hey all, let's do an experiment with budswelling and without ! i know it will not be exact science but i will give some insight if it works or not. i have got 2 C.banana and 2Royal Gorilla on 1 plant of each sort i have done my budswelling so we can compare both strains and the effect at the end of harvest to see if it makes a difference or not. in my believe it makes a difference but i can not prove it maybe this will give an idea if it makes a difference or not. also i have put an video on how i do the budswelling with scissors or with fingers. i prefer to do it with fingers it's a lot quicker then with scissors. You need to do this on al the buds not only on top. Some say you need to do this every week but i only do it after 3or 4 weeks into flowering.

1/17 - Entered Week 3 Today, Everything is going good so far. Just have been watering with fish tank water only. I have been adjusting plant ties so the light penetrates lower branches, in hopes of more tops. I have also been leaf tucking and adjusting lower branches over bigger leaves. #1 is growing at a pretty fast pace, faster then others, and is showing signs of multiple branches coming to top, #2 is doing good, I have been trying to get more light to lower branches, hopefully in the next few days will see progress, but overall it is growing at a good rate. #3 is doing alright, its growing at an okay pace, I started LST on it yesterday and have noticed branches emerging. #4 is still quite small, but growing at an alright rate, when it's a little taller will attempt LST. Overall, everything is going great! 1/18 - Yesterday I discovered white specks on leaves, did some research, one thing I found that could've been issue was my humidifier running tap water, I immediately cleaned out humidifier and filled with distilled water. After doing that did further inspection I saw a gnat in soil, only seen one so I killed him, turned off lights and fans, sprayed neem oil spray on soil and over plants very lightly, turned on fans , let dry for about 15mins and turned light back on. I did some research on neem oil and what I understood is that it's okay to use in veg but not quite flowering. Hoping this will be the last time using it, going to get sticky traps for future. Going to keep an eye on white specs and make sure they don't get worse, some wiped off but others didn't. #1 is starting to show pistil hairs. Everything still the same, added a very small amount of calmag to fish tank water in jug. 1/19 - Not to much to update , just have been filling humidifier, and watering. Tent is staying 80 degrees and 70% humidity VPD around .9-1. The white specks on leaves aren't going anywhere, but I don't notice any additional specks. 1/20 - Mid-day - Last night around midnight I started LST with #4, her lower branches looked like they had some growth so hopefully we get some good results with it. I've been adjusting canopy, bringing branches to open spots. Watered full pot today with just fish tank water, pot was a bit dry. Ordered Branch benders and Trellis net last night hopefully it comes just in time. 1/21 - Received Trellis net today, Going to attempt SCROG, This will be my first time attempting will see what the results will be and if it's helpful, If you have any tips or suggestions let me know. I put around 4inches above canopy's, so hopefully in a few days will get to toggle with branches. Tomorrow, I have adjustable, and 90 degree branch benders coming in, will be testing those out also. Everything is going smoothly so far. Even though they are on the cheaper end, they still seem to get the job done. Plants haven't met Trellis net yet, but hopefully in a few days #1 will start getting ready to train on SCROG. I'm very excited for week 4 and really can't wait for what it's going to bring. Also, while writing this, I did have some sad news, While attempting to LST a smaller branch, I accidently got to rough, and it broke off, my first lesson. Since then, I've been being a lot more careful with these girls knowing they are about to enter flower. Finally we are done, I spent one 10 months on Durban Poison, this is my best sativa strain and im absolutely in love. So next report will be with some Clones of Durban Poison.

This week has been such a gift! I have learned so much about proper care for a plant I had no idea how little I knew sitting down and observing these majestic trees produce such a potent flower has really humbled me. Premium cultivars strain has shown resilient and self sustaining easy to grow traits that it is hard to mess up. (Which I’ve done a few times lol) Notice the trichomes (I put the zoom lens on and got up in there so they could be better seen the bud itself is slathered in them ! This is going to be an amazing smoke! Also looking at the structure of the bud it’s self it has volume very full bodied bracts with pistils throughout It’s just an all-around beautiful thing to observe

Easy to grow— smells like citrus gas. Really enjoy this smoke and the plant.

I had to get a bigger tent as these girls were pushing themselves out of my other tent. I also added another COB to the tent at the same time. The plants are doing well and are liking their new home it seems. I need to defoliate the biggest one though, too many leaves covering bud sites. Might do that after work tonight as well as water. Rapid Stretch (Hormonal Shift) • Plants are responding to increased flowering hormones (gibberellins and auxins) • Internode spacing is increasing rapidly on the larger phenos • Energy is being redirected toward vertical growth while flower sites are forming This explains why the two larger plants are stretching “harder” than expected, despite indica genetics. 2. Root Demand & Water Uptake Increase • Daily feeding to runoff is necessary because: • Root mass has expanded significantly • Transpiration rates are high due to stretch • Coco dries faster under increased metabolic load The initial underwatering sign on one larger plant (2/18) aligns perfectly with this surge in demand. 3. Nutrient Uptake Shift • Nitrogen demand is still present (for stretch), but tapering • Phosphorus and potassium uptake are ramping up • Enzyme activity and carbohydrate metabolism are increasing rapidly Your slight drop from ~1100 ppm to ~1000 ppm combined with consistent runoff resets kept the root zone perfectly balanced during this sensitive transition. 4. We’re getting closer, they’ve upped their water intake this week, so I’m thinking we’re on pretty much the last push now! Absolutely stinks of pineapples in there, with a gassy undertone. I’m excited to see how these finish up!! Hopefully not too much longer now.

Day 35 is here and we are at the start of week 5 and as you can see this girl is in flower! She is crowning nicely and look super healthy.. Weird germination process: among the whole tent I had few duds so I had to replace and select. I noticed from the start that the seed didn't germinate correctly having kept the membrane closed tight on top, inclusive of seed shell. I manually removed the redundant seed shell and membrane myself. Germinated using the wet towel method, then planted with michoryzae powder as added boost. A couple of days later I have noticed that the top wilted while suffocated in the shell, however it is already sprouting a perfect "Y" " self-topped" shape to die for. I wasn't planning to train any of the plants in this grow but I will do it with this MOBY DICK: this strain is a high yielding sativa that has historically given me a consistent large harvest each time. It can bush out very quickly and I would have to allocate half a tent just for her.

After trimming everything under the net she has focused on sprouting more upwards towards the light, stems are nice and thick and budsites are nice and even so will grow evenly when budding!

Strain was a great producer. shake: 41.5grams 77.5grams 2.0 grams Total= 121grams FLower: 116.6 112 60.1 57.3 63.7 44 26.1 Total: 479.9grams TOTAL Trim and Flower = 121 + 479.8 = 600.8grams = 21.25oz

Man p4 is coming on strong after knocking of the longstanding p1 Queen of the crop. Crazy, I thought plant 3 was goin to be lucky to survive and she kicks booty! Another video up there 12 days in December cuts off about an hour ago. I have to say this week went pretty uneventful other than getting everything potted into their final 3ga pots. I'm trying to get the plants up to around 12" before flipping but getting anxious about it. If plant 3 wasn't so dang little I'd probably had flipped the ladies already... But they're still a bit short. I'm finding overcoming impatience is the biggest lesson I'm learning.
