This was a good grow couple of ups and downs weather wise and the moment of devastation when seeing my fattest cola had been affected by bud rot this was a solid happy nug yesterday and today well thenpics tell a tale all other buds were fine and are drying as we speak ye win some ye lose some some are just fkin annoying

This week: air bubbles, air bubbles, and AIR BUBBLES, that's why my growth has been weak lol. AAAAAND I wasn't giving them space between the net pots from the water! VERY IMPORTANT NEW DWC-ers lol Sooo this week I was just letting them be. Until I realize I was messing up, everything in the book EXCEPT those 2 things I state above. I just received my new air pump today as am writing this (everything is installed) very pleased with the new pump. But I gotta replace those airstones they seem clogged up (yes I did wash em, warm water and a firm toothbrush) But I've been checking everything down to my pH that's it's constant at 5.8 My PPM is the same when they drink so let's see the difference a week from now. I do start to see lil pistols coming out on the 1st plants I think shes done veggin let's see next week. Wow monster growth this week!!! last week 9cm, same time this week 30cm!!! Also I fimmed/topped her earlier in the week too!! Looks like she started flowering this week too. Look how much she has stretched! I've tried doing a bit of LST. Truth be told I have no idea what I'm doing, but it seems like a good idea to me to spread out the branches so they all get decent light.

Solo cup challenge continues to press along. Not much change, plants are in veg, growing and healthy. Still a few weeks before the flowers start so I hope to get a bit of size going before it does. I had to move the grow to another house and break a lot of steams. 2 main stems are broken (hst) and some secundary ones, but besides that everything is going smooth. They are recovering well.

pH was important as expected and a bit of light burn later on in the grow but ultimately it was pretty smooth sailing. I used a very common nutrient (GHE) and not overly strong. Buds were thick, dense, and moderately pine smelling. The plant did not grow excessively tall thanks to LST, and the LST did not seem to have any ill effects at all. Foliage was thick, and I let it go for a very long time before doing any sort of defoliation. Even then it was modest and just to get light to the lower colas. Still in trimming mode and will continue to update :) Also, other plants in the house got spider mites. Not this one. Could have been that it was in hydro and others weren't but hard to say.

I used a macro lens from a fish eye kit you can buy for any phone to make that macro video, i highly recommend them it’s so easy to see when i can harvest , these are also very cheap but you do need a steady hand haha. I smoked some smaller buds about a week after harvest & it already tastes amazing almost like a reaalllyy sweet banana haha & the burn is good also i was suprised it was smokeable so fast. Fat banana is one of my favourite strains from now on! I also had 1 Sour Diesel in the tent but i’m still curing that one

The lighting intensity is at 833 PPFD, and the solution in the reservoir is fine-tuned to a pH of 6.22, EC of 475, with a temp of 21.8°C. Let’s talk pH in the reservoir: it’s a dynamic process, and I’m constantly adjusting it to keep everything at the right level. The pH tends to rise throughout the week, and each day, I work it back down, fine-tuning it to keep those plants happy and balanced. Managing pH is truly a hands-on job, and it’s worth every moment. I love staying on top of it for optimal nutrient uptake—it’s all about consistent effort and keeping that perfect range dialed in. Leaf Maintenance & Selective Defoliation These leaves are HUGE and gorgeous, creating a lush canopy that’s nearly too perfect! I’ve been taking a few leaves here and there, focusing on leaves that may be blocking light from reaching lower parts of the plant. Selective defoliation at this stage is key because it opens up airflow and allows light to penetrate deep, boosting energy distribution across the whole plant. Big, healthy leaves mean we’re getting excellent photosynthesis, but a gentle, strategic defoliation can guide that energy toward those developing buds. This week nothing special happened. I gave nutrients to all of them, but this is the last time I gave nutrients to Sweet ZZ's, because I think they will be ready to harvest in one week approximately.

End of 6th week. Switched light set up around yet again. Think we got the golden sweet spot with this light setup finally, it's a short tent the cobs were just too intense so it's now in the big tent, using three lights we originally got for supplemental lights. Not a clean set up wires everywhere, not overly happy about that. But very cool and explosion of buds. Did LST the tall guy everything is coming in nice and even now. Gonna be a beautiful turn out. Colors Already.. Super stoked for that first smoke.
