This was my first time growing outdoors, and this variety did well in Eastern Ontario region. I started seeds indoors and put the mainlined plants in the garden in early May. They were done flowering September 27th. The plants were beautiful and purple. The flavour is sweet and earthy. This is remains my favourite variety. One thing I learned from this outdoor grow is that I need to allow more space between plants. One of these Purple Kush plants was choked out and didn't grow as well as she could have. Next year I'll do a better job.

Plants continue to enjoy the heat of the summer, Growing big fat leaves, going bone dry from sunrise to sunset and drinking lots of water every day at dusk. Some mild calcium deficiency started appearing the yellowing of the leaves with brown-ish spots, corrected with foliar spray Element XX (calcium supplement) I have also introduced my spray homemade pesticide with natural ingredients, you can find the recipe on my Instagram @Girlgoneweed (under the highlights), spraying 2x a week to keep rodents, deer, aphids, mites, mildew and other threats away. Almost there!

Halfway through week 7. Couple pictures from Tuesday. Gonna upload more when I get back home to her. Can’t raise the lights anymore. Hoping she is done stretching. She takes up every bit of that 4x5 box. Couldn’t be happier with this grow so far. I think next time I’ll go down to 5 gal smart pots this way I can pump out two of them. Still in disbelief she has grown this fast and started budding that fast as well!! I’m feeding her 2 gallons every 2 or so days. She is a very thirsty girl and let’s me know when she is hungry too (leaves curl down). I’ve been slowly defoliating the bottom of her. I cut a couple under grown budds from underneath as well. Not sure how she’d respond if I went scissor happy. I also can’t say enough about Advanced Nutrients. Since I made the switch I can tell her leaves are always praying up and overall health seems through the roof! She really is a monster. 31 inches wide by 36 inches tall. She is stacking nicely. Did my best with pictures. Can’t tell if the flash on the phone helps or hurts the pictures. End of the week- She is doing awesome. Blowing up pretty fast and there is a serious citrus pine smell coming off her when you bump into a budd or it wipes on your finger. For the most part it seems as if she is loving life!!

The Girlscout cookie is soon finish. its in week 7 in flower, I over feeded her alittle but its all good now, i think it was to much calsium or maybe a mix of everything..😂

Everything is looking good so far. They’re all done stretching and the cheese and black garlic have stretched the most. I adjusted each plant with boxes to create a more even canopy. Buds are swelling up nicely. The two black berry breath plants are looking swollen and fantastic. I don’t like the structure and bud size of the black garlic plants and will not be running them again. Although, they’re getting quite keify and the breeder claims they have a genetic trait that make them put on most of their weight late in flower. So far I’m not too impressed by their size. The seedsman Badazz OG cheese has got good node spacing and structure but has very little trichs and smaller buds. I was just running the cheese to test old European genetics and my bias is starting to confirm my bias. Dutch and Euro genetics are shit. The slurricane #4 is looking fantastic in terms of frost but the buds are lacking a little in size. I’m going to do the 21 day strip today. I should have done most of this defoliation earlier in veg but right now is still fine. Ice cream cake #1 hermed which isn’t at all surprising so I scrapped her. At least it gives me more space to get in and tend to the rest of the plants. I got a pump sprayer to get in a bit closer to the plants as well.

Entering week 3, Co2 was implemented and the plants love it. Will be spraying for pests this week.

It really is an extremely fast plant. I have hardly been able to keep up with the normal fertilization scheme, and it seems to be very hungry for CalMag. Despite the deficiencies, the result is surprisingly good.

At day 18 i topped her. I’m really curious how she’s handle the stress. In the next few days I will bend her down a little and installing a net to hold the plant small. We are ending week 3 shortly! She handled the topping very good. No signs of slowing down her grow or any deficiency. I did some LST after topping but one of the main branches snapped half through. She damaged side still performs exactly like the intact one. I try to be patient and careful with the bending of this branch. I taped the location and try to not bend it hardly anymore.

What's good in the hood growmies🤟🏽 Week 7 in the books Hello week 8🙌🏾🙌🏾. They are in their 3 week of flower and the colas are starting to really fatten. It's a jungle in the tent right now so very difficult to take good quality pictures or each plant individually. I waited to water them 1 day to long this week, which caused White LSD #2 to start drooping over, I had to tie her up in order to keep the colas somewhat up right. Other than that it is business as usual, I am still keeping a close eye on Caramelicious making sure she doesn't Hermie, I think she will be alright however she worries me because I had her pollinate an entire tent of 4 plants that were in 10 gallons ruining my whole run before. However I think it was due to my grow room flooding causing the temps and humidity to be out of wack. Since I was late watering I fed them a little extra this week about 1.5 liters (instead of 1)of plain water p.h.'d to 6.6 in the 2 gallon pot it takes about that amount to see run-of. All in all everything is going smoothly I can notice a visible difference in White LSD #1 and 2. Number 2 has some red undertones while #1 is white. Esta semana iniciamos añadiendo un calefactor viendo que las temperaturas seguirian bajando. En exterior las temperaturas bajaron hasta los menos -4ºC por lo que fue muy complicado mantener una buena temperatura en el interior. No fueron suficientes los tres calefactores de 80W. para evitar que bajara tanto la temperatura. Al tener el intractor y extractor 24h. se hace imposible.

The purple punch is doing very well with her companion banana purple punch sisters! She already even has a wonderful smell. I'm very excited for her to get a little lst later in the week. Just trying to be patient I wanna do lst but I feel it's even still a little early. I have been tucking leaves but I may defoliate a small amount here soon when I perform LST. The flowers on this pheno are insane frosty rockhard. Really scared to smoke these 😂 I must say this is the first strain that can handle high humidity up to 79% (with lights off) and no sign of mold even on the other pheno 0 problems and we are now in the final week, i only hive rainwater every day untill runoff for the past 5 days the leaves are still dark so she got enough left to finish up Amazing strain she also fits nice in a 4x4 with only 5weeks veg

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. These days it managed to have some nice sun light, but most days the sky is cloudy.. Had to bend several branches to make it fit in the greenhouse, but she's still growing strong!

The grow came to an end after 9 weeks as the Blue Cheese was falling over and the grow became unmanagable. The Godfather OG plant was also ready but the Do Si Dos could have gone for 10 more days. The oils on the DSD were insane and made for some very nice finger hash. All in all, really proud of the Blue Cheese, it was the stand out for sure.

A few of the zed blacks hermed..spreading pollen into the flower tent. Already seeing some seeds develop. It is what it is. I should have done a better job checking on them. I kept the Zed blacks that only had a couple flowers on the bottom but tossed anything that had flowers growing up the majority of the plant. Some of the most famous strains in the world were self pollinated so I don't have issues with a couple male flowers. They're just trying to improve their fitness as nature intended. The plants are doing very well. A few of the bottom leaves are dying which is normal...senecense! Sucking up those nutrients. I've been liquid feeding using the fish, seaweed, humate and recharge. I have saved the males and they are trying to reveg. Still popping out a few flowers which I'm cutting off. 1 rainbow belt. 1 zed black. 3 hash plants The hash plants are smelling incredible. Definitely a few keepers mixed in here. Maybe 3/7. Hopefully the quality of the flower backs it up. Zed blacks have 2/3 I'm interested in. One is very very low yield. Unless its a really high quality plant I'm gonna toss it Rainbow belts are both smelling ridiculous. Super frosty. Good yield. One is slightly more frosted than the other. The zkittles pheno has pure Skittles smell with a little lemon cleaner chem to back it up. Probably my keeper!
