3rd week of flower , I’ve started the boost at 1.5ml per litre , both my lights are about 6-7” away from the tops of the plants and are not causing any issues . I’ve lowered my humidity to 45% in the day and about 55% at night , had to purchase a decent dehumidifier and put it outside the tent . Gave them there last lollipop and defoliation on end of week 3 .Will only take some fans leaves off when needed from now

Hey all welcome back to sort of week 12 or week 4 of flower! I have just got home and don’t no what to say...... gold leaf 1 has nanas that seam to have popped and could have wrecked the whole grow 😭 The girls are def hungry as you can see there is some yellowing of the leaves so they will be getting a good feed today and again in 3 days to keep them in the zone. They are stacking up and getting a little fatness to there buds. Frost levels are just starting to kick in and the tent is pungent!! Well the next few days will be spent watching for signs of any of the other plants turning male on us. Fair to say I’m a little gutted about now as I’m about to chop up a gold leaf that will produce over 4oz of dry buds fingers crossed this diary ain’t over

Trichomes are developing well, still mostly clear at the moment. The plant has finished stretching and is now focusing on bulking. I slightly increased her feed and hope she’ll put on more weight soon.

Instead, I wait for the plants to show true signs of bloom. It’s a small but significant distinction that keeps things accurate and aligned with the plants’ development. 🌱 Defoliation: Timing is Everything! Defoliation is a critical part of the flowering stage, and I typically wait until Day 21. However, this week, I tackled it earlier on Day 17 because: 1️⃣ The room was simply too full. 2️⃣ And most importantly—the Papaya Zoap had other plans! She’s a fighter—determined, defiant, and constantly reaching for the moon. Despite intense training like super cropping, she’s still pushing upward, nearly outpacing the LED lights. Challenges like this remind us of a simple truth: gardening mirrors life. It’s about resilience, adaptation, and unwavering determination. 💪 This week, I added a second SCROG layer. While this net will support the flowering colas, it’s also there to strategically manage the Papaya Zoap. Why? Because experience has taught me that if she grows out of the LED’s range, she won’t finish properly—and that could disrupt the balance for every other plant in the tent. It’s all about teamwork, even in the garden. 🌟 Defoliation was intense, removing nearly all the leaves with stems to clear space and boost airflow. The tent now looks dramatically different! This week I had quite a bit of color changes in the leaves of one of the phenos. I thought initially that it was a PH problem or something had gone wrong but I think it is just natural color changes. Might be a bit of rut on the leaves but they have not dried up and go crusty so it may be just the color. Lots of purple edging on the leaves. I start immediately apologizing for not respecting the week in updating the diary, but with work and looking after the plants I had no time. Now it is the end and I have collected everything. The experiments with ice water went really well and the pollen yield has increased again. The plant is spectacular and I am very proud of my work and what I have achieved. The buds are very compact and smell really exaggerated. This Cali I cleaned it all out of the excess leaves apart from the sugary little ones and left it in whole branches and hung it on a clothesline that I am leaving in a dark room with the values checked at least for the next week so that I can start a new cycle. But the smell is just too much!!!! Great FastBud and sure I'll be making more varieties soon. The monkey has now burrowed on my shoulder and the desire to try this delight is more and more.

Mandarin Squeeze smells amazing if you love oranges. The girls grew great. One took dominance as I expected in the grow. I hope it tastes as good as it smells. It would be my new favorite indica strain. I will be back with a smoke report in a few months. How is it growing, my fun(k) loving friends? ***INFO*** For more on my setup, why it was monster cropped, and how I made the canopy, see Germination page and subsequent weeks. They had 48 hrs of darkness, and the time has come to say goodbye to my friends. I thanked them again, spend some time with them, and under the sound of Amazonian shaman's harvest and healing songs (will post link), asked for their gifts, and apologized for taking their lives. I do this while in contact with the plants, touching, smelling them, observing every detail, no thoughts, just in the present moment. I feel emotional as I do this and remember how they were a companion, a source of distraction in a time of worry, sadness, and loss. How they already comforted me and kept me company in a time of painful insights about honesty, commitment, and staying true to myself. I thank them again for their wisdom and gifts, viva Santa Maria, viva Planta Maestra, may the mother of all beings give us healing and protection. And I proceed with the harvest as I visualize my intentions with every cut. Branch by bud laden branch is tenderly untangled from the scrog net, taken with a clean-cut and immediately hung upside down in the grow tent, which will now double as a curing and drying room. A couple more weeks and we will have the final cured and dried weight. More photos and movies will follow, this is where we are so far!! Big hug, lots of love and take care! ***UPDATE*** The final weigh-in is ready. I hadn't seen them in a week, because of my vacation. The humidifier I set up, had failed. So the grow had dried in 7 days, what I wanted to be 14 at least. Thankfully, its Sativa ancestry shines through, the smoke isn't harsh, the buds a sticky and smelly, no hay smell at all. We ended up at 246 grams, excluding a shitload of larf and popcorn bud, totaling at 310 grams all in, a first at a gram per watt for me, but for the Zambeza seed competition, I stated we would only weigh the quality bud. Overall I'm very happy!! Should I have to buy Gelato of this quality at the dispensary that I frequent, it would cost me at least € 15,-- per gram. 246 x 15 = 3690 euros. also, 49 car rides of 25 miles there and back, 250 euros in gas saved. Finallyin the first week of flowering! Branches are alternating which is a great sign. I feel like such an idiot, I tripped over the fans extension cord last night at lights out and the tower fan fell on D.D. #1 but the other two were untouched. I used vasoline to cover her wounds from infection. Hopefully it wasnt enough stress to turn her hermie!

This has by far been the most stressful part of the grow. as I'm trying to increase yield as much as possible, and in doing so f£&ked around and found out the hard way. She has gone into what I would say is severe shock this on the 31/1/25 will be the 3rd day of shock hopefully she can pull through and start growing again 🙏 🤞
