This past week I pushed the nutrient EC value to 2.8 these plants need it! Tomorrow is the first 12/12 light cycle, will be adding Si to help with internodal spacing. Chitosal definitely sparked growth, one more foliar application before I add it to the reservoir. Am excited to see flower formation this scrog is large. Timing will be improved next time by popping more seeds to guarantee germination.

Most of the week was spent setting up the hydro grow. Needed to build a DIY chiller since air temp in our grow room is hot, and water needs to be a good deal colder. Fridge from kijiji, garden hose, fittings, and submersible pump all in were under $100 but knowing what I know now I'd likely go with a thermoelectric chiller (DIY, with power supply and temp controller) next time around. Looking forward to tracking metrics and seeing how it goes :). Seems there's a lot of contradiction in terms of level of nutrients recommended, max water temperature, using H2O2 to boost water temp that can keep algae and rot at bay, etc. Got my hands on some Hydroguard via Amazon... despite local shops saying you can't get it in Canada... so I'm going to go with that instead of H2O2 to start, despite water temp getting up above 21 C (70 f) during the day. Fingers crossed. Update - keeping water reservoir tank under 20 C now by using reflective bubble wrap insulation on the reservoir itself and pipe insulation as well. It's a 10 C difference from the room temp, so I'm SUPER pleased with that.

The finish line is in sight. I have been completely caught of guard with this plant. It all started when I got a half oz of Gelato 33 top shelf grade AAAA+. Any who I being who I am,glass half full type of a grower. I found around 20 nice mature seeds and stored them away for a time. Out of the blue a thought hit me,?,I should geminate a couple of them there Gelato 33 bag seeds. I did not expect to much with this grow and I usually don't when growing out bag seed. Needless to say I honestly believe that this plant is far superior to the bud I got the seeds out of. Keep in mind the AAAA+ quality of the buds I got the seeds from. This plant had giving me absolutely zero issues. One day I'm looking at marble sized buds and I swear it seemed like overnight the transformed into golf ball sized nugs and then some. The colors are amazing purple, yellow, red, pink and the most alive green color I've seen. I have been placing a layer of crushed ice on top of the soil and letting it melt in and doing so has noticably increased trichomes and made her pop purple so dark it's black. Never again will I underestimate the power of bag seed genetics. Honestly I know me and in all reality any seeds from flower I purchase is always high grade or exotic so ya any viable seeds should in theory produce good quality medicine providing the pollination was from a nanner and not from full on hermies. I say that because a nanner pollination will give you female seeds as to a Hermie pollination will produce mixed with strong Hermie traits.

There is very little to do with the plants, they are getting fatter by the day and frostier by the day. I found out I was giving them way too much nutrient so I started giving them 0.4 EC less (its still a work in progress). The lights are still on 85%. It is starting to smell more and more sour and there is also a fresh lemon smell coming from it now.

420 Fastbuds Week 4 Gorilla Cookies Auto This week's update the girls decided to go into the flower stage. Seeing preflower sites all over. Still no big issues from the looks. Added a little GH CaliMagic to the feed to help combat the little rust spots that showed up on a couple leafs. Looks like adding calmag to the feeding did the trick. 3/8 - We're at 66 days and she continues to grow wider and denser a few days after I defoliate. The tent real estate is pretty tight right now, so I'm shopping around for a 4x4. After looking at other GL diaries, this strain is known to grow huge! I'm just anxious as to when I'll start seeing buds! 3/10 - Goldie is definitely getting some sunburn on top so I've raised the lamp a few more inches and she's now about 20 inches away and the lamp is dimmed to 75%.. gave a good nute-filled watering with cal mag. Fourth flowering week, so I'm guessing 4 more weeks? I still don't see any developed nugs yet. She's going to be a biggun'!
