Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. This was my first photoperiod grow. It was a great experience. I kept the veg cycle short to keep it more manageable and so it wouldn't be as terrible if I screwed something up toward the end and needed to trash it. I'll grow MANY more photo plants in the future. Some of the autos have small yields. I doubt that's an issue with these babies! 💪 This girl got so big that even with added supplements to help keep her stem strong, almost all her branches bent. They were HUGE. The color got very light toward the end and the leaves got a little stress because I didn't manage the humidity well. *I think* It got down in the 20s a lot. It had a fairly strong aroma toward the end of the grow but nothing compared to it's tent partner. She looks like she started fox tailing a little toward the end. Also, most likely due to temp and humidity. Closets are hard to control. All in all, this was an enjoyable grow and I look forward to trying it again and hopefully growing an even better one!! 😁

I am busy all weekend, so I wanted to make sure I got something out of the grow (just in case). I might use a good portion of this harvest for rosin and for when friends ask :) That is if the second plant lasts until next week. I cant ask my wife to keep an eye on water, roots, or bud.

The ladies are starting to stretch and flower. We also did a defoliation and lollipop session at the end of week 2 flower. Canopy and bud sites look good and are a plenty. Looking forward to next couple of weeks.

Feel that the light intensity and lack of drainage caused the possible defiencies that appear to be by the leaves. I administered 50ml 6.5ph water and meigs grow fertilizer. Also, drilled hole through side of bottle for drainage . Will post pictures in a day or 2 to see if it perks up

So far so good , seeds have broken through soil .

Day 34 this lady is running, I can see flowers getting bigger every day, smell started really really soon this time so I already had to add the Carbon Filter. I’d like to close the cycle in less then 80 days. Ph 6.2 Ppm 731 As I’m growing an solito in a 9.2 lt pots with all mix nutrients I’m slowing down with all in one and just giving base feedings, I ll decide later if I should give super-pk for the next weeks Day 40, tomorrow will be feeding days. Sge’s going really well, resin is already showing up on flowers that are several as and colorfull, smell is already there 🤤 Tomorrow update with feedings parameters. We're almost done with the untouched plant! I'm watching daily for the Terps to turn to my taste. So I love sativa's & hybrid's so now I'm wanting almost all of the Terps to turn red but about 15-20% so there's not too much of a heavy couch lock on it. So basically any day now! Baby #2, with the right bottom side missing is still in full flower, working on getting those buds growing. They've gotten so big where I rotate them daily to make sure we have equivalent lighting on every side of the plant. After almost losing 2 of my plants to my toddler, I got very serious. I ordered a hygrometer, so I can watch temps & humidity. A water ph tester. & a tiny humidifier, within like a 7 day period. I got everything to make sure everything was on point. Turns out this FOOP canna food is way more than what I ever imagined. I don't hardly ever have to adjust my ph turns out the FOOP comes very balanced. I now check my ph everytime I feed and water but when I used my food & mix it with water i then check my ph & every single time its spot on! I've kept my routine this whole time. Even the few days I nursed my dying babes back to health. Feeding every tuesday & friday & watering on sundays. I don't know if any of you would wonder if it seems like I'm maybe not watering enough. But autos grow at an insane rate, so giving their roots an airy dryer soil gives them maximum amount of room to grow as quickly as they want. They don't have heavy wet soil slowing them down which gives them more opportunity for growth. SO. I've got 1 plant almost finished. 1 very large plant even with a side missing is still huge, and working hard on growing some little chubby buds. Lol. And then my mini auto growing some chunky buds but not very many. Lol. Pics to come very very soon! I appreciate anyone who reads all of this! I've poured my heart into all of these plants & I hope to only keep learning & loving it!!

More Fantastic Grow News! They have been still doing great and developing the flowers and buds - I am VERY happy with how everything has been turning out! When opening the tent you are immediately hit with the subtle smell of maturing, ripening ganja - Each flower has a mixture of white hairs, orange hairs and an incredible amount of frosty leaves and trichomes. I notice that my Cherry Gorilla x Sol Sonic #2 is sprouting the red hairs faster than the rest - I hope she can hold off until the rest of the girls are completely finished! The Cal-Mag seems to be working - I am noticing dark, dark green leaf color right next to the biggest buds - I am guessing that this is the Cal-Mag doing its thing. I see that the leaves that were damaged from the deficiency are slowly turning back, however I feel as it is this far along, the plants are most likely focusing on the flowers rather than the leaves - which seems to be what I wanted. The dark color next to the buds give me hope it was a good remedy. When touching each of the flowers, you are left with a VERY sticky, leftover goo than stays on your fingers. Each flower smells extremely distinct - which is somewhat unexpected. This just goes to show you the power of phenotypes! These seeds came from the same dispensary bag, and each one seems to be just a little different. You can especially see what I am talking about from the Macro shots I took this week - look at the descriptions for the full breakdown. Wish me luck! Day 72: 600W LED, 18 hours on 6 hours off the same with ventilation. Ferilization is the same except BlackBerry Kush and LSD-25 they are being flushed. Water intake also remains the same 200ml per day. Humidity approx 35 percent. Day 74: BlackBerry Kush and LSD-25 have to be harvested this week Friday so no more water. Colorado Cookies and Northern Light next week so started flushing them. Glueberry OG needs a bit more time.

Die anderen Pflanzen hatten bereits Schimmel entwickelt und es war auch kein weiteres Blütenwachstum festzustellen. die Trichome sahen auch leicht angebräunt aus, Deshalb wurde geerntet und verarbeitet. Die Ernte der zweiten späten Pflanze war wesentlich geringer aber noch passabel.

Massive PH swings are now levelling out. Using Organic Alaskan Bloom to lower the PH instead of the huge amount of PH Down it usually take. Needs less (about 5-10 ml) to lower the PH back to 5.7 from 6.4. BHB2 is more Sativa in appearance but is going to finish about 1-2 weeks ahead of BHB1 which is more indica like. (Appearances can be deceiving!). Have already flushed BHB2 for 24 hours with fresh RO water, replaced half with fresh then added GHE Bloom, Micro, CalMag, then the organics (Hygrozyme, Tarantula, Microbe Tea *Formula below.) Will do a final three day RO water flush when all the trichomes are cloudy (My fave harvest. More 'up') and about 10% amber. Am not worrying about PPM or EC at the moment. The microbes and organics are kind of messing with it. Had a potassium deficiency in BHB1. Treated with more GHE Bloom. Seems ok now. I believe that this is an incredible strain if you have the option to have more plants. I believe i have around 20 nice grams. I will update once it’s dry.
