The roots look super healthy. I'm happy because I didn't use quality soil for germination 😬 I guess it worked because I used like 90% perlite and 10% poor quality soil which worked great for new little roots. So much so that they wanted to be repotted after 2 weeks😁 after the repot they looked very much happy 💚 I repotted with biobizz light mix soil and a lot of perlite,as much perlite as soil cause I'm afraid of root rot and it just works for me🖤 also I still haven't given any nutrients cause they don't seem to want them yet.

Another good week with lots of vigor growth. Training is going as i want , got to love bushes. Another 1-2 weeks before puttning them in flower.

Day 33 from seed: This strain is the star of my room thisnrun. Fast buds were not kidding about the growth on these ladies being fast. They have gone crazy this week and now trained , I can see their huge potential already. I do have a bit of a Nitrogen issue happening that I am dealing with . #1 Los girl is contourting in pain from too much N as is #2 as well. they both have odd leaves clawing at the tips and i initially thought overwatering but now i think it is N. No more Mc for the Los pot and only plain water for next feed. #2 is also showing signs of too much N so backing off back to 10g/L Mega crop again to try to correct it. Over all she is doing brilliant and banging on the size. #3 another happy healthy big girl to look forward to smoking

Week 5 of flowering for the three ladies went well. A couple of the hairs started turning orange and shriveling. Tricomb production is looking grand, smell just continues to grow stronger and stronger. Stinking the whole house up even with a 4” carbon filter and fan constantly scrubbing the closet. Ph fell down to the lower 6.1-6.2, plants started yellowing and loosing older fan leaves, could have something to do with them Inching closer to harvest time, also probably has something to do with the slight ph drop, either way sugar leaves, new growth, and bud is all thriving so as long as the problem doesn’t continue to get server I’m not worried about the plant using up nutrients and offing some at this point in time useless lower fan leaves. Popsicle cake is giving off a straight gas/diesel fuel smell. The tallest unknown plant is solid lemons and Kush, and the middle sized unknown plant has a semi sweet but yet gassy aroma coming off her. Very exciting leading into week 6 of flower!

10/2 They made it to their forever pots. Next Saturday we'll be hitting 2 months from sprout and as a whole its been a pleasure to grow these plants. They all are a very healthy green and seem to be happy. Temperatures in the region may have unexpectedly slowed them down (I grow in a basement) because temps have plummeted from around 78 with the lights on to as low as 71! I don't think they like it either. Growth has slowed with it. Never fear, space heater is here. Everything thing needs to be dialed in for the next few weeks because I want explosive growth over the next 21 days. Going to try a SST somewhere in there. Parsing through all this bro science isn't easy but it sure is fun to experiment. It allegedly gives you good root growth and provides crucial enzymes. Almost sounds too good to be true but I'm going to see how it goes regardless. I heard you can use I wide variety of seeds but alpha alpha is the only one I have on hand. Wish me luck. As for the plants: Moby= beast. I'd be a fool not to attempt to clone her. Vigorous grower and responds well to training. Not a demanding eater either, at least so far. Loving this freebie from NASC. Highly recommend them if you're in the northeast US looking for a local seed bank. GZ 1 = steady. Probably the biggest back slide if you want to call it that. Spotted some yellowing on lower leaves but they are shaded by this ones thick canopy. May not even be an issue but we keep an eye on it. Probably the biggest critic of the lowering temperatures because she's slowed down in the past 2 days. Gz2= trooper. She had a rougher upbringing and she's got a far different shape than the other two because of it. But with a little work I'm sure soon both GZ will be indistinguishable from one another. Banana daddy= forgot to take pics of her. Man have I been growing autoflowers all wrong. I may have fed this plant once. Though it should be noted that the soil I put her in was amended with alpha alpha, fish bone meal, and guano. She seems to really enjoy it so far. Not a single yellow leaf. Droopy at times though which is odd. Also some tacoing on new growth that ends up correcting itself as the leaf gets bigger. Double odd. Next time I do an auto run I'm definitely doing much less in terms of feeding and maintenance. Loving your plants too much can be deadly. Starting to figure them out though so I'm happy I did at least one. I'll post in a few days when I water my photos again.

Small pot Do-si-Dos got chopped today (March 2) the buds are super frosty and sticky, but they are small and not very dense. Not much else to say, will update in 6-7 days with dry weight and smoke report.

Haven’t updated recently due to work/getting my forklift license, long story short I passed and now onto the plants. The gelato are looking very well so far, switched the lights to 12/12 half way through week 4 so should be another week of stretch and then we will have the flower production (my favourite part) I’ve seen some weird marks on some leaves, not sure what they are or if their a problem but they don’t seem to be spreading etc so idk what it is but they seem healthy imo.

This week I started low stress training, it’s very early for it as it may still be in the seedling stage🤷‍♀️🏼 Jus experimenting. I’ve been giving them rain water mixed with spring water at a ph of 6-6.5, I spray them down daily. I’m not Evan sure I’m LST’ing them properly but a girl can try😊 Feel free to correct anything I’m doing wrong, or give any advise☺️💗

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. ●Day 49, end week 7. Added bembe, Boomerang, and blackstrap molasses to the diet. Noticed some brown freckles on a handful of leaves. Hopefully the cal and mag in the molasses will help get me through another week before the big flush🤞 recalibrated my p.h. meters. On to week 8 ●Day 44 just picked up a new microscope (Wireless Digital Microscope, ROTEK 50x and1000x Microscope Magnification with HD 1080P 2MP Camera, Mini Pocket Handheld Microscope Camera with Light Compatible for iPhone Android, iPad Windows Mac) via Amazon.
