Day 120, 9/5, Day 50 of flowering, full week always one week back: Net down and holding in support. The discoloration is starting to spread and I'm still unsure exactly what it is or if there's time to address it at this point. I've got the lights pulled up just bit more, just over 17" to the canopy at the closest spot. Humidity and Temp have been goldilocks as far as I can tell. PPM was 1100 and 6.38pH on the last runoff with small amounts of Molasses, Senizyme, and a tiny bit of CalMag. Bag is 60% FFOF, 30% Coir, 10% additional Perlite. Have been using FF trio as my base at half strength, only other additions have been the occasional Senizyme and some B-52 back in veg. Day 121: Posting a video of entire plant. Having to get a bit creative to keep this lady up. Some more twist ties and a tie up. Day 122: Will feed tonight. Planning a clean feed with a slightly high pH to bring closer to 6.5pH. Fed: 6.8pH, 6L, 71F, 135ppm - Runoff 6.69, 545ppm. Day 123: Going to spend some time tonight trying to get a view of the trichomes without the glare of the LED on, seems I might get a better idea of what's going on. My wife took these pictures in the dark with flash only this morning. Day 124: Well, I think I'm considerably farther along than I initially thought. I think I'm harvesting this weekend? I've at least 60-70% cloudy, and several amber as seen in today's pictures. These are likely the best micro shots I can get. I have a handheld magnifying glass that's hard AF to keep lined up on my phone camera, especially with my shaky hands. On the other hand, these are pretty decent zoom pics, LG V60, so here's some free advertising for them I guess. Considerable yellowing of the leaves seemingly over night. Day 125, Thursday 9/10, Day 55 of flowering: So, I've decided we won't be using the Flawless Finish. I would have, had I another week to water again. Just worried about adding anything as this is my last watering. On my previous clean feed I had a run off in the low 500s, so I'm just going to 'flush' again with plain Ph'd water. Lights on thru Friday, if everything looks good, lights off all day Saturday. Sunday: harvest, trim, and dry! Night 125: So after fretting a bit much over the past two days, I called the guy at my local grow (and home brew!) shop. He advised 50/50 one way or the other on the Flawless, but of it was him he's pass if he was harvest Sunday, as I plan. Watered with plain ol' pH'd water, 6.5 input. The first gallon was warmer ~75F and run off was 6.3pH/1300ppm, second gallon at 70F, 6.5pH/900ppm. Assume the higher ppm is from the higher temp in water for the first gallon, which was done on purpose. Tomorrow is the last day of lights. Day 126: will attempt to get some good trichome shots tonight Going to confirm she's cloudy and amber all over then shut the lights off for 24hrs. Day 127: Lights out! In the dark til tomorrow. While I couldn't get any good shots, I would say bud to bud my trichomes are 80% cloudy, 10% glassy and 10% amber. There are a few trichomes I was able to focus on for a second that seemed reddish or purple: no idea what that means. My wife was able to sneak into the tent and get some Trichomes pictures. See the red & amber! Day 128, Pre-Harvest Sneak Peek & Pics: Wildly underestimated the amount of time this would take. We started at 3pm, and by 10pm we had only done about half the plant, maybe a little more. Granted we got up for small walks around the block every hour and stopped to make & eat dinner at some point, but I would say we did a solid 4-4.5 hours of trimming. We only clipped the arms of what we trimmed, so the rest is still in the dark tent. Hopefully we finish tonight! We weighed only the largest buds we've trimmed so far and it came out to 140grams wet. Day 130: Welp, didn't finish trimming til this morning. Worth it though! With some already drying for 2 days and some newer, the weight is likely hard to gauge at this point. Looks like the smalls are mostly dry already and weight in at 16gr, the slightly larger grade buds weighed in at 32gr, and the largest buds weighed in at 126gr now. We tried our hand at dry ice hash for all the trim (77gr wet) and got 2gr out of the 73 screen, and 10gr out of the 220 screen! Picture posted of product. well, she spent a week in the growing pot :) it seems the girl was not stressed :) hi, she looks healthy, a bit more leafy, but that's normal, after all, she came from the balcony :D every day I remove a few leaves, because there are a lot of them, she still has a week left and will be cut off: (I would like to give her a little more time, but I'm going on vacation and I don't have anyone to leave such work :) so I'd better cut it earlier :).

Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. When a species is ready to enter the vegetative phase and undergo its most drastic stretching period, metal halide lamps can be used to deter far too long stems. THE HEAT Heat is another essential element that can determine the stretch size of your plants during vegetation. Temperatures above 27 degrees push the stems to lengthen more and more and will propel the potential of sativas to push as high as possible. Heat lamps that are positioned too close to plants create an intolerable environment that will grow large, soft plants that will potentially wobble until they fall and lose flowers in its fall. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. Day 78 of flowering Stopped adding nutritions to the water after day 71. The plants started to get a bit shady after that, by shady I mean that they been hanging and slowly turning yellow, and getting some spots on the leaves. I almost had an heart attack when i saw that one plant had during 30ish hours turned brown and dried all out - See the pictures. I couldn't see any mold or any thing, so i chopped the top of the plant off. None of the others had anything like this.. The buds are getting so fat that the plants are starting to have a hard time holding the weight pf the buds. Im planing on harvesting during the next week.

Last couple of days before harvest. Plants were flushed last 2 weeks and showing a lot of yellowing, as planned. 48h of dark will be next thing to do now. Hulkberry looks like a sticky beast and orange sherbert smells and looks awesome too.

This weeks been hectic! Iv had a lot of training to do and a fair amount of defoliation - all only done until my plant had no feed left. Iv signed up to a couple of patreon accounts : ‘Willymyco’ and ‘DGC - dude grows podcast’s. Another great podcast. However, over the past week there’s been a heatwave and I accidentally pulled the red on/off plastic valve from the res for a second , it’s all good and just went on insulated wires…so I just mopped it up. I changed it to a mars hydro ts-1000w, and then the ts-600. Glad the dimmer works though or temps will be insane! I am still thinking of putting in the fc-e3000 but if I do that I’m going to have to take out the stoppers from the ends and hacksaw some off. It’s only cheap aluminium and then I’m going to think about removing one of the light strips if I can. Then I’ll just keep it low. It’s still weird working with a plant they suggested, un-topped— this is the first time i have done this in my life - I have literally always - HST’d, using the early veg stage and making used of the time for it to heal.
