## Week 6 Update: Strong Vegetative Growth Continues 🌿💚 ### 🌱 Preparing for Flowering 🌱 Welcome back! In Week 6, all three of our plants—Greenhouse Super Lemon Haze, Humboldt Seed Bubba Kush, and Blueberry Muffin—are still in the vegetative stage. They are thriving, and this extended time in veg is allowing them to develop robust structures, setting the stage for a strong flowering phase later on. --- ### 🌼 Vegetative Progress 🌼 **Greenhouse Super Lemon Haze 🌞** - Growing vigorously, with significant height and branch development. - The plant is responding well to LST, creating a wider and more even canopy. **Humboldt Seed Bubba Kush 🌿** - Compact and bushy, with strong, dense growth. - Ideal for smaller spaces, this plant is developing a solid foundation for flowering. **Blueberry Muffin 🥞** - Showing lush foliage and thickening stems. - The extended vegetative period is helping to ensure a healthy, resilient plant ready to support heavy buds. --- ### 🌱 Vegetative Techniques 🌱 To maximize growth during this stage, I’ve focused on several key techniques: - **Low-Stress Training (LST):** Continually training the branches to spread out and create multiple bud sites. - **Topping:** Applied to promote bushier growth and enhance yield potential. - **Defoliation:** Light defoliation to improve air circulation and light penetration to the lower parts of the plants. - **Nutrient Management:** Maintaining a balanced nutrient schedule with an emphasis on nitrogen to support healthy vegetative growth. --- ### 🌿 Looking Ahead 🌿 With all plants still in the vegetative stage, the focus remains on building strong, healthy plants. This extended veg time will pay off when we finally transition to flowering, ensuring that the plants are well-prepared to produce large, high-quality buds. Stay tuned for next week's update as we continue to nurture these plants and prepare for the eventual switch to flowering! Happy growing! 🌿💚

420Fastbuds Week 7 Gorilla Cookies Auto The 2 of these seem to be growing great. The bigger one seems to have taken the fasttrack to flower as they both sprouted around the same time. The smaller one is by no means doing bad it's just a little slower but by the looks of it I'll guess it'll be close the the same size as the taller one that's close to 40in tall from the top of the soil. The taller one has preflowers all over and even though is tall stacked nice so the spacing on branches between flower sites isn't to far. This week the temps have been dropping from the low 90's to the mid 70's during the day and into the 50's at night. Got some rain today so humidity is up to 65% but I upped my fans so hopefully will be ok and it was a fluke storm so guessing tomorrow will be back to sunshine and nice weather. Until next week Happy Growing

🌿 White Widow – Week 5 Flower (12/12 from Seed) This week marks a very special stage in the journey of our legendary White Widow. She’s fully into flower mode now, and what a sight she is. Her structure remains compact and elegant, but her buds are bulking beautifully. The trichomes are already covering her in a frosty layer, and her pistils stand out with those iconic, vibrant white hairs that give her such presence. Her leaves are a deep, rich green, almost darker than the sisters around her. This makes me wonder if she might show us some darker expressions as the weeks progress. It’s one of those fascinating mysteries of White Widow, you never really know until she decides to reveal it. ⸻ 💧 Feeding & Nutrition This week’s recipe combines Plagron and Aptus inputs, working hand in hand: • Plagron • Power Buds → flower formation boost • Sugar Royal → metabolism & terpene support • Green Sensation → bulking, quality, and finishing power • Aptus • All-in-One Liquid → full-spectrum base feed • CalMag Boost → structural support & deficiency prevention • Regulator → stress resistance & nutrient uptake enhancer 💡 Even though the super soil is reading around 5.75 NPK and already contains nutrients, we’re boosting her further because this girl is on a 12/12 (11/13) from seed shuttle. Her timeline is faster, so we want to see how far she can go and what she can take without stress. This is a balancing act, pushing her potential while respecting her limits. ⸻ ⚖️ 12/12 from Seed vs. Normal Veg + Flower Cycle For those joining now, here’s why White Widow looks the way she does: • Normal Cycle (Veg + Flower): • Weeks of 18/6 light first → plants grow tall, with big root systems. • 12/12 flip triggers stretch → often 2–3× size increase. • 12/12 (or 11/13) from Seed: • No long veg phase → plant stays smaller and more compact. • Buds start forming early → less size, but quicker cycles. • Ideal for experiments, time-saving, or small grows. 👉 Our White Widow is a prime example: compact frame, dense cola, side branches forming golf-ball buds. Small in stature, but already showing big personality. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment • Temperature: ~28–30°C • Humidity: ~57–60% • VPD: ~1.3–1.9 kPa • Light: Balanced spectrum & PPFD, designed for resin production & compact growth She has stayed stress-free despite the warm climate, showing her resilience. ⸻ 🔮 What to Expect (and Not to Expect) Expect: • Buds bulking even further, stacking on that main cola and side branches. • Trichomes and frost building up week after week. • Aromas starting to get stronger as resin production increases. Not to Expect: • Major vertical stretch → she has chosen her form and will stay compact. • Quick finish → White Widow is a classic that takes her time to do things right. ⸻ 🗓️ Timeline Recap – From Seed to Week 5 Flower • Week 1: Germination → mistakes with the heat mat, but one strong survivor carried the torch. • Week 2: Settled into soil, fed gently while super soil activated. • Week 3: Compact growth, strong nodes, and healthy green structure. • Week 4: Transition into flower → bud sites forming, frost beginning. • Week 5 (Now): Full flower mode → trichomes sparkling, pistils shining, cola building beautifully. ⸻ 🙏 Gratitude & Community • 🌱 Huge thanks to Zamnesia for these legendary genetics. • 💧 Appreciation to Aptus and Plagron for powering this run with balanced nutrition. • 💡 Shout-out to the gear teams supporting the light and control setup. • ❤️ And, as always, gratitude to you — the community. 10 September Harvest - see pictures. While some growers leave the plant whole when they cut, I do not. It is a personal preference and situational convenience if your a home grower. I chose to cut large, long branches, and remove any whole water leaves, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the bud formation. I don’t trim yet. This is done for a few of reasons: 1) It’s my last good close-up look at her until another 5 days or more, 2) I don’t want wet leaves drying on my buds if I can help it, and 3) I occasionally like being able to shine a small LED flashlight on the flowers while its drying. Mold is our greatest problem as growers, it can destroy a beautiful grow right up until the end process. Then I hang it in a dark closet, provide circulation and ventilation. Light and heat, anything above 80 degrees F, will start a break down in cannabinoids during the dry, it is ideal to stay away from both. I’m fortunate that a humidity level of 50- 55% and temperature of 65-70 degrees F is fairly consistent and easy to maintain. Anything below 60 degree F will prevent the adequate drying out of chlorophyll. Almost all my flower routinely take 5-7 days, some a little longer, to properly dry out. 15 September Trim - see pictures. First you’ll notice the buds have shrunk up to half their original size. This is just a fact that we growers have to deal with. Due to evaporation without uptake of water, it takes about 3 days for the chlorophyll to dry up, then slowly go through a chemical change. Along with the leaves, cannabinoids also begin a chemical change after 3 days called decarboxylation. A slow process where the THC level increases while curing. You want the leaf to be dry so they can be hand trimmed easily, but you do not want that bud so dry that it starts to fall apart in your hand. Try to handle carefully by the main stem to avoid touching the bud all together. A lot of these cut leaves will be covered with trichomes, good for making oils, or other products, it’s an option worth looking into keeping it. After trimming, I do separate a few premium flowers for my first smoq. Then loosely fill wide mouth quart mason jars with about 1 oz/28 gr of product per jar. I seal the lids for a few hours to determine what relative humidity they are at, see hygrometer pic, before making a decision to put in a 62% humidity control pack of my choice or to wait, then place in secure in a cool dark place with stable humidity and temperature. It is very important to then observe/burp or exchange the air as needed, up to several times a day, until 62% rh is achieved. Once your close to to your mark, put in your desired RH level control terpene shield. If you have a problem getting there: 1) it has dried out too much, no real solution, try to put several large cut stems left over from harvest into the jars with the buds to try and increase humidty, 2) it has not dried out enough, in this case no problem, just remove and dry out a little more. This is also a personal choice, some people like it drier in the 50% plus range. Whatever you do, research and preserve. At that time burping is no longer required. Cannabis will reach its peak potency potential at about 40 or so days into the cure. The finished product should be a perfect grind when cured correctly without clogging up your grinder, this could take a month. Now that I’ve said that, I’m sure someone has grown something that they have not been able to grind. It can remain in this state for an easy 6 months with little change, locking in all the terpenes and potencies. All you need to do is occasionally check the product to ensure there are no molds. If your grow/harvest/cure techniques are good this should not be an issue. It would not be uncommon to find many cannabis strains will last, with small degradable change, for up to one year after being stored this way. Using an airtight glass container, controlled relative humidity, maintained low temperature, and kept in darkness will equal maximum shelf life. Always avoid direct sunlight and temperatures above 80 degrees F. The reasons I’ve ultimately chosen Deep Water Culture as a grow medium. Each has their own pros and cons indeed. I found the most efficient, less maintenance and ideal solution for my situation was DWC. Burdens to overcome depend on size up set-up; initial equipment cost, size of containers, ph monitors, air pumps, type of water to use-reverse osmosis, RO cost/set-up/maintenance, ways to transfer/change water and nutrients, what nutrients to use and schedules, takes several grows to learn and understand, a 1 year learning curv, easy to nutrient burn. The Benefits of growing in water; no dirt, no bugs, no diseases, rare nutrient deficiencies/toxicities, steady and rapid growth that enables the plant to reach its genetic potential. After harvest, there is about a 1 hour equipment cleanup, sterilization and turn around process before replanting. Cannabis will perform in so many different ways and mediums, no one way is the best and the best way is the one you are using, right. Chose what works for you in the long run. There will always be an initial cost in set-up. My advice if one were in need to cut corners, I would not recommend cheap lights. This single factor is the most critical, afford for the best. The notion that organic and water has a different taste, flavor and potency effect is absolutely debatable. The more we learn the better we grow and experience is always the best teacher. This is what works for me and my methods of growing in general from beginning to end. A BIG “Thank You” to everyone who stopped by to take a look. My next diary will start at the beginning of October 2023 with a Forbidden Runtz Auto. There will be minor differences during the grow. I enjoy Auto strains simply by what can be achieved in a short time. No matter the strain they will unveil one thing in common, the demand for attention. Many times over it is the anecdotal gardener that surmount plant scientist. Last should I mention, do not forget to stop and enjoy the fruits of your labour...

Plant starts off slower than others. But once she’s in flower and starts packing on resin and changing colors, everything changes. The plant reeks of funky terps and citrus and just stinky goodness. The colors are crazy ranging from pink to blue and purple. Highly recommend this strain and she produces super fat sticky buds. She’s a keeper.

Start of week 3 for Black Lebanon by SSSC These girls just got their day 21 strip.. Pheno 3 didn't get a massive strip because she seems to be a few days behind everyone else so I'm going to wait before i do the same to her but i did snip a few fan leaves that were blocking light. They've been getting fairly watered heavy when they do get watered 2/3 times a week but I'm trying to water more often in smaller amounts. Pheno 1 & 2 have been stretching like crazy😍Was really hoping pheno 4 would catch up but doesn't seem like the case. Plants are loving the Taurus TRS600 every time i come in they are praying. The feed is BioBloom by greenhouse Feeding at 2.5g per L of medium.

9/8 D65 Seems our "good" weather is ending and if the forecast is correct for the next three days, only three of the last ten were sunny. That aint good folks not sure what can be done about it outside of artificial light and that would go on the ATF if any were available. Ah well learning is fun She looks good just needs some blasted sun Zombie is thriving, go figure Full feed yesterday 9/10 Sunless days continue, maybe two hours sun today then the rain moved in and the temp dropped... global warming my arse The forecasts were correct now I can only hope that continues as it is forecast for much better the next 2 days and then right back to this mess. 9/11 Yep today was a big improvement glad to have it 9/13 Day 70 New vids, top dressing seems to have triggered a new run of bud building on both Gloria and zombie Quasimodo (cant kill some of these Mex Air plants). The moster crop growth pattern is interesting as hell just letting it grow. Gloria looks to be building a basketball bud on top :) Weather degrading harvest in a couple weeks max trics say same

The High intensity was to strong (clearly my fault) in the beginning which stunted her overall stretch, she however still delivered super dense, terpene and trichome loaded buds.

Plant A (left side) started pushing through the medium first after 48 hours. Plant B germinated successfully at 96hrs but due to cold climate and moisture in the seed the seed got too cold and turned to mush. At 96hrs Plant A had reached 1.25" and had started to spread the first set of leaves. It is now approximately 2" tall and the first fan leaves are about 1/3" long. Growth is steady and effortless for this girl. So far the self watering set up, grow light, and medium have been treating plant A great. After 60hrs she became fully exposed. Plant B germinated as stated before and died, Plant C was planted 5 days into the germination week of Plant A. No pre-soak, just dry seeds dropped directly into the medium. Miracle Grow myth has so far been proven wrong (performance organics, not regular potting soil). In addition to the set up, I found a water bottle diffuser I have on a 6hr rotation (6 on and 6 off) that I found for $9USD at a grocery outlet. Humidity now steady at 31% on the gauge and about 65% Relative Humidity. Temps sit steady around 68-71°F. Shooting for 360g or 180g from each plant utilizing LST. We are seeing if organic miracle grow has enough nutes for an autoflower, with 3 months of nutrients as stated from the bag it should end up timing out perfectly for harvest time with no flushing needed as nutrients will already be used up.

Thank you for checking out week 3 of my Stracciatella DWC grow! Quite a bit of growth this week, despite me running into quite a few problems this week, we had a heat wave and I was not prepared, causing some heat stress. I topped the plant at the 5th node and added some LST anchors, I will be topping her a few more times whilst low stress training . I'm still going with the same strategy of adding organics during the weekend, but I'm still not sure about it, especially not with the heat, Power roots does discolour my roots and causes some black gunk to accumulate at the top, I don't like that. speaking of discolouring, Biobizz CalMag makes my water super cloudy, which I hope is normal. I'll be moving my tent to a better climate soon, I do believe the heat further stunted my plant, She's still doing well however and it should be smooth sailing going forward, Unless nature throws something else my way. That's it for this week, I also shuffled some of the week 1 and germination photos around, since the 3 day week was bothering me. Thank you for checking out my Diary, Keep growing!
