Week 8 Veg – Go Big or Go Home! 🌱💪 Hey, Grow Fam! 🌿 What an intense week it’s been in the grow room! This was one of those “go big or go home” moments, and I decided to take it to the extreme. I’m holding off on flipping to flower for just one more week because the plants are filling up the space beautifully—I can’t help but push things to their limits and see just how much these ladies can give! 😎✨ This week was all about maximizing growth and creating the best canopy I can. I did a light defoliation, just here and there to open things up a bit, and then came the bending—LOTS of bending. 🌱 I’m working hard to create an even canopy, though with all these different genetics, we’ll see how close I get! 🤞 Regardless, I’m giving it my all, and I’m super pumped to see how everything will respond in the next stage. The final touch this week? I ended it with a bold 36 hours of darkness to prepare for the big flip next week—flower mode, here we come! 🌸 What Went Down This Week: 1. Canopy Work – Bending and training all over the place to try and keep things even. It’s a real challenge with different genetics, but the payoff is going to be worth it! 2. Defoliation – Just a little bit of leaf removal here and there to help with airflow and light penetration, prepping them for that final veg stretch. 3. 36 Hours of Darkness – Closed out the week with a full day and a half of darkness. The 36 hours of darkness is a technique I like to use to help signal to the plants that it’s time to transition from veg to flower. 🌒 By giving them an extended dark period, I’m mimicking the natural shift from summer to fall, when daylight hours start to shorten. This kick-starts the plants’ flowering hormones (phytochrome), helping them shift into flower mode more smoothly and quickly. In my experience, this method helps speed up the flip, reduces early flowering stress, and often leads to a more uniform bloom across the canopy. It’s like giving the plants a little nudge to let them know, “Hey, it’s time to bloom!” 🌸 This technique is especially useful for growers like me who want to maximize the efficiency and performance of their plants. 😊 4. This year is really like no other regarding the weather! Girls still fattening nicely! We had the two first and only rainy days since two month so I covered them, don't wanna take any risk of but rot and co! Trichomes are huge! As it is very tricky to take live macro shots outdoor with the permanent little breeze we have here I may not be able to show nice pics of them but I tell you I never saw such big trichs! Those new genetics are amazing! See you next week

I have bought different nutrients to use in this grow and honestly I must say terpinator , W-8 and massive as flower boosters along with coco a and b as the base nutrients is fucking class I have never seen bud growth like this in 2 weeks of flower and the smell is so much stronger and sweeter usually buds won't smell like that till the 3rd week

Girls are starting to flower, we’re on a 12/12 light schedule now, I let the girls dry out at the beginning of the week. I’ve been watering them with 1/2 gal per day per 5 gal pot. Will start checking soil and weight twice a day now that they are flowering

3-25 Only gave her 5ml cal/mag and 1.5ml drops of balance. Runoff 850 ph 7.0. See whats going on by next. She still shining 😁🤘 3-28 3ml cal/mag, 1.5 ml drops of balance and 1.5 ml slf-100. Ph 5.9 ppm 115 6 liters water. She looks good since last water so a really lite cal/mag. Again, see how she do. Runoff .

Starting to beef out more. Came out of nowhere , however , we had a little pest issue - Seemed to go straight for it. I hope I’ve remedies that old school way soap water spray plus sticky band to trap. Added some canna cure. Interestingly I went low on silicate and canna cure here vs the other tent. The other tent has had zero pests whatsoever. I also added smaller pots this week with biocanna pro- I hope it’s not that. Anyways - starting to look true to its name now.

she tolerated the first topping well. i will continue to use LST on her and also try FIMing on her. the attempt is to generate a nice bushy plant

I am excited to try out this new gorilla cookies from fastbuds. I originally started this setup to compete in the solo cup challenge, but I needed something that will be minimal maintainence and doesn't require hand watering. So this is what I ended up with. I will not be entering since I know it will bring controversy, but I am going to follow the rules and treat this grow as if I am competing. I didn't want to use regular solo cups because last time I had a lot of algae growing in the root zone when I harvested. I opted to use a black light proof cup. These cups were 27 oz originally so I filled them with 16 oz of water, marked the level, then cut them down to 16 oz. I set the drain pipes about an inch from the bottom so they have a little reserve if I have pump or power issues. I know people will see the drains as a way for roots to grow out of the cup but in reality I have to keep the entire pipe free of roots or it will clog and overflow. So I am actually losing a little volume due to this. I filled the bottom inch or so of the cups with river gravel to stop the perlite from washing into the reservoir. I am running a 5 gallon reservoir with a small air pump and the plants will be getting irritated 24 hours a day from an aquarium power head pump. I set the system up to be totally self contained and easily portable. It was all built from things I had laying around other than 97¢ for the cups. I will be keeping the feed simple as always feeding maxigro and maxibloom with a couple flower boosters.

Fast version B is doing good. She is just vegging along. She should be showing her maturity here in the coming weeks. Then we can get her to a flowering room when it's open.
