Starting week 4 off with a few updates: We lost two soldiers today, 11/25/23, and pulled both of the struggling watermelons from the herd. Lowered the lights a bit as I felt they were a bit too high and to prepare for the real vegetative phase coming this week. DIY C02 bottles bubbling away nicely. Transplanted the remaining girls to their final home (5 gallon fabric pots) on 11/26/23. Used Photone app to dial in to proper PPFD at 350 as I was a bit high. Nearing end of week 4, I’m really starting to see rapid growth. Since I’m going with a SOG for this grow, I won’t be doing any topping but I will be doing some LST to start week 5 with 90 degree LST clips. (I’m calling it the 5x5 LST; 5 weeks at the 5th node pair) 😆

G 13 is starting to look better now after the neem oil treatments. She is under the Medic Grow mini sun-2. Growing in Athena nutrition. So hopefully she takes off and does really well. Growing this strain was straightforward, demonstrating high resistance to mold. Despite its modest yield, the plant exuded a strong aroma of pineapple and strawberry. The smoke was notably smooth, emitting sour floral notes, though not exceptionally potent. Overall, it proved to be a stable and enjoyable cultivar.

Week 5 flower : upped the a&b to 2.5ml litre and steered the pk at 1.2ml per litre Blue cheese : they have completely outgrown the sunset sherbet . I’ve raised the light as the buds at the back of the tent were literally 1” away it didn’t do much harm although the leaves on them buds started to curl a little so I thought best to raise it now before it causes any stress . I’m still watering everyday to run off . I removed a few fan leaves but I am considering doing a bigger defoliation in a few days as the fan leaves have taken over . They are really starting to smell very sweet and filling out .I was worried about these seeds as I have grown Buddha blue cheese about 10 years ago and now they have changed the name to blueberry cheese and I was told they will be different from 10 years ago . So far I don’t think so as they look the same and smell the same at this point I can’t see any difference which I’m happy about as I haven’t had any good blue cheese for many many years .although they smell the filter is definitely controlling the smell outside the tent . Sunset sherbet : although it hasn’t grow very big it’s very frosty and starting to smell . I will carry on the pk for another 3-7 days and will start the flush about 6 1/2 weeks in for 2 weeks with plain water I will also defoliate about in a few days

FD36 - True to form I completely forgot to take any pics before the lights were out. The third week in a row. I'm detecting a pattern... lol FD37 - Pics! FD38 - Today, I was proactive in trying to prevent botrytis (budrot) since I have had problems in the past when temperatures and humidity get too high in late flower. I started with defoliating hard by removing fan leaves. That should lower the humidity in the tent as there are fewer leaves to transpire moisture, and also increase the airflow around the buds. Finally, I put my small humidifier in the tent to further lower the humidity. FD41 - The anti-humidity measures are working. The tent went from an average RH in the high 60s to the high 40s. (The average RH in the last 24 hours was 48.9%.) I'm happy with that, which should be enough to avoid budrot. Better safe than sorry, so I did additional LST to open up the plants and thus increase the airflow around the buds. It's also helpful to increase light penetration, so win-win. FD42 - We're at the end of the sixth week of flower, and things are chugging along in the tent. The buds are slowly fattening up, but it will take some time before they are done. There isn't much to do in the tent this late in flower besides watering. Today, each girl got 2.5-liters of water @ pH 6.5.

D61 - The beginning of the fifth week of flower. Most trichomes are cloudy, but there are still some clear, and I'm seeing a few amber. I guess it will take another week, maybe two, until she is done. D66 - Seeing less clear trichomes. She should be ready to harvest within the next week, I think. D67 - The end of another week, and we're getting close to chop day.

Same as the previous week, temps and humidity are way better, getting closer to the end of winter, its Spring Day tomorrow. This will be the last week of using Rippen. next week will be the final week before harvest. The Flower Smells comes and goes as the fans stop and start...

No nutrition for this week as i will harvest them at the end of week 8 of flowers as i am seeing 5% ember on Girl Scout Cookies and 30 or 40% on Green Gelato..

Flowering out pretty strong now! Not much to report other than that they are all firing pistils off and a little bit of color coming through. Probably won’t yield anything crazy, but they are looking pretty healthy at least!

Half of the first harvest done still have k lots to learn but off to a good start still got the Green Poison Auto goin

Growth is just going amazing. Both phenos are doing just astounding. I'm overall delighted with these genetics. Days 35-37 Growth is going amazing as you can see. When preflower stops. I'll move it under a 300w light from mars-hydro. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks. I have moved over to giving bloom now. She is showing light mag issue so I added Xpert Nutrients Calmag and have been feeding the 20L pot without it fully drying up. I love soil growing. Day 38-39 She's pushing on at an alarming rate. I did not plan for it to be these big. They're going to get 50-100% bigger. So, it's not necessarily their size now. But in 3 weeks. I need to start using IR in my flower tent to push my fems into high gear. Adding 2hrs of extra light should easily cut days to a week depending where they are. Got to also becareful as if I add IR to anything in preflower it'll stretch like crazy. So, im at least 5 days or so before my flower tent will have no preflowering plants just all girls into heavy flower. This plant will STAY away from any IR 730nm for at least another 2-3 weeks. So, she'll do all her preflower under the p1000, which will be an issue in itself. Day 40-42 Took her down to separate her as they're far to close, to big and too many shoots not to do anything will only set the mid-lower parts back weeks during the flower process. I did do some very very light lollipopping at the very ends. The shoots were the smallest. And removed their fans obviously. That's the only defol I've done more or less over this ENTIRE grow. Which is very rare for me not to remove some leaves. With autos, you really shouldn't. Some can take it & still do well. But left alone. And good lighting/airflow throughout the plants. Has really made a huge difference. I separated them as best I could with as minimal stress as possible. It'll take a few hours to look all pretty again when she settles. She'll look really good. No HST/Defols done in any major way. Left it all. And just let them do their thing. Working with it, the smell is LOVELY like a black berry smell. Is absolutely lovely scent she's giving off. But, she is a good candidate for stealth growing. Only when she's worked on does she pong. And you have to be close to smell it. Day 42 and she's doing AMAZING. Really happy to see both phenos looking beautiful & separated really well. Hoping she'll push through pre flower in the next 10-12 days. Week 6 Summary: First off, Happy New Year! May the new year filled with peace, love, joy and dank buds! 😄😉 Day 36-39: Despite my heavy defoliation they seem to bounce back quite quickly every time, but this is my first grow so I could be completely wrong and slowly murdering my plants... 😅 WC1 starting to frost up, the two double buds are starting to split themselves up while stretching: WIN! WC2 and WC3 really starting to show their size compared to just a week or 2 ago, really spread out now, and starting to stretch. Day 40-42: WC2 and WC3 really stretching now. WC2 almost catching up to WC1's height, and has probably spread out the most out of all plants when you compare it to a few weeks ago. Maybe defoliating is a good thing for Autos after all? I'm stoked about these. Although WC2 and WC3 are a few days behind of frost production it's definately starting to show itself by the end of week 6. Stoked for these!! These are stinking aswell, but for now the 4AM in the tent is sweetening it up! On to week7!!!

The lighting intensity is at 833 PPFD, and the solution in the reservoir is fine-tuned to a pH of 6.22, EC of 475, with a temp of 21.8°C. Let’s talk pH in the reservoir: it’s a dynamic process, and I’m constantly adjusting it to keep everything at the right level. The pH tends to rise throughout the week, and each day, I work it back down, fine-tuning it to keep those plants happy and balanced. Managing pH is truly a hands-on job, and it’s worth every moment. I love staying on top of it for optimal nutrient uptake—it’s all about consistent effort and keeping that perfect range dialed in. Leaf Maintenance & Selective Defoliation These leaves are HUGE and gorgeous, creating a lush canopy that’s nearly too perfect! I’ve been taking a few leaves here and there, focusing on leaves that may be blocking light from reaching lower parts of the plant. Selective defoliation at this stage is key because it opens up airflow and allows light to penetrate deep, boosting energy distribution across the whole plant. Big, healthy leaves mean we’re getting excellent photosynthesis, but a gentle, strategic defoliation can guide that energy toward those developing buds.
