This is my first grow diary. I am doing things very different than most people.
I am growing using aquaponics. So in other words I use fish waste as my nutrients.
I have a grow bed instead of pots. I am growing 12 plants in my bed.
I am using an ebb and flow watering system.
My plants are 1 week into vegetation. They are looking wonderful
My fish are currently on a once a day feeding schedule.
This is the end of week 2. They have really grown in the past week. I have started some LST. They are coming along very nicely. I will begin a 2x daily feeding schedule for my fish.
Wow they are really going strong. They are getting really bushy. I am still doing LST and I am still feeding the fish twice a day. They are all developing multiple tops. I will begin some defoliation this week. I posted a video this time. that other plant in the video is a pineapple.
This is the end of week 4. So day 28 from planting. This has been a wonderful week. As you can see they are extremely bushy and happy. I do have 2 short ones. However My tallest one is now 22 inches, the shortest one is 11 inches, but on average they are about 18 inches.
I did some more LST and some defoliation this week. They have a minimum of 6 tops and some have 11 tops.
I am still on a twice a week feeding schedule and it will be like that until they begin to flower.
They are some really happy plants right now.
WOW. They are growing like WEEDS (yes pun intended)
Some began to flower on day 29. The rest began throughout the week.
I am now feeding the fish 3X per day.
We have to defoliate almost every day.
The pictures really do not do them justice.
All I can say is WOW just WOW,
One plant is hitting the light and I can't go any higher. It is 53 inches tall.
All but 1 is flowering really nicely. The 1 is taking its sweet time.
They seem very happy and healthy.
I have to defoliate every other day or so.
I just cant believe how big they are. I personally have never had an auto-flower get this big. The tallest one is 61 inches, Most are right around 55 inches and my shortest one is 36 inches.
There isn't much I can say about this week.
I am feeding my fish 3x per day still
Still defoliating as needed
They are happy and healthy and going strong
Everything is coming along quite nicely.
They have slowed down in growth now it is time to fill out.
Still feeding fish 3x daily.
They have developed a pretty strong smell
I have had some troubles this week. I have lost quite a few fish (not sure why) I am also showing signs of light burn/nutrient deficiency.
I had to put netting around the sides because they grew taller than they should have and started falling over from the weight.
The buds are filling out quite well, some of the hairs are starting to turn orange. It wont be long before harvest.
They are coming along quite nicely.
I had to buy more fish this week since so many have died. Still don't understand why. The water tests fine.
They didn't get any taller but the buds are filling out and becoming very dense.
The smell is very strong.
I think I still have a few more weeks until harvest.
It's almost harvest time.
They are so frosty. The trichomes are all cloudy/milky, just waiting for a little amber.
2 of them are a little slower than the others. They may take another week but all is well.
They are becoming really dense.
I cut the feedings down to 2X per day.
Well it has definitely been a learning experience. I couldn't get a wet weight because I didn't have enough space. Although I had an average dry yield of just over 3 OZ per plant, which isn't a bad yield, I am disappointed in my yield. This is only my 4th grow ever and only my second time growing in this grow bed. Both times I grew Blue Dream matic. My first grow, I had a few plants that had over 8 OZ per plant. But I didn't achieve the same results with this grow. The problem was because the Grow bed is now established and full of nutrients, the plants grew much larger this time around. However they were so bushy that I couldn't get in there to defoliate enough and I ended up with several very tiny buds that If I could have seen, I would have trimmed off. Therefor the light was blocked from getting down to the lower branches. I had one plant that became dwarfed and didn't produce much, then another plant that all but one branch died. This severely affected my yield.
On the plus side, now we know that we can only put 6 plants in one grow bed at a time. We are still learning more with every grow.
I will post another diary when I start a new grow. (wont be for a few months because I am moving)
