First day of week 4, the plants are grown big enough to top but they didn't develope enough side branches to start mainlining. I hope I can use this technique as soon as the plants recover from the topping. On day 4 just the first of the three shows sign of complete recover while the side branches still don't want to grow up. I fed the plants with a tea full of microbes and good organic stuff. End of week 4, the only thing needed for the lower branches to catch up was increase the height of the lamp. Now they are really happy looking forward to the second and last month of veg

May 15: later start as a replacement for my failure on Durban Poison. Have wanted to fit this one in for a while and should be an easy and reliable grow. Top tip for germination stage is get a heating mat. My house is usually about 18 C but cannabis, tomatoes and pepper all need it warmer to start properly. So, get a heating mat. i usually keep it at about 26 C. Next germination tip is to expose the newly sprouted seed to ethylene gas just before it first reaches light. This is a huge tip for all growers. I tried it last year on peppers, tomatoes and cannabis. 😎 This is as big a tip as my standard “get a pH meter”. Week 6 . These ladies have certainly got with it this week and all been busy root building. They have all hit the bottoms with ice thick roots , ready for all that food coming. The Gorilla Glue#4 has been pushing so many new growth tips it will be sad to strip them out again Wedding cake is similar with a lot of height gains ( but encouraged to stay low again with some stem bending and bruising/crushing. This should make it easier to bend them once in the nft trays. her growth tips are numerous now too. Ghost of is another matter altogether, she has been struggling to catch up and now has at least drawn level with a recent newer growing. I have ow stripped it back to the 3rs and 4th node but oddly there were no real paired nodes. She seems to be growing more like a clone at this point???. I know once they hit the nft pace they will fly so I am hoping to flip them at about week 8 so I can keep them managable during their stretch. Have a great week Growmies.

It's all happening. Buds are thickening out really nicely. The only downside is that I haven't anticipated how tall haze grows. I've had to do a bit of LST on my largest top bud to keep it away from the light....it has grown about 5cm from the lamp, so i've trained it back down to 10cm under the lamp. Next time I need 2 ScROG nets - The first needs to sit about 15cm from the base of the pot, with constant training in the weeks 1-3 to get the plant growing right to the edge of the tent. The second will be added in week 5-6 about 40cm from the base of the pot - when the plants meet the second net I'll then train the top buds inwards towards the centre of the net. I am also DEFINITELY defoliating properly next time - all the lower branches have died off and I'd like all that energy to be directed towards the flowers. Has to be the last job before I flip my lights.

21 days! The GWK cross is really going for it, really really happy that I did not ditch it of it stretched way to much as a seedling. The HBSS cross on the other hand is still super bushy, very healthy but bushy, not what I am looking for in a plant but it is what it is. Did not see any deficiencies or nutrient burn, guess I am hitting it spot on. Had to bend down the GWK cross so that the lower shoots got more time to reach upwards. Overall a very good week, even with the summer heat all goes just fine. Values are average of the day. week 2 of flower, been able to line up compost teas with feeds so they get nutes, nutes, RO+TEA, Repeat. foliar last times this week, I stop spraying anything on week 3! showed how i like to shake them up with the scrog a bit in last vid. I do that to essentially simulate a wind storm, strengthen stalks and roots, also helps reorganizing the canopy as you sorta shake things into place that were bunched up next to neighboring leaves. next week will do a fairly heavy defoliation to allow better airflow around colas

It was my first grow so I know my next crack at this strain would be much better. I didn't have too many issues or any crazy setbacks. It was smooth sailing for a while and then had some nute/deficiency issues but it was later in flower. I did move them into a bigger tent with a far better light but not until the last 3 weeks of flower. So I know I'll have to grow this again in the future and compare!
