Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Day 31 of flower Basically the girls are on autopilot, with the autopots and Gaia green there really isn't much to do, both methods are super user friendly and the basic needs that need to be meet are just ph water in the reservoir every couple days and then watch them stack buds on top of buds...Occasionally I move a branch over to another square in the net to make room but Basically after the last top feeding it's just watch and weight, pun intended....

Got a little yellow on one of the cookies 🤦‍♂️🏻 i think i stopped feeding N a bit to early this round. Next feed i'm gonna give her a shot of Canna mono Nitrogen to perk her up. The rest of the lady's are in good shape and stacking nicely 👌 Rock on Growmies 💚

Week 11 She fattened up in bud size and smell this week. Also a lot of leaves began to grow bigger so they catch a lot of sun. I kinda leave the plant alone for now, just maybe a bit of correcting LST and moving away fan leaves that are on top of buds (not cutting away). She is really a fat one and didn't expect her to do so great after topping her and LST-ing her to the maximum. She even broke a big side branche, but I managed to hold it together to the main cola with some small wire. The wound healed carefully and buds are doing just fine. Smell is getting really pungent with that classic sour smell that does me think of a critical kush. The smaller one is also beginning to smell really pungent, but it's not the same type of smell as the topped one. She smells more smoothly and fruity. They both are going into week 12, but I think harvest will be in week 13 or maybe even 14.

Man oh man,without noticing I just found a new favorite strain man.Love the strong fruity and floral aroma coming from these flowers I can't wait to grow her Photoperiod version,it's been a pleasure to grow her,unfortunately I lost her four sisters,I would love to get a lot of full jars of this amazing haze 👃🔝🔝💚

Yooo gang updateee!!! Soo bad news first, the small tent with the godfather og mother had sadly passed away and expired, simple put she got way to close to the light AND turns out the air discs I was using were completely swalloed and wrapped up by the roots, so that mega blows. NOW the good news, I actually have a couple new plants in the large tent with the clones, a GDP that's about 4 weeks in on veg, and a NYC Sour Diesel which is about 2 weeks out from seed, will keep updating on what I do with those, other then that the clones from the godfather og are doing really really well will keep updating as the days and weeks go on thanks for stopping by gang!!!!

July 6: looking good stating week 11. Nice response to the last round of topping to form a 16 cola manifold. After a couple more days of growth I’ll do another scrog layer to open it up further to the sun. So far so good. 👍 July 7: added scrog net. This is tied to half filled water bottles that can move if the plant catches some wind. Main reason at this growth stage is to help expose the growth tips and to hold down the fan leaves. Basically, I’m doing this instead of tomato cages because cannabis plants are tough and a net is better than a metal cage. July 8: hot 33 C today. Extra water, misting during peak sun, and some seaweed extract in the water. Continuing to mist regularly to make up for low humidity. Plant looks nice and green and vigorous. Growing at more than an inch per day now. July 9; hot again. Misting every few hours and foliar of seaweed extract and potassium silicate to help beat the heat. July 10: hot but this should be the peak day. Re-scrogged using a loose scrog layer. The overnight low here was almost 20 C which is super warm. Started another (third) lazy compost tea. Ingredients in a 5 gallon pail are 4 gallons (16 L) of water, compost, shredded coco coir fibre so bacteria have physical media to grow on, 1 tbsp of seaweed extract and humic acid blend, and 0.8 mL/L of Monster Maxx. About 1.5 tbsp of blackstrap molasses. No pH adjustment yet, and will let stand until end of day to allow some bacterial growth. July 12: made it through the heat wave and she looks great this morning.
