Wow what a week this has been, the plants have all undergone fair dramatic changes. A real flurry of leaf yellowing, pistil darkening/curling, and bug swelling. The smell is really coming along now, I think we're really quite close to harvest. On the assumption that pre-flowering was two weeks, this strain should be ready at the end of week seven flowering, so in the case of this diary the end of week nine (i.e. one week to go!). Pistils are about 70-80% amber, and the lower pistils on buds have started curling inward. Trichomes look to me to be something like 10% clear 80% Milky 10% White. I have smoke tested a small bud off the lower part of plant 3 today after quick-drying overnight in the airing cupboard, taking into consideration the obvious chlorophyll from the fast dry, the high was much closer to what I am expecting than the last smoke test. It came on at the normal pace, was quite effective, and lasted a good while. I am really hoping I can navigate my way through the next process, as I feel quite close now to having some home grown bud for the first time. The plants are being well watered this evening with just water, and this will be the last time that I water them until harvest. I will continue to monitor these daily, I intend to harvest at the first sign of any amber trichome. Advice and comments welcomed. P.S. Exciting news! We've had a fairly warm week for our part of the world...I hope it holds out, I'd really like another 4 weeks....

The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures are in the mid 50's℉, which shouldn't be long. After which, she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes from BioTabs and slow release dry amendments from Gaia Green. Once she's established herself outside she'll be given periodic top dressings of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 along with worm castings and Compost Tea's. Her grow area is approx. 5'x5' and I have posts and a trellis net set up already for when she gets bigger to aid in training her. This week the new growth of the plants transitioned from looking relatively healthy to droopy and yellowed. I wasn't sure what the issue was at first and thought it might be light stress. After more research, I determined that I had what looked very much like a zinc deficiency, which is almost always a symptom of over-watering, which is the most common mistake for new growers, i.e. "Me". I had assumed that adding a good amount of perlite to my soil and using smart pots would prevent me from running in to any drainage issues but I guess not. I was up to 1.5 liters per plant when I realized that it was too much. I also realized I was misreading my syringe which I use to mix nutrients, and that i had been giving only 1/10 of the liquid nutrients that I thought. I'm super embarrassed about the mistake but I'm going for full transparency here, so there it is. Course correction takes places after day 31.

Seed sat in glass of luke warm rain water till it sank , then moved to paper towel for total 24 hrs till sprouted then planted in its main soil medium 45L, popped less then 24 hours ... Last bit of supercropping, keep the canopy low as possible 08/22/2018 #5 is the only 9 fingered leaves plant, all other GTH plants have 5 & 7 finger leaves, #5 took 3 clones she's my keeper of this batch. She is very diesely citrus,musky smell.can smell her at 90". #4 similar smell not as much stink. #3 minty chlorophyll smell. #2 orange,citrusy,mint. Ps. Gonna hit a selected branch or 2 of GTH #5 with mystery cookie males pollen I saved from earlier pollen harves. Got both plants started and transferred into the Hydro setup, both seem to be growing well. I just recently installed 2 UV B lights on the wall that turn on for a few hours mid day. Interested to see if I notice a difference with them in there.

I should have more room for this one in the next 2 to 3 weeks, then I can start growing her. I am flexing my gro knowhow muscles by keeping this one as small as possible for as long as I need it to without killing it. Sometimes this technique will come in handy so it is good to practice it.

Germination day! First time grower. For my first time grow I decided to try my luck with autoflowers. The reason why was due to grow time, as I am growing for personal use I would like to switch up my strains every grow. For this grow I have went for Auto Daiquiri Lime by Dutch Passion - US Genetics catalogue, & Auto Royal Cookies by Royal Queen Seeds. After countless months of research, YouTube videos, grow guides, forms and speaking with friends who grow. I decided I would try a hydro grow in rockwool & coco. Day 1 plan: -1.5" rockwool cube x2 - ph'd to 5.5 - Rockwool cube placed inside of zip locked baggy (to help regulate humidity and keep rockwool damp) - Bagged rockwool place inside propagator - Hygrometer placed inside propagator to monitor temperature & humidity - Propagator placed on seeed heat mat inside grow tent. - Mars hydro 300W L.E.D placed 12" above propagator I hooked up my 360 camera so that I could monitor the temperature with ease from my phone and not have to constantly climb into my roof space. Next steps in 2-3 days time I will hopefully see signs of life and I will start to regulated my seedlings to the transition from propagator to grow tent environment. By day 4-5 I will transplant into a 4" rockwool cube. Stay tuned guys and watch me learn.
