Week 4 Flower – Supercrop Week: Taming the Moon-Shooter Both Sundae Driver girls are thriving, stacking bud sites and frosting up fast. Pheno #2 tried to aim for the moon, so this week I performed a supercrop to keep the canopy even and unlock more lateral sites. She bounced back within days and is already curving up; new sites are catching light beautifully. I also did a light, targeted defoliation to open airflow, nothing heavy. Feed & Mix (this week) Testing a hybrid Aptus + Plagron approach at low solution EC to complement the rich, pre-amended soil. • Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml/L • Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml/L • Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml/L • Aptus CalMag Boost – light dose, just to keep LED demand covered Why low feed? The living/“easy” soil we built is still hot and active (medium EC ~2.96 mS/cm), so I’m keeping the solution EC ~0.4–0.5 mS/cm with pH ~6.1. That lets the soil do most of the work while I steer with gentle inputs and avoid salt stacking or tip burn. ⸻ Deep Dive: Supercropping (What, Why, When, How) What it is Supercropping is a high-control, high-reward training move: you soften (pinch) the inner stem tissues and bend the stem over without tearing the skin. The plant heals with a strong “knuckle,” redistributes hormones, and pushes more energy to side shoots. Result: flatter canopy, better light use, more productive sites. Why do it (Week 4 Flower)? • Pheno #2 outpaced the canopy and was nearing the lights • Even canopy = more uniform PPFD and bud development • Bending redirects auxins to lower sites → more usable bud sites • A late stretch check without heavy cutting Best timing • Ideal: late veg through early flower stretch (Weeks 2–4 of flower) while stems are still pliable. • Later than Week 4: be more cautious—stems lignify and snap easier. Step-by-step 1. Hydrate first: Slightly hydrated plants bend better than very dry ones. 2. Choose the internode you want to lower (usually the tall outlier). 3. Pinch and roll the stem gently between thumb and forefinger for 5–10 seconds to soften the pith. 4. Bend to ~45–90° toward an open space in the canopy. 5. Support: If the skin shows micro-cracks, wrap loosely with plant tape; add a soft tie or stake to hold position. 6. Aftercare: Keep airflow up, avoid heavy feeding changes for 24–48h, and don’t stack stress (no major pruning at the same time). What to expect after • Leaves may droop for a few hours; prayer and curve-up typically return within 24–72 hours. • A hardened knuckle forms in 3–7 days, strengthening the stem. • Side sites along the bent branch accelerate; top re-orients upward. • Usually less foxtailing later because tops are kept at ideal distance from the light. Risks & how to avoid them • Snap/tear: Don’t bend dry or cold stems; soften first and bend slowly. • Infection: If skin splits, tape loosely and keep humidity in check. • Over-stressing: Avoid combining with heavy defol or big feed changes on the same day. ⸻ Canopy & Care Notes • Minor defoliation only this week—just a few broad fans that shaded key sites. I prefer leaf tucking elsewhere to preserve photosynthetic “engines.” • Aroma is coming on; both phenos are stacking clean white pistils with visible trichome build on sugar leaves. • I took the girls outside the tent for a careful studio shoot—this might be the last time. Medium: Yep - still gonna beat on the DWC drum. It just gets better and easier every run. Almost religiously changed out the res. every week and this was definitely overkill. Could’ve easily gotten away with every 10 days to 2 weeks. Stuck with peroxide this run again instead of going with bennies via hydroguard or hygrozyme. The results speak for themselves on a 6 week veg. That’s for sure. Still save’n them dolla bills on the nutes too. Minimal nute mixing (as well as simplistic regime) and for what we’re using in each res. - gotta be easily a 50-60% savings on nute consumption vs. more traditional methods. Honestly makes one wonder why organic soil grows are seemingly all the rage. I’ve found terp. Profiles, structure, plant health and of course yields to all be just that much better in straight water. What more can I say, we love our DWC. Method 🎚️🎚️🎚️ The dueling methods were the whole point of this grow. Our best attempt to illustrate the differences between LST vs. LST/Topping ie. just how significant is the difference in terms of overall production? The truth of this test is a bit of a double edged sword. On the one hand, topping does have a significant effect on overall yield. This fact is regardless of whether or not from seed or clone.That said and when it comes to clones, you still have to be mindful of the drawbacks of further dividing (and thus reducing nug size for) main branches. Our topped clone #2 is a perfect example of this. While the structure demonstrates significantly more branching, the nug sizes are also significantly smaller. As you’ll see in the yield details it does somewhat make up for this through a higher overall weight but it was also a much less manageable plant than #1. Root mass on the topped plant was heavier and bulkier, drinking much more water than its counterpart. And in late flower half the plant was pretty much falling over. While some of this is attributable to the extremely hollow stems (and thus a carbon deficiency), making the most of the grow light proved difficult with the topped plant as bushy as it was. Basic summary - if ur cloning for profit or efficiency, stick with straight LST and grow a whole bunch of em. If I had to do it again I don’t think i would’ve bothered with topping - just for the sake of greater ease🤔🤔🤔. Then again, I’m greedy as fuck when it comes to my yields so I Could totally see myself trying to max everything out and go for broke🤙🤙. 3/5 volume bars for the rating - we accomplished what we were trying to. Yield/Harvest🌴🌴🌴🌴 Awwwwwe yeah - down to where it counts and these girls were champs💪. While internodal spacing was longer than necessary and overall bud size was smaller than average; these plants pushed out some solid weight👍😎👍. Ran er through a 7 day dry and all jarred up on a slow cure. Final numbers: Total yield - clone #1: 5.14oz = 143.92g Total yield - clone #2: 6.01oz = 168.28g Approx. est. yield: 600g/m2 divides by 4.8, multiplied by 2 (approx. for 2/3 the cabinets sq/ft) = 250g per 0.41m2 Actual yield: 11.15oz. per 0.41m2 = 312.2g per 0.41m2. That is some seriously good production right there😎👍😎. The high end avg. for this strain is 650g/m2. When you crush that out to my space and the numbers above, it works to about 270g per 0.41m2. Our actual yield still destroys the high end avg. by almost a zip and a half👍👍👍. The cree cob does it again. Fuck’n jazz hands y’all🙌! With results like these you could really give the whole grow a 9/10. It’s only an 8 in my book because it’s not my preferred high. Otherwise, any time you’re north of 5+ oz. per plant, it’s a good day at the office👍👍. Props👊👊👊 No choice but to shoutout Humboldt genetics. These beans have treated me so well and I can’t say enough Good things about the strains this organization puts out👌👍👌. Other than that, thanks to everyone who dropped by for a look and a comment. Smells like new shoes lol I think I made a decent haul off 315 Watts the buds look frosted and I can’t wait to dry some. I knew what to expect in the coming weeks and if I run this again I think I’ll keep the plants shorter like last time. Highly recommend this Indica strain to anymore looking to make dry ice hash or solvent less! I’ll do the weigh in shortly0

Hi. Unfortunately, I can't write much, I even left last week without comment, although the plants got stressed on it in the form of a lack of water. I increased the amount of watering. This week, the bushes have already become noticeably cramped, I cannot transfer them to flowering for technical reasons, besides, the clone has not grown enough yet. I very much hope that the bushes will not get another stress from the crowding and I will soon be able to change mode to 12/12

Slow growth this week. I was away this week for work and my wife watered for me from a spray bottle. About 30 sprays or so. Maybe not quite enough. Day 20 dropped the light to 21. I gave the soil a good watering with higher than normal nutrients Root booster 2 ml/l, bud juice 5ml/l, calmag 2ml/l. Ec was 1.5 with soil that has slow release nutrients. Next watering is going to be just pH water. Then back to the scheduled program

Week 2 of vegetative growth for Pineapple Upside Down – Round 2. The plant is still struggling at this stage. Development is slower than expected for week two, and overall vigor remains below what would normally be considered healthy growth. Reading the plant has been difficult, as no single factor clearly stands out as the root cause. Several parameters are being questioned: excess humidity, temperature management, light intensity, or nutrient balance. Overfeeding seems unlikely, as the last watering was done with a very light EC, around 0.3 to 0.4. Light levels are also modest, approximately 180–200 PPFD, which should normally be safe for a young plant. The pH was checked and appears to be within an acceptable range. Because the substrate is already sufficiently moist from previous watering around the plant, no additional irrigation has been done. At this point, adding more water would likely do more harm than good. A small adjustment was made by slightly opening the dome to improve airflow and reduce excess humidity. This should help the plant breathe better and potentially stabilize its environment. Temperature may also be adjusted if needed, depending on how the plant responds over the coming days. This second week highlights ongoing difficulties in managing early growth stages. There is clearly room for improvement in the startup protocol, and this phase is being treated as a learning process for future cycles. For now, the strategy remains simple: minimize interventions, maintain stable conditions, and allow the plant time to recover its natural rhythm. The next update will focus on whether growth resumes normally or if further adjustments are required.

Plants have been scroged and are almost covering the hole net , knowing that they are going to strech for the first three weeks of flower, I'll be switching lights to a 12/12 cycle on the upcoming days . Happy growing y'all !

I guess from when I drowned it I caused a lurking issue that really showed it's head today. The roots were looking not slightly bleached but looking black. I cut out what looked dead and I had to run to the local Hydro shop to pick up some items to see if I can fix it and strengthen the plants. I picked up Mammoth Silica, ORCA, and ROOT Drip. Nothing new on the leaves at all. So I think the trio that I added is helping. The plants also seem to be in raised happy position going towards the light. I still plan to change the water on Saturday and go from there. 3/10/2023 Week 3- Day 6 of Veg (Day 37 overall) Moved the light up to 41 1/2" so 3' 4 1/2" away from the top of the Plants. PPFD= 363 Power on my Light =62.5 Water Temp is holding steady=70.3 PPM= 534 PH= 5.92 Tent Temp= 72.5 Humidity= 50-60% I have 2 humidifiers running on INK Bird controllers monitoring it 24/7. I will be changing out the water tomorrow even though I could let it go an extra week but I am still concerned that the Root Rot is clearing up and I don't want to risk it coming back. I want fresh Nutes/ water in the tanks. I topped 2 nodes on #3 I topped 3 Nodes on #2 I also cleaned out some of the bottom third portion that isn't getting much light and not much growth at all. #2: 8 1/2" tall, 18" Wide #3: 7 1/2" Tall, 15" Wide

On day 3 -4 of 5 seeds have germinated! On day 4 all 4 seedlings were fed 500 ppm veg nutes. On day 5 seedlings were transplanted into 4" nursery pots with myco. I watered them in with 600 ppm of feed. Ppfd 450-500.
