Not much to say about the GG#4 at this time, will update in about two weeks with dry weight/flavor/smoke info. Overall I am happy with this strain and how it grew. Update June 19, 95 grams dry bud. Very impressed with the bud size, density, color and stickyness. First smoke impression is hints of fruit and citrus, sweet aroma and flavor. Very mellowing high, just feel like relaxing on the couch with a large pizza lol 😁

The first week of 12/12 light schedule is over and the stretch is on. Most of these plants are getting huge. I gave each plant a 10 gallon flush and fresh nutrients. Upped the maxibloom a little and increased the reservoir volume to 25 gallons since I won't be around to check on them this coming week. I am thinking we should have some pistils popping on the next update. Nutrients are pumping 24 hours a day. Excited to see how these start to frost over the next few weeks.

Week2 Day 1- 08/19/2023 Weekly Maintenance- Non-Water change week Added .5mil/gal of TPS SILICA Gold = 39 gallons X .5 = 19.5mil = 20mil add She really does look great today. More roots are finding their way out of the basket and into the water, looks like where I topped her the side stems are growing out nicely. Humidity is still running just a little low, I am making sure I keep a close eye on the humidifiers and added more water as needed. Week2 Day 2- 08/20/2023 She is doing Amazing!! Her roots are in the water and she is starting to form a little ball, the leaves are doubling in size and spreading out. Overall happy with how this grow is going thus far. Lots of Prayers for it staying this way the entire grow. Week2 Day 3 - 08/21/2023 I am very happy with her growth she is absolutely exploding, the main leaves are almost as big as my palms now, and the root ball is starting to form very nicely. She overall looks really happy to me. Week2 Day 4 - 08/22/2023 WoW!! Checked on her today and she looks like she doubled in size she is doing amazing in the environment. I had did do some Topping today and that was about it. Week2 Day 5 - 08/23/2023 She is looking amazing to me. Really proud of her and her growth. Week2 Day 6 - 08/24/2023 Not much to report today, her growth is going great. I topped her in three spots. Looks nice and comfortable, Saturday Water Change Day. Tomorrow I will get all of her end of week measurements for height and all. Week2 Day 7 - 08/25/2023 Week 2 is officially in the bag, she is already at 8 inches. 4-6 weeks left depending on continued growth until we switch her to flower.. we will see how it goes but she is looking amazing and the root structure is looking great! Humidity is still a little low I added water to the Humidifiers and adjusted the input air flow down slightly. I also turned on the 4th fan to increase circulation in the tent.

WEEK 8 This week I had to remove a few pollen sacs again, but I caught them in time. For now, it has stopped producing that crap. I hope it stays that way. Otherwise, it’s looking fairly decent. The shoots will definitely need support in the future, as they’re rather thin and very long. This strain is not exactly ideal for small grow spaces. I’m already beyond my limit here, since I didn’t expect such a big stretch. Unfortunately, the motivation has dropped a bit because of the high number of male pollen sacs, but I still hope something good will come out of it. If not, I’ll just make Ice-o-lator out of it. The plant permanently halts vertical growth from that main stem and immediately sends its energy and hormones to the two new, evenly spaced branches just below the cut. Fimming slightly different because a small tuft of the top growth is left behind, the auxin disruption is temporary and less severe. The plant recovers more quickly and sends its energy to multiple surrounding growth points, often creating four or more new shoots from the same spot. It will eventually regain some vertical dominance after a few weeks if left to its own devices, but with a little more LST, bending the apex to the same height as the rest of the internodes, this shatters dominance, hopefully creating around 8-9 main shoots growing at equal height once recovered and grown out. Reduced environmental intensity for now and let her focus on dealing with this new stress for a week or two. My understanding of why we flush. Just plain water, what does it do? Strips the medium of salts and nutrients making it empty. What does that do? Triggers nutrient recycling within the plant. What's nutrient recycling? It is a natural part of plant senescence, which can be triggered once you know the switches. A 24:1 carbon-to-nitrogen ratio will also trigger. Why won't it trigger autophagy for me? Nitrogen needs to be gone, gone, gone almost. Ammoniacal (organic) nitrogen takes 4-5 times more water to separate it from soil particles than nitrates so what happens is most people jist flush the nitrates, leave all the ammoniacal in there and this prevents autophagy initiating. Nitrogen decays differently depending on its form during the dry. Ammoniacal nitrogen will oxidize in the air, leaving no trace. But nitrates do no decay and turn volatile and smelly and remain trapped until smoked, no matter how long you cure it does not oxidize. This is why you need to trigger it and begin the denitrification process prior to harvest to get rid of all the nitrates. Otherwise, you will smoke it. Flush till autophagy begins, just make sure you add no nitrogen afterwards. Micronutrients for trichomes. Don't leave the medium empty for 2 weeks, that does nothing but reduce yield 10%ish. Trichomes are another thing. Trichomes themselves are not directly affected by flushing; rather, flushing affects the plant's nutrient uptake, which influences the development and final state of the trichomes. Trichomes are filled with antioxidants in the last weeks, which is what makes them cloudy. A lot of the processing of antioxidants requires energy and nutrients (mostly micronutrients ), so you don't want that soil empty for 2 weeks, you just want the carbon nitrogen ratio 24:1and no higher. She still wants what she needs to ripen. Processing antioxidants is energy-intensive; heat and light accelerate the rate at which THC converts to CBN. This is why you lower DLI, lower temps. By doing so, you reduce the oxidative workload caused by photosynthesis, which opens up the oxidative capacity for the production of antioxidants. THC is mostly processed at night when the plant's oxidative capacity is generally moreso "free and available" for work

6/13 - It's the beginning of week 3 and 2 of my 3 Jack Herers are suffering from Zinc deficiency. I noticed this yesterday and believe this is a root issue and not a pH issue. They have most likely outgrown these little 4 inch nursery pots and used up all the nutrients in the soil. I'm about a week late in transplanting them as is. I was going to do it last week, but my schedule got thrown off. I knew I would have to leave them in a bit longer so I gave them a very light feeding last week as I was afraid to burn them. However, it turns out for these two, it most likely wasn't enough. I will be transplanting them into 1 gal pots tomorrow with brand new Roots Organic original soil amended with Roots Organics Uprising Foundation. That should take care of any issues. 6/15 - Transplanted all three Jacks into 1 gallon pots. I started with Roots Organics Original soil then added some Oregonism XL to the root ball and a good amount inside of the hole before planting. Then, I top dressed all with some Uprising Foundation also by Roots Organics. . For gnat prevention, I used Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis) aka mosquito bits. I also added some Uprising Grow, as a dry amendment to the one plant that were showing deficiencies for a little extra boost going forward. Finally, I watered everyone with compost tea that I brewed for 18 hrs. They are already looking stronger and healthier.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering. Well... The plants are almost ready.... I'm starting to see a lot of milky trichomes. I'll start flushing now and go for about 10 more days. What I mean by flushing is to water them with ph adjusted tap water with hardly any runoff. I let the plant use up all the food in the pot. Tastes better that way. It will take 6 or 7 days to finish the harvest. I like to wet trim then hang the branches for a couple of days. I wanted to cut them down starting Sun, but the weather channel said "hot that week", so I'll shoot for the next Sun. The long range forecast said it would be a bit cooler. It's tough working in the greenhouse when it's over 30*c in there. 😓 OK. Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.
