As of day 28, the Blue Dream'Matic has been growing very vigorously with tons of branching. I have added to the plant's timelapse to include the previous weeks growth. I have begun training it wide, and considering it is not yet in its flowering stretch, it will be a pretty good sized auto. I am sticking with around 1.2ms/cm during fertigation as any higher than that produces leaf tip issues for this plant. Any lower leaf issues seem to have stopped and all the new growth is healthy. Its very close to switching over to flowering, so I will be transitioning the nutrients and updating the diary to reflect that. Thanks for reading! 👍🌱 Day 30: flowering has begun. Going well this week. Playing around with the cycle times courtesy of my new find, a 20$ repeat cycle timer. We will switch to flower as soon as the tent is available, hopefully do this entire grow on fog alone.😬 Root prune test, two plants on the right are getting pruned, the left are not. The goal is to build thick tap roots to form a beard-like rhizome. The largest root is roughly 5mm diameter. I believe it's working.

This is part of a gentle, prolonged flush phase I like to implement, giving the plants a chance to metabolize and fade naturally. The goal is to promote clean, vibrant flowers that finish with optimal expression, without rushing the process. No forced flush, just time and care. Lighting-wise, the spectrum has been tuned with precision — we’re currently running 40% on the whites, with reds and UVs at 100% to drive trichome development, resin production, and color expression in these final days. The plants are loving it — they’re soaking in the deeper wavelengths that signal the end of their life cycle and responding with a final push of energy. And yes — we’ve been running 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness from the very start of flower. It’s not the usual 12/12, and it comes with its pros and cons. On the upside, it helps speed up ripening slightly, encourages more compact flower formation, and mimics the natural seasonal decline in daylight. On the flip side, it slightly reduces the overall DLI (daily light integral), so you need to ensure your PPFD and spectrum are dialed in just right to avoid sacrificing yield. This is the sister diary of the Runtz showdown, in which we pit two great performing strains created by two highly acclaimed and respected breeders, in a duel to the death. This diary features the RUNTZ XL AUTO strain by SweetSeeds. In the meantime, all seeds have germinated and seemed to have a level start. Also here we loaded the grow with our magical intentions as we sowed on Imbolc, the celebration day of the Goddess of spring: Bridget. We cant wait to see where this will lead us. Both strains will have the exact same conditions, lighting, care and nutrition. This week I moved them into bigger pots, which is why I think now they were not growing as big as I hoped. They seem to be doing well, and I have added the net now and will let the canopy build up. Since I moved to bigger pots, I did not need to water for a bit, but I think it will be back to normal this week. Check out the video I did today of the room.

Willkommen zur achten Woche – Blütewoche 4 liegt hinter uns Wouw – acht Wochen sind schon wieder vorbei! Leider kommt das Update diesmal etwas verspätet, da mich eine Krankheit kurzfristig ausgebremst hat. Die Woche selbst verlief allerdings sehr ruhig. Die tägliche Arbeit ist inzwischen auf ein absolutes Minimum gesunken, da die Ladys ihre Routine gefunden haben und konstant weiterarbeiten. Die Entwicklung bleibt – wie in den Wochen zuvor – durchweg hervorragend. Fast die gesamte Blütezeit liegt bisher im absoluten Sweetspot, was sich nicht nur sehen, sondern trotz Filter und konstantem Unterdruck auch deutlich riechen lässt. Das Terpenprofil ist bereits jetzt sehr ausgeprägt. Es verteilt einen intensiven, süßen Duft im Raum, der stark an Zitrone, Limone und andere fruchtige Aromen erinnert. Besonders spannend ist dabei, dass sich die Aromen trotz der Geruchsfilterung gut durchsetzen – ein deutlicher Hinweis auf ein kräftiges Terpenprofil und gesunde Pflanzen. In puncto Wachstum hat vor allem die kleine Nachzüglerin in dieser Woche ordentlich aufgeholt. Mit über 37 cm Zuwachs steht sie nun bei beachtlichen 98 cm. Die Pflanze unten rechts hat sich auf 105 cm gestreckt, oben rechts misst nun 83 cm. Und der dominante Sativa-Phänotyp hat es mittlerweile sogar auf stolze 130 cm geschafft. Da sich das Höhenwachstum bei den meisten weitgehend abgeschlossen hat, geht nun sichtbar mehr Energie in die Ausbildung der Blütenstände – und das merkt man. Die Buds haben in der letzten Woche ordentlich an Volumen und Harz zugelegt und wirken schon jetzt vielversprechend. Nährstofftechnisch habe ich Green Sensation inzwischen durch Canna PK 13/14 ersetzt. Zusätzlich kam Cannazym zum Einsatz, um die große Wurzelmasse gesund zu halten und den Stoffwechsel zu unterstützen. Leaf-Tucking wird weiterhin regelmäßig angewendet, um den unteren Trieben Licht zu verschaffen, ohne die Pflanzen unnötig zu belasten. Zudem wurden die Ladys in dieser Woche ein letztes Mal entlaubt, um die Luftzirkulation zu verbessern und den Fokus voll auf die Blütenbildung zu lenken. Besonders zufrieden bin ich aktuell mit der Klimasteuerung – VPD, Luftfeuchtigkeit und Temperatur sind sehr stabil und genau im gewünschten Bereich. Das schafft optimale Bedingungen für die Photosynthese und fördert die Harzbildung in dieser entscheidenden Phase. Insgesamt bleibt es spannend. Der Platz im Zelt ist inzwischen sichtlich zu knapp, was die Luftzirkulation und Lichtverteilung etwas erschwert. Trotzdem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem bisherigen Verlauf und freue mich auf die kommenden Wochen – denn jetzt geht es langsam auf die Zielgerade zu.

Week 5 begins for LSD and Green Crack! The LSD ladies had the most yellowing over the last week, yet they have the most frost on the buds. The Green Crack ladies had a little bit of yellowing and has bigger buds, but no frost at this time. They all seem very happy in their new 4x8 home. 8/19. I notice some fading on the older leaves. Looking back at what I been feeding. Looks like I been getting ready for bud, but she hasn't. So tomorrow I'm giving her a solid nitrogen feed. She is growing like crazy. Only makes sense 8/20 Gave her a solid feeding of N. Foxfarm Grow Big. 30 mls in 2 gallons of water. She is getting to be voluptuous, so hopefully I made the right move. 8/22 gallon and a half of tea. This time cow poop and worm castings. She is showing definite signs of flowers. Next watering I'm going to feed her nuits for flowering. Few days ago she was fed a good amount of Foxfarm Grow Big. She is a good size plant, so I'm sure I can get away with another feeding. Just going to make sure there is not a lot of nitrogen. She is forming her colas. Think I'm just starting to see how big she really is. 8/24 and have not had to water for 2 days. Rain and not that hot, however the heat is back. So she is going to be thirsty.
