Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos
Week 16 Harvest
17 th April 2020
This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution.
I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity.
This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary.
I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds.
And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant
so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name.
Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own.
She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing.
She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a
pleasant mix of the two.
It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other
than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc.
The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos

😽🎉 Happy New Year Growmies!! Week 2 of flower is here and they're really filling out nicely!.. im a little bummed we found a hermi but way better than not finding it lol, besides the White OG is filling in the space nicely....color is nice and uniform save a few burnt tips in the bunch (nothing serious), I assume these plants still have another 3-5days of stretching left but time will tell...a few girls look dramatically different and some are much bigger than the rest, i would guess that this is unavoidable...Our goal is 1lb at harvest which should be relatively easy to achieve with a grow this size...Thanks as always for dropping by and happy harvests everyone!! ❤️🌱

They're just about done stretching and they look strong and healthy 😻.. we'll do some moderate defoliation on day 21of flower to improve airflow and light penetration..we've been feeding a little bloom, grow and a touch of calmag with every watering and they seem to appreciate the off-label regiment so far..thanks for reading, we'll update soon!

Here’s the breakdown for our Epic Buzz phenotypes:
Pheno #1 is thriving with its buds thickening up nicely, showcasing a frosty appearance that promises high-quality resin production.
Pheno #2 remains a bit smaller in comparison, yet it's catching up with an increase in bud density and trichome development.
Pheno #3 stands out with its robust growth and resin-packed buds that are slightly ahead in terms of maturity compared to its siblings.
As we approach the harvest, maintaining optimal environmental conditions—consistent humidity and temperature—is more crucial than ever to maximize their potential.

Well, I came back after vacation, and this is what I found: it jumped up to the light.... I made a little cropping and tried to use more LST, the problem is that it no longer fits :D :D :D but at the same time, it's really interesting to me trip :)also, several rings are already affected by the light, my 50w light currently shines at 100%, maybe it would be better to reduce it to at least 80%?.

During week 9 the twelve AK-47 plants continue to thrive. All of them have a healthy green color and grow more and more flowers from top to bottom. The plants start to form HUGE colas and I am astounded by the speed of the new flower development. The trichome production is in full swing and the pants get stickier every day. I still feed them following the mills nutrient schedule and they seem to have all they could wish for. The SANlight Q5W-Gen.2 LED lamps are dimmed to 100% (=3 green lights on dimer ON) without the SUNRISE-FADE (=orange light on dimmer OFF) and are at a distance of 50 cm from the top of the plants. This ensures that the whole canopy gets the maximum of light. Very informing were the recommendations from SANlight on their u-tube channel, see here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVhLo4Yv8QqfbaNSY6ROeWQ The aroma of the plants is getting stronger now, they have a heavy and mildly sweet smell (reminiscent of sandalwood), which is typical for the AK-47 from Serious Seeds. Looks better than last week. Fed her more to get her going again. Lovely citrus smell coming from her pistols. She's going to go on alot longer than the others so need to think of a game plan. Hoping loft will be cool enough for cure otherwise this will have to go outside or in the house as I need the air con for the other girls. They have priority %100 🌱💚
Decided to lower temps on advice so will see how it goes
