Day 42: Went on vacation for 3 weeks, asked a friend to take care of my plants and make pictures and videos. He gave them feedings, did some defoliation but it is hard from a distance to guide him how to train or to defoliate.

Hello. This the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of veg. Did a little trimming on these plants last week. Getting the training going. Will be using a SCRoG method on them in the greenhouse this summer. So I want them to spread out. I topped all of them and took off 2 large fan leaves per plant, that were blocking the under branches, that were trying to push up through them. I've lowered the light to about 20 inches away, and turned it up to about 45%. So the new branches are getting lots of light. They are getting just about full strength nutrient when I water them now. Next watering will be just water though. I do 2 feedings and then a watering and they are doing good. Every couple of days I spray some mixed peppermint essential oil around in here to help keep the pest away. Pest hate the peppermint smell. 5/23/21 - First day of flower. In the pictures we did a flush on both plants and let all the runoff stop. We cut off the small, insignificant grow sites so the upper big flowers bud. We put the plants back in the closet after flush and changed the light to a 12/12 cycle. 5/24/21 - The soil is still pretty wet from the flush so I didn’t feed today. They are looking good! 5/25/21 - Watered with the nutrients today. They are looking good. A couple weeks and the flowers should open. 5/26/21 - Fed with nutrients as I will everyday until flush. They are responding to the bloom light and light schedule. 5/27/21 - Fed them today. See pictures. They are looking good! I might lower the light some more and see how they do. 5/28/21 - Watered with the nutrients. The plants are slowly opening up. It’s exciting to see. The smell is normal now. 5/29/21 - Fed both plants today. They are drinking a lot more. Tomorrow will be week 2 of flower :)

This way i can easily move the pots in and out the tent to weigh them. I also moved the oscilating fan from underneath the canopy to above the canopy. This is because the leaves gets hotter as i increase the light's power output. The Gorilla Kush #2 and the Chemdog #2 are showing some heat stress. Before i watered them i weigh the pots. Dry weight: Chemdog #1: 4.2 kg Chemdog #2: 5.0 kg Added 10L to the reservoir. Opened the reservoir for a couple of minutes. 3-5 Temperature: 26.2 degrees (lights on) 19.9 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 61% (highest) 47% (lowest) No pictures. Hello growers, Welcome back for vegetative week 14 of the Pineapple Upside Down from Humboldt. This week was clearly a difficult one. The plant is still growing, but something was off. The overall development slowed down, and the lack of vigor became more noticeable compared to previous weeks. After checking all the usual parameters, the issue finally became clear. The reservoir pH was perfectly stable, sitting in the correct range around 5.7–5.9. However, the real problem was happening in the tray. The nutrient solution was sitting there for too long, and the pH was drifting significantly, reaching around 6.8. This caused the coco substrate to buffer at the wrong pH level, leading to a partial nutrient lockout. Since the plant wasn’t drinking enough, the solution had time to degrade and shift, which is one of the limitations of the Autopot system when the plant is not actively feeding. To correct the situation, I decided to fully reset the system. A complete flush was performed using FlashClean from Terra Aquatica, with a very low EC and a pH adjusted to around 5.5. The goal was to clean the substrate and remove any accumulated imbalance. After the flush, the system was left to drain and stabilize over the weekend. I then restarted feeding manually with a much more controlled approach. Instead of letting the tray stay filled, I used small amounts of nutrient solution at pH 5.7 and EC 1.7, allowing the coco to absorb it before removing any remaining liquid to avoid stagnation. The objective is to progressively bring the substrate back into the correct pH range and restore proper nutrient uptake. This method will be maintained throughout the week to observe how the plant reacts. If the plant shows a strong recovery and regains vigor, the Autopot system will be reactivated. Otherwise, manual control will remain in place. I also performed a light defoliation and cleanup, removing lower growth and excess foliage to improve airflow and light penetration. At this stage, the situation is under control, but the outcome will depend on how the plant responds over the next few days. The next update will be important to confirm whether this recovery strategy was effective. Alright growers, take care and see you next week.

Turned light power to 50%. 15 Aug - Harvested the plant (see pictures). 16 Aug - Began curing process. 💚 Thank you Seedsman Seeds for this opportunity to grow some new genetics from your line up. 📑 Pineapple OG performed well! Her total flowering time was 61 days, and veg time 49 days, for a total of 110 days seed to harvest! With an impressive yield to go with it. From the beginning this plant was a real pleasure to grow. Fast and even spacing between leaf set the stage for strong level branching in height. Not much training was needed during the vegetative stage other than some minor defoliation. One would think this was an F1 or Auto strain with the speed of growth, but it is not. The cross breeding in terpenes has proven to be winner as the smell is very intense with pineapple and sweet tropical scents. The buds swell solid with resins especially in the last weeks of ripening, and are snow covered with trichomes at maturity. I’m sure she would have gotten much bigger had I been set up for a larger plant. I am extremely satisfied with the results produced from these genetics. and would recommend them to anyone wanting to grow a high quality product. 🔥 Smoke Report: 25 Aug - After hanging in a closet for 8 days with RH of 50% and temperature of 70 degrees F, the product was ready for trimming. I decided to try out a large tumbler that was given to me by a good friend. Glad I did! It worked out great! Cutting my trim time down to practically nothing, and making the buds look exceptionally manicured without excessive waste, I’ll continue with this method of trimming in the future. I am pleasantly pleased with the outcome of this grow. Almost 1/2 pound of quality smoke. The buds are solid, resin filled, sticky and smell like a fruity pineapple. The high comes on kind of slow, then settles in for a smooth calming feeling, like the world just slows down a little bit. Leaving you feeling excited and relaxed, lasting for hours. This bud stinks! The different geno type of the payote cookies is really starting to separate itself from the others with pistrols being longer and thinner but with less tricomb coverage. I’m hoping to see some colour changing on the leaves within the next couple of weeks.

// Day 85 I started to give her only water + CalMag at the last watering. That was 3 days ago and today I gave her water + CalMag again. No nutrients anymore, she still has plenty, which you can see by her green leafs. And she is still drinking a lot, which means that she is not near to be done. No fade on her what so ever which is really sad, I was looking forward to some nice colours at the end of flower. It's day 85 already, she does not look ready at all. I'll give her 2 more weeks max., after that I just chop her down no matter how she looks. I go on vacation and want her to dry during that time. I cannot let her stay in the tent when I am gone so that's her last chance. Hopefully she finishes during the next 14 days. For the ones who missed it: I removed a head bud from a side branch because of spider mites. I catch some here and there on the leafs but did not spot another camp yet. Hopefully it stays that way and they're not well hidden inside bud sites. That would be a catastrophe. I'll do a bud wash of course but I doubt that you can flush all their well hidden web-camps out, if more of them exist. Let's just hope that I am lucky this time. // Day 88 Got 3L again, just plain water. No CalMag, no pH adjustment, just hard H20. She does not need anything anymore at this point of life.

Still hanging, slowly drying and result should be decent at the end ... A week more I guess, very humid in UK ... Day 118. First trimmed - 175 g. Other is chopped ! One still grows ... Day 136. Chop day for the last one !!! Long run .... Happy Growing !!!
