Week 18 Middle August : weather is changing. Return of heat and humidity: 28 degrees, a little bit rain. A heat wave is coming but near the ocean the maximum will be around 32 degrees. It’s good to grow in greenhouse during this period : -ventilation control: I adapted the rythme: for now it’s around 18h/24h intermittently -pests and diseases control: insect’s traps natural and artificial, less heat -humidity control: no rain problem Daylight 14h: 7h/21h Flowering time 😁. Healthy plant, beautiful green color, just a few yellow leaves on the base. More watering: 1,5L every 60 hours Same cocktail: Calmag (0,5ml/L)+ FloraGro (2ml/L), FloraMicro (2ml/L), FloraBloom (1ml/L) + Root booster + Cannazym Feeding soil with guano bat (NPK 3/6/10) for a slow dispersion + dried horn and blood (NOK 13/0/0) for nitrogen add. Protecting plant: sprayed Neem Oil, added diatomaceous earth on soil. I will make a defoliation soon.

Einen wunderschönen guten Tag, liebe Grow-Community, und herzlich willkommen zur 14. Woche meines kleinen Outdoorprojekts! Diese letzte Woche ging es den Damen an den Kragen … Da die Kleinen in letzter Zeit doch ordentlich an Pflanzenmasse zugelegt hatten und das Wetter in Kombination mit zu dichtem Blattwerk ein erhöhtes Pilzrisiko birgt, habe ich mir die Schere geschnappt und die Pflänzchen ordentlich ausgedünnt. Ich bin hierbei relativ radikal vorgegangen (nach dem Prinzip „Viel hilft viel“). Das hat mehrere Gründe: Einerseits bin ich kein Fan von diesen ganzen Popcornnug-Geschichten (sowohl qualitativ als auch vom Trimaufwand her). Ich stelle die Qualität immer über die Quantität und so gewährleiste ich, dass die Haupttriebe die gesamte Energie erhalten und optimal performen können. Des Weiteren gewährte ich so eine deutlich bessere Luftzirkulation und vermeide ein unnötiges Überlappen der Blätter, welche wiederum Kondenswasser einfangen und somit ein optimales Klima für Pathogene bilden. Und last but not least darf ich ja eh nur meine 50 g/Person ernten.😇 Beim sogenannten „Lollipopping“ verwende ich eine frisch sterilisierte Schere, welche ich nach jeder Pflanze neu reinige, um eine mögliche Kreuzkontaminierung zu vermeiden. Vor diesem Eingriff habe ich den Pflanzen noch eine Stärkung verabreicht, um sie auf den kommenden abiotischen Stress (nicht durch Lebewesen erzeugter Stress) vorzubereiten. Hier kam wieder mein noch nicht so altbewährter Biostimulator ins Spiel. Dieses Mal allerdings in Kombination mit einem Komposttee. Dieser hat den Vorteil, dass er den Gasaustausch der Pflanze fördert (,,ein lebenswichtiger Prozess, bei dem Sauerstoff (O₂), Kohlenstoffdioxid (CO₂) und Wasserdampf mit der Umgebung ausgetauscht werden“), indem sich die Mikroorganismen um die Spaltöffnung (Stomata) ansiedeln und diese sich schneller öffnet und schließt. Wichtig ist hierbei noch zu erwähnen, dass sich die meisten Stomata auf der Blattunterseite befinden, diese also ebenfalls besprüht werden sollte. Und da wir Bakterien ausbringen, ist es von Bedeutung, mit großen Tropfen und wenig Druck zu arbeiten und die Pflanze möglichst nass zu machen. Jetzt hoffe ich nur noch, dass das Wetter wieder mitspielt und wir gesund und vital in die Blüte übergehen können. Und zum Schluss noch das altgewohnte Gequengel: Grow Diaries hat mir aus irgendwelchen Gründen meine Views gedrittelt (vielleicht wegen der Kritik im letzten Bericht)😁. The week starts Monday, Jan-13 in flowering stage. The plant is growing thick and fast, with very short node intervals creating a thick canopy. Carried out substantial defoliation of almost all the big fan leaves and a few little stems that were not likely to make it above the canopy. Avoided defoliating the major cola branches. This encourages the plant not to waste resources on a node which is only going to produce “popcorn” buds. The plants reacted well to the defoliation and were looking good by the end of the light cycle for the day. The net is completely full and this will be the last week of applying any LST as part of the ScrOG setup. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering almost 2.5L per day. Lowered the average RH in the space to 50%. ----prior 4 weeks updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-06 in flowering stage. The net is filling up nicely with the ScrOG process being enjoyable - just tucking branches nicely under squares once stretched enough. The Indica dominant strain is really shining with incredible dense growth and thick branches that don't bend as easily as it's Sativa neighbour. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-30 in vegetative stage - switching the light regime to flowering. Initiated flowering with an extended dark period prior to switching light regime - this practice is supposed to promote a faster initiation of flowering by the plant. Maintain lights off from Dec-31, 10:00 until Jan 1 - 18:45 allowing a 32hr darkness period prior to switching the light regime. Light regime is set for 12.5/11.5 on/off allowing me a better maintenance window for my living situation. Both plants are growing fast and strong, showing their genetic traits. Some shoots are going through the net already. Have started to tuck branches as they grow to fill up any gaps. Did minor defoliation on both plants near their stem base and centres. Some green algae on roots/coco medium on the surface of the pot. Have defoliated some more which hopefully helps with air circulation at the area. Will monitor over the week - may need to decrease watering frequency, although they seem to be keeping up drinking. Lowered the High Humidity setting of the extraction fan to 60% - which effectively keeps it running at least 75% of the time, and removed the humidifier. Will monitor and adjust as necessary lowering the setting to 50% in a few weeks whilst flowering. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-23 in vegetative stage. Installed the ScrOG net - Set at 20cm from the base of the plants, being 55cm from ground. The plant is showing great growth, lots of branching and new growth sprouts. A few branches are beginning to come through the net and almost all main branches are now tied down horizontally after the two recent toppings. Applied more LST and will wait for the branches to reach the net and start tucking. The AC Infinity fan is currently only running intermittently with its current settings. This seems to impact the utilisation and effectiveness of the carbon filter in use. The desired outcome is for the fan to be running for longer periods whilst in Auto config. Lowered the High Level Humidity from 70% to 60%, and more importantly, lowered the Max Speed from 4 to 2 with the intent that a lower fan speed will result in longer periods where the extraction fan is operated to remain below threshold targets for the grow space. Plant growth continues to be strong at the end of the week. Big fan leaves near the top are beginning to look a little serrated and dark, similar to the start of this grow. This may be due to the extra CalMag being added which was the issue at the start of the grow. Will keep monitoring and half the CalMag dosage on next feed. Importantly, I have learnt nutrient mixing of the CalMag should be done prior to the Canna Coco A & B. To date I have done the opposite which may explain my earlier issues. Fertigating daily at the start of the light cycle. One more week of vegetative growth before switching to flowering although I may need to switch earlier due to the vigorous growth and considering the stretch yet to come. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Passive intake of air is from a closed off section of the room where the central heating boiler sits - the intake is warm air (20 degC.) and fairly dry (40% RH) during the winter months. - Mars Hydro SP250 LED light - extraction fan - AC Infinity Cloudline T6 - ventilation fans - aquarium heater - small oil heater - small dehumidifier - 20L Airpots and 3.5L general pots for seedling stage - Canna Coco substrate and nutrients - pH and EC/TDS meters - Thermo/Hygro meter

All Plants are looking good, I placed a 2nd ventilator for better airflow in the whole tent.

The smell on this lady is absolutely insane. The only way I can describe it is a dank smelling cherry. Trimmed 2 ozs after drying got done and had the whole house smelling. Very impressed with the nose tone and taste of the Cherry Cola and its not even cured yet. Growing this plant has turned me on to the cherry terps and will continue to look for them.

The plant is stretching very fast. It's very healthy. Besides being the smallest plant in the grow, she is doing well.

Day 48. Very busy week for me, this weekend I'll make a plan and we will see were each girl is ... Till then only pure water all week. Girls are starting to pump up and maybe I'll have 2 ounces from half of the plants, that's a lot better than my first view after holidays was ... There is one problem too, as seen in photos, one Lemonade OG in stucked in veg mode, her sister is second biggest plant in all tent after FB Strawberry Pie. Hope she will catch up others soon .... Checkout my Instagram @smallbudz to see the Small budget grow setup for indoor use, low watt, low heat, low noise, step by step. 13/12/2019 - Change the light schedule to 12-12h after 8 weeks of no signs of flowering I think is a photo not and auto. 16/12/2019 - Fed her 1.5l of 6.5PH water with 0,5ml of each: Grow, Bloom and Max, and 1ml of each: Heaven, Alga-mic and Vera, noticed about 10% run off, I use about 1/3 of the nutrient dosage on the chart, to achieve about 200/300PPM (500 scale). 17/12/2019 - Did some defoliation on the lower branches mainly.

Moved to a bigger tent and added two additional plants so I could have everything in one spot. The plants in this diary are on the left side of the tent and along the back wall. The other plants are another GSC clone that is a little smaller, and a Wedding Cake from Seedking.com. they are being grown the same way as the others. I'm very impressed with how the GSC clones are flowering relative to the gorilla glue. They are just way more dense and bigger flowers. Fingers crossed the gorilla glue fills out.

Plain water as usual, did top some of them with bat guano only the ones I think need it the rest looks ok

WEEK 11 - (05/09/2021 - 05/15/2021) Week 3, Day 17 - FLOWER: 05/11/2021 Doing 2 gallons of water per 5 gallon pot this watering due to lack of runoff in weeks prior. I’m thinking I could be letting the pots dry out a little too long in between so the 1.5 gallons hasn’t been enough for each watering. When I stick my finger into the medium 2 or 3 days after watering it still seems like the soil has plenty of moisture so I wait another day or two. I know fabric pots are supposed to dry out usually in 2-3 days, but the soil still seems too moist, and I don’t want to overwater. It seems like ever since transplanting into 5 gallons and switching them to a 12/12 light cycle, watering got more complicated. Maybe I am overthinking the whole process. I just don’t want to risk ruining my crop, you know? Tap water: 223ppm, 8.6 pH, 70℉ (9 gallons total) + HydroGuard: 9ml/9 gallons + pH Down: 30ml/9 gallons Mixture: 267ppm, 6.0 pH, 70.4℉ ppm/ppm = runoff/soil JB#1 - 1330ppm/1063ppm, 6.3 pH AP#1 - 1310ppm/1043ppm, 6.3 pH AP#2 - 1160ppm/893ppm, 6.7 pH GC#1 - 1350ppm/1083ppm, 6.3 pH -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Week 3, Day 20 - FLOWER: 05/14/2021 Watered a day earlier than I usually do, with .5 gallons less water per plant. So each plant got a total of 1 gallon of water for their 5 gallon pots. This is really just to take the question out of the back of my mind: Am I letting the pots dry out too much going four days until the next watering? I will check on the plants shortly after they wake up tomorrow to observe their reaction to the watering. None of the plants produced really any runoff, which was boggling to me, because when I water there is usually anywhere between 10-20%, and that’s after watering on the fourth day. Needless to say, I was unable to take readings this time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Week 3, Day 21 - FLOWER: 05/15/2021 5:30 p.m. - Decided to check on the plants since I watered a day earlier (yesterday) than I have been since transplanting into the 5 gallon fabric pots. This was kind of an experiment to see how the plants would react to watering on the third day rather than the fourth, because I keep doubting myself. Anyway, when I checked in on the plants, a few leaves looked ever so slightly droopy. Not terrible. It appears that some of the leaves had begun to swell up a little as well. Not 100% sure if these are actually early signs of being overwatered this time, or if it’s something I have simply overlooked until now. Just to be sure, I’m going to water once more on the third day to see how the plants respond. The plants seem to be doing well this week. I've finally installed another ScroG net on the second level to help maintain the canopy. Since I cut the first layer of net the plants quickly started to get out of control and began to grow unevenly across the canopy. The trichomes are starting to appear on all of the plants, with the exception of the American Pie #1. This pheno is a little behind. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with how differently this plant was trained compared to her sisters (The manifold/mainline technique was applied). Possibly could have even defoliated her a little too heavy and she's taking a few extra days to bounce back. She's still producing early buds though, which is good. 👌 That just about wraps up this week. Things just keep getting more and more exciting with each journal entry. All the girls should have about 5-7 weeks left in flower before they are ripe for harvest. Hoping to have another tent and light setup by the end of flower so I can get some more seeds started.
