down to bring the canopy all to one level again. Didn’t think that sticking my arm down the leaves for 2 seconds worth of tie wrapping would make my arm hair all super sticky for hours. Lol. Every experience is a good learning experience for my first grow.

This week was a good recovery week, after this previous disaster at the beginning of the week. They took about 3 days to bounce back. I had to defoliate pretty heavily. You can't tell 4 days later that I did. I wanna avoid defoliating too often, as these poor buggers are already stressed. I think in about 3 days I will see if they stop growing in height, when they do... I will defoliate again. All for all, I'm pretty happy that they bounced back so well. I also have upped the EC a touch to 1.5 this week, and I'm only seeing the tiniest hint of tip burn. So I think they are at the max before it starts to really burn them. The rate they are drinking, its a struggle to keep the mix at 1.4.
