Grow Diaries Report: Flower Week 1 – Stretch Madness & Heavy Grooming 🌿🚀
Week 9 – Flower Week 1 Update
The flowering phase has officially kicked off, and wow, this plant is on a mission to touch the sky! The stretch this week has been intense, with the plant shooting up significantly. To manage her vigor and focus her energy on bud production, I’ve had to step in with defoliation and additional lollipopping.
This Week’s Highlights
Massive Stretch: The plant stretched dramatically this week, filling up the vertical space in the tent.
Defoliation: I removed a significant amount of fan leaves to improve light penetration to the lower branches.
Lollipopping Redux: Further cleaned up the lower parts of the plant, focusing her resources on the top colas.
What I Did
Lollipopping: Removed more of the lower branches and leaves that were unlikely to contribute to bud production.
Defoliation: Took off some large fan leaves to improve airflow and light exposure throughout the canopy.
Nutrients: Continued with the bloom feeding schedule, ensuring a balance of phosphorus and potassium for flower development.
Environment Management: Adjusted the light height to prevent light burn and tweaked the fan placement to improve airflow in the now more open canopy.
Observations
The plant’s stretch has been both impressive and challenging, but the defoliation and lollipopping seem to be working. The top canopy looks well-lit and primed for flower development. No signs of stress from the grooming, which is always a relief during such an aggressive stretch.
Challenges
The rapid vertical growth is pushing the limits of the grow tent. I’ll need to monitor her closely to prevent overcrowding or light burn.
Next Steps
Keep monitoring the stretch over the next week—potential supercropping if necessary to control height.
Fine-tune the nutrient schedule to ensure the plant has everything it needs as bud sites develop.
Maintain low humidity to reduce the risk of mold or mildew during early flowering.
Conclusion
The first week of flowering has been an explosive start! The stretch is real, but with proper management, she’s looking set to develop some fantastic buds in the weeks ahead. 🌟

Added a photo of the whole tent including both plants from both diaries, next diary will most likely be a 1 tent 1 plant.
Buds are swelling slightly and getting even harder, like golf balls.
Leafs are bleaching more, next week I'll do a complete refill of the tank and will be going a little easier on the KMPS because it adds to much K.
Had some trouble with a minor leak through the top of the tube because it was filled to the rim due to a lot of roots and really long netcups which block the tube, next tome netcups which are not as long and rather wider instead because the current ones are choking the stem which IMO is a good and bad thing, it stresses the plant so it produes more but also chokes it a little and the stem rips at the base but it heals.

08/29/24. Going into week 9 flower
Day 65 out of the stated 71
Supposed to be 6 days left, but I’m thinking probably 2 weeks more.
I’ll be checking trichs again today. Last I checked, a few milky.
Nothing to report really. Giving nothing but water from here and decreasing light intensity to about 55%
Will update if anything changes.

È venuto un bel casino, perché tra la prima e la seconda settimana di fioritura sono stato via 5 giorni, e al ritorno mi sono trovato 3 piante che avevano preso il sopravvento sulle altre e allora ho potuto solo piegare perché già non ci stavano più. Le piante hanno 25 giorni di vegetativa e 36 di fioritura

📋 This Truffle gas #1 is a really good strain. She put up with some abuse to keep her as low as possible and coped well with the conditions I managed to get.
After 2 weeks drying I put the buds into terplock bags, never used these bags before so I'm hoping everything works out.

June 7: Lemon Cream Kush is looking good a day or two after being topped.
June 9: going good. Video is a tip to moisten plant leaves a couple times a day when growing in dry air. It makes up for the low humidity.
June 10: wildfire smoke has reappeared but not as bad as 2023 (here at least (so far)). She is not stretching out like my other plants but still growing.
June 13: oops, i broke a main stem while trying to do LST. Patched with floral tape. it didnt fully break so the tape might work.

Just changed waters and plucked some fan leaves.🌊✂️
After plucking the leaves of these girls my hands have an odor of the most lemony citrus scent that I have smelled in strains before. 👃
These mostly sativa hybrids are looking happy and healthy & I can not wait to see the results.😊

Hermosa y sutil. Tiene un ligero olor a fruta en las hojas. He visto alguno que otro pulgón verde, no prosperan luego del baño semanal. Ya me muero de ganas de cortar unos clones y hacerle LST.

—SETUP—

—BRIEF—
Hi there, I have tried already done this genetic outdoors, in poor lighting and a general purpose nute from Neudorff, yielded 25g dry, in 3gallon pots same medium.
So this is a good experiment, lets see indoors how she will compare.
—GERMINATION—
My germination process always start by scarifying the seeds, i created a little tool for that. I just a little container with sandpaper walls. Shake gently for about 60 secs+, this allows for the water to penetrate better in the seed shell, once you soak. Then i soak overnight from 12 to 20 hours max.
From there i either plant straight or use the paper towel method to see the tap root before. If you are a bit on the impatient side seen the tap root is advisable so you see some movement before planting. Lol!

Chose this strain because is basic and I have to travel for a month soon, and someone else is going to take care for this time. :)
Most of our autoflowering feminized strains are easy to grow. This one, however, is so easy to grow that we had to call it Easy Bud. Easy Bud is very similar to the autoflowering strain White Dwarf.

My mood said to me to plant straight, so scarify > soak 18 hours +- > plant straight.
Seedlings look a bit odd, this one with a purple center, let's give her some days in and see what happens next.

This week I topped 6 plants, pinched 9, & left 5 alone. I still know some will be male so I'm looking closely every day to see the 1st signs.
I moved the 12-14 inch plants away from. The middle light and I noticed 1 of the 14 inch plants has started to root through the fabric 2 gallon.

Tricombes mainly milky, some half milky, no amber yet. Pistils are starting to turn orange, white is still the prominent pistil colour at the moment. Couple of leaves are starting to yellow but all up, apart from a slight nute burn the girls are doing nicely. Smells like blueberries, rosemary and chives.. thank Christ for the carbon filter!

Week went again very uneventful. The plant does what she is supposed to be doing (gaining weight) :). Still lots of new pistils appearing overnight, I am checking the Trichomes daily, however, everything remains milky, with only very little % of amber trichomes. Once amber colours start increasing I will start flushing.

Day 63: This should be the last week in veg. It might be a partial week...I'll make the call in a few days. I'm excited to see these babes flower!!!
Day 64: Last night I saw what appeared to be signs of overwatering, so I turned off the humidifier and the temp increased immediately and today, they look just fine. I also raised the 150W LED on that side of the tent just a bit to reduce the intensity. This will be the last week for veg. I flipped the other tent, but these babes need just a little longer before flipping.
Day 65: They looked pretty thirsty today, so I fed 1 gal of late veg nutes per plant. The soil was very dry according to my meter, so if I overwatered last time, they had plenty of dryness today.
Day 67: I came home to near wilting plants! It had been 52 hours since last feeding and I've never seen them this thirsty during this grow. I watered 1 gal/plant again and GZ is showing the same signs of over watering again. The leaf color is fine with zero nutrient issues, so I suspect there may be a root problem. I don't know what else it could be? The photos are about 4 hours after watering.
Day 68: The moisture meter showed bone dry again, so I watered a half gallon of water/cal-mag. I also decided to turn off the extra 150W LED sitting above her and just let the main LED do the work for now.
Day 69: She was dry again today, so I watered a half gallon of late veg nutes and she's appearing to be recovering just fine. I think the heat in the tent might have been causing some issues as well, so good thing I turned off that extra light for now.
Day 70: Last day of VEG!!!

Hello to all growers.
This week has been quiet, my leaves are turning a bit yellow, but hopefully some food will fix that.
Otherwise, I am very satisfied, the volume of the drumsticks has increased by 100 percent. I assume from the trichomes that another two weeks, maybe a little longer.
