Tough going first few weeks going to look close on the postmortem for the roots and see if I can tell what was causing the issues with Phos, Ca, Mg lockouts. Foliar saved the day Was very disappointed in the germination rate which caused delays in grow cycle and threw off my whole grow system. It forced me into 7 gallon pots to try and save the yield and THAT may be where the issues arose with the pots, I had to use another bin of soil for the extra soil. Still I should have known better and just stuck with the 5 gallon pots but was trying to get yield. Worked too on Layla and Maggie, nothing was going to help the stunting on Brandy which I dropped from the grow. So 60% germination is not acceptable unless its tomatoes... Dont get me wrong though, this strain has a LOT of good qualities, it not only survived my foul up but produced one excellent plant and one monster out of the three that germed. May try it again next year, think it would be stellar in coco. Beyond that a quality product, just had issues. This week they started show va lot of yellow leaves, I was addind some more nutrients since I Think they can still fatten a bit more. On some of them you can see there are some crunchy leaves , which bothers me a bit.. is it normal? One of them is not drinking that much water lately so I'm just feeding it with water, hopefully I can harvest it within a week a or less, the rest of them are still drinking a lot so I'll keep feeding them with nutrients but with only 2ml/ Lt Smell is super strong and even with the carbon filter the whole room smells like poison, hahaha, luckily i the rest of the house smell it's barely noticeable Looking forward to harvest and finish everything, this last period is has been the toughest cuz I need to know when exactly to start the root wash

In this week I can easily recognise the positive impact on the growth of moving the plants to the bigger pots, they increased the growth rate so much. #1 is 55cm tall (21+ inches), it still displays 9 pointed leaves above the internode where it started as reported in previous week diary page #2 is 54cm tall (21 inches), it displays couple leaves with 8 points and one or 2 new leaves seems to have 9 as well, I will confirm once they grow more #3 is 34cm tall (13 inches), this is the one that got problem in beginning (read previous page for more details), it is doing its best to recover and get to the same level of the other 2. I see only max 7 pointed leaves so far. Please share with me your thoughts about it, here's a n00b that likes to learn!

This plant is pure gold. It’s incredibly healthy and while my other plants are starting to get attacked by thrips a bit this plant seems unaffected 😎. I am up to 16 tops at this point so I have one more round of topping to get to the desired (32) amount of tops. After that it will just be maintenance and watching her in all her glory. I hope I can keep this lady wishing the limits of my greenhouse 😅. Humboldt nailed it with this genetic mix! Onward !!! 😎🍿🍻

Haven’t done anything, other than start a full dose regiment of nutrients this week. Working on a bigger light situation for my large tent, in the meantime space is limited 😢

Finally time to chop off the second plant. Harvested just when about 5-10% of crystals have turned to ember color in an attempt to get the most upper effect out of this sativa. Noticed yet again some bugs on the leafs, luckily enough they only showed up in noticing numbers towards the end but ffs I'm getting tired of soil, especially after trying hydro. My main conclusion is that BioBizz soil is just not good to use as is, no matter what, it ends up not draining water well enough.

Day 66 : Her buds are full of crystals and are so dense. The smell is really strong stinky skunk like GZ , but GZ smell is more acidic. Her crystals are milky and soon will start to amber. Breeder refers that will be pretty mature in 70 days. Not in my case :D we will see in 4 days, in next watering. For now no ambers. I prefer to cut when we have 15%-20% amber and 80%-85% milky, because after the smoke is very heavy for my taste. Edit Day 70 : She watered with juices and i continue until i see first signs of amber trichomes. Still no ambers. She has gained so much weight , side branches cant lift their self. I think she will be the heavier. You can understand her weight if u lift it.

I like to defoliate well just before flower especially lower parts to expose bud sites so light gets trough and some larger top leaves but not too many so I don't shock the plant too much

This week things have stabilised a bit, my bigger humidifier came on D26, so hopefully that will help slow transpiration a little! Not really much to report, plants are growing okay, one of them is still struggling a bit, they’ve all been topped for the second time. As I have one plant per 4ft sq, I think I might only mainline to 4 mains, haven’t decided yet! Have bought a Torus Hydro PH balancer, will see if that helps with the PH swings going forward 🧐 Happy growing guys!

Happy New Year!!! Over the past week I did some HST bending. The branches are starting to recover and straighten out after the HST now. I still have some issues with pale leaves and a few spots here and there. I’m going to try adding some Dolomite Lime with the next watering and think that should help with the paleness. I’m also going to up the amount of CalMag and Mammoth P to see if that helps with the spotting. I’m not sure if I should see the spotted leaves recover or if the spots will remain. I suspect the spots will remain on the existing leaves regardless of what I do at this point, but hopefully no new spotting will develop. The lights went off before I was done taking pics, so some pics will look a little different. The pics with the lights on I had to color correct, they still look a little more on the yellow side than in reality, but much closer to reality than the pre-color corrected versions. Once the lights went off I turned the flash on for my camera, those pics did not need any color correction. You can see the differences in the pics of all plants, the first 2 are color corrected with the lights on, the last 2 are taken with a flash and no color correction. I read several books on cannabis over the past few days, some good, some not so much. One that I liked was “Marijuana Cultivation Reconsidered: The Science and Techniques For Huge Indoor Yields” by Read Spear. This book is available on Amzon’s Kindle Unlimited service, which costs $9.99/month, but they offer a free 30 day trial (which is what I’m using at the moment). Reed’s book is broken down into 3 sections, the first and third go fairly deep into the science behind growing, he does a pretty good job at breaking it down in easy to understand terms, but I had to read several sections 2 or 3 times to really get it (or just move on with as much understanding as I could digest). The second section is the nuts and bolts of growing. Most was a review but there were several topics he touched on I hadn’t thought of in a while. And again its well written. He also offers the section only in a separate book called “Small Spaces, Big Yields”. If you are not interested in going deeper into the science behind growing, “Small Spaces, Big Yields” is what I would recommend (if interested in reading books on cannabis). I took some notes while reading and I’m going to add some of these notes in my dairy updates over the next few weeks. This week I’m going to include a note on electrical, this should be a fairly basic concept, but it is super important IMO… “Electrical Items In a sealed grow room or in a tent, you will have water pooling on the floor from time to time. There is no avoiding this. Mop it up when you see it, and never put your electrical gear directly on the floor. Never. Not even for a moment. In fact, let me stress this point in bold capital letters. ALL ELECTRICAL GEAR MUST BE MOUNTED SECURELY ON A WALL OR TENT POLE.” -Read Spear I’ll add more did bits like this in my diaries over the upcoming weeks. If anyone has any good book recommendations please let me know in the comments. I’m looking for books that might not be as popular as the ones by Jorge Cervantes or Ed Rosenthal (I’ve read those). I did just order “True Living Organics” by The Rev which I’m looking forward to reading. But I’m looking for more. I really want to step it up and learn as much as possible.
