Hey growers, welcome back to the Pineapple Upside Down grow journal — week 17 of veg. The plant keeps showing solid, consistent growth week after week. Her structure is getting stronger, and the canopy’s really starting to fill out nicely. Leaves are broad, green, and vibrant — a sign that she’s fully balanced and comfortable in her environment. Nutrient uptake looks perfect; the roots are clearly doing their job. I decided to raise the EC slightly, moving up to 1.8, since she’s been drinking more and showing signs of higher demand. pH remains stable, and the overall system is clean, well oxygenated, and running smoothly. For now, there’s no sign of deficiencies or stress. Everything’s running exactly as planned. I’m still unsure whether I’ll top her before moving to flower. That decision will depend on the final height and how much space she takes once she’s ready to transition into the flowering box. At this point, I prefer to let her develop naturally, focusing on strength and branch structure rather than manipulation. This phase is all about preparing her for a smooth transition into bloom, with maximum vigor and balanced nutrition. So for now, patience and observation. Next week should mark the last phase before flowering, and from there, things are going to get a lot more interesting. See you next week, growers — keep it clean, keep it green, and stay consistent. Hello my friend growers! Finally we are nearly there, think I got last two weeks then I can harvest. As a pioneer or better first outdoor grow of the year she is doing great.😍

Day 29 Day 1 flowering

After defoliating both Barbarian (=AK-47 x Barbara Bud) plants after week 11 they now develop more and amore flower clusters, since the light can penetrate deeper int the canopy now. The plants are producing trichomes like crazy, even the bigger sugar leaves are covered in them! VERY FROSTY PLANTS! The flower clusters clearly form colas now along all side branches and both plants fill up nicely. The smell is now strong and sweet with a clear peach aroma to it, it makes me smile every time I look into the tent. The plants love the Advanced Nutrients feeding schedule and are getting the recommended dose every watering.

Busy week this week, both in the garden and in life, hence the later update than usual. Early week gave the girls a good leaf stripping on the inside of the plants. Also removed any scraggly growth that was not getting any sun. As usual really helped open them up to more airflow and light penetration. At start couldn't even see the sun through them! Next day both looked great with no visible signs of stress. Now I'll say it was a VERY hot week this week, daytime highs 32°C feeling like 42°C with 90% humidity and the girls were thirsty AF, dropping heavy every night, . Watering every evening, hose on full soaker setting for 3 minutes per plant, roughly 35 liters of water each! Even with all the water, the bigger plant was looking sad, and I had a sneaking suspicion that it just did not have enough root space. So I tuned into my inner MacGyver again, and came up with a solution. Using no nails or screws, I was able to fashion a 3x3 bed for her! All thanks to growing on plastic skids. Just slid 2x4 PT into the slots in a 3x3 square, and then slid 1/2" PT sheet (cut to size) on the inside of the wood. Afterwords cut the fabric pot, and lay it down to make the perfect base inside the new bed to prevent soil from coming out. Topped it up with three wheel barrow of garden soil that I had left from the spring load, watered and hoped my idea worked. The next day, she's looking happier than ever, and I haven't seen a droopy leaf on her since! Now she's really ready to bring on some serious bud weight. Mentioning that, I also added the second layer of horizontal trellis, as well as vertical trellis around the smaller plant. Temps look cooler for the next two weeks, and not much of any rain forecast, even though we desperately need it. At least with forecast being 25°C highs and 10°C lows the girls should slow down on water intake, trying to conserve where we can right now but got a keep them fed. Until next week!

Amazing Colours! As you can see the colours on this plant at the end of its run are absolutely amazing. The buds didnt out as dense as I had hoped but I think thats just this pheno and we are busy hunting a denser pheno atm. what a great strain to grow though. no problems during the cycle of the plant and the colours make it so rewarding to grow! I would definitely recommend this strain to people who like fruity and colourful plants. Barneys never disappoints really;)

Hey everyone! 👋 It's week 9 and the girls have really impressed me! 😵 The plant that's on the back of the tent (or the one closer to the timelapse video) was the most troubled one of the two (long leave stems, tons of branches, their leaves weren't very strong) but this week something happened and she stretched a lot, it was shocking! Perhaps she was stunned or something was affecting her? No idea but she even responded really well to the defoliation I did! (and to be clear, I did a lot of defoliation 😝). Her sister on the other hand was just developing well and it's clear she's a little more ahead. One important thing that I realized this week (and I completely forgot) is that these plants are autos and their flowering phase is shorter compared to the ones from a normal feminized plant. So regardless of which plant might be ahead of the other I decided to start feeding both of them (not full dose!) with my NP nutrients. Hopefully both will receive them well! And that's all for now.
