Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. This girl continued to fade out but at the end of the week the trichomes were barely cloudy. Peace! I finally defoliated a bunch of the dead leaves. Oh, and I finally pulled out the tape measure. She's 44" tall. Google it if you need a metric conversion...

W5 - the plant 🌱hit the flowering stage 👏🍾 After topping in week 3 I left the plant with 3 tiers of branches. A pair at the top developed 2 top buds each growing separately up !!! That means with just one topping I could achieve 4 colas shape plant 🍀 The second lower pair of braches have the same situation 🍀 The lowes tier has one bud for each branch. That could give me 10 separate bud colas if I am lucky!!! This makes me a very happy grower 🙌 😇

If I didn't have the pictures from each week, I'd have a hard time believing they are growing so fast! Pistils have formed on almost all the plants, with Gelat.OG being the furthest along.

Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 6 2/9-15 The Cheese gals are in full flower, the buds are puffing out and stacking. I even see some lower buds connecting to the upper buds and some pistils are turning brown. There is some smell when I open the tent. The F1 genetics are reflected in that these 2 plants are almost identical. I don’t see much difference in their growth so far using the different mediums. Soil and soil/coco blend. Maybe harvest will show a difference in yield from each one. Time will tell. On 2/13 I did major defoliation on my Cheese gals. I removed all large fan leaves and any leaves shading bud sites. Initially, I thought this would be my last defoliation, however I have heard that 1) they continue to grow new leaves until day 20 of flower and 2) there must be enough foliage on the plant to photosynthesize energy. Well, I hope I left enough leaves for energy to keep bulking up the buds. Stretching has slowed down. Both girls grew only an inch and now 17 inches. This is only the end of flower week 2. Controller is set to flower. I add 2 gallons of water to the T700 humidifier daily to keep the VPD in line. 2/9 & 11 4 gal fed 2 liter each nutrients added at ½ of recommended amount. Making 4 gallons since I have 2 pots of carrots and a Dill in the back. LST only pheno is turning purple and the topped one is forming bigger bud packed with resin. They are progressing rapid now. 3 to 4 weeks to go

It was fun growing Critical+ 2.0 and really recommend it for any new grower who would love to experience his first smoke from his personal garden

overfed with K so they are looking a little rough, so I will not be feeding them anything but water for the next week at least, see how they recover.

Day 64. All is good, one Mimoza ( off course biggest ) didn't liked new house ... Maybe after this one she will bounce back. The rest of the girls are going, think it's 10 days max left for two smallest plant in a week few more will be ready, the rest - around the floor .... Too croudy, no love, hope extra lightning will hurry them up, . I'll have Mars SP3000 soon to add. Gave full feed today, other two waterings will be plain water. Some selective defoliation here and there ... Day 69. Second day after few girls went outdoors. I need more light, but I will get it in a week only. Happy Growing !!!
