Flowering progresses and buds site are expanding. Did minor defoliation to allow more airflow through the middle of plants and allow light to penetrate all the buds. Slow and steady week

Hello everyone and thanks for checking out my grow! This week has been another great week with good growth. I did quite a bit of defoliation this week to uncover some of the sites that had been blocked from getting light. They have handled it really well and bouncing back in now time! My back left plant is starting to show some really pretty buds, I need to get get my camera figured out and get some better pictures because I feel sometimes my phone just does not do them justice. I can tell a big difference from my first grow and this grow at this point, just the difference in the buds and how I have trained and defoliated has been much better for sure. I know I still have a lot of experience to gain, but I really enjoy learning and thriving to produce the highest quality cannabis I am capable of. I learn a lot from a lot of you guys so thank you all for being awesome. I have still been keeping my EC relatively low, slowly increasing each week and also altering topping the res with mixed nutrients or RO water plus calmag. It seems to be working pretty well. My PH stays pretty stable although I did have to make one adjustment last week where it rose on me a little more than normal, but we have been staying in that 5.9-6.1 range else wise. My EC is also stable this week right around 1.0, will be going to around 1.1 Friday when I change my water and nutrients. Humidity has been staying pretty constant around 55, there was a few times it got up to low 60s because I fell asleep and didn't empty my dehumidifier in lung room, but was only a couple hours here and there so no biggie, no signs of any issues. They are really starting to pack on the trichomes as well though and when I first open the tents when the lights come on I am hit with a wonderfully sweet pungent smell! I am super excited to continue to watch these girls finish! Just going to keep sticking to the plan and monitoring these girls! See you guys in a week. She is growing strong and healthy... but I am fighting with a fungus on her leaves...

So this is my first diary here and I'm going to start from week 11 so there's should only be another week or two left. My next one I'll do properly from the start. Also this feeding schedule was the last ammendment I did but was in week 10 and not this week. As I only started on week 11 I thought I'd just add it to show what I've given her. This is just 1 Northern Lights Autoflower from Royal Queen Seeds. I've topped her twice and done some LST and lollipopped just as she was going into flower..which was around week 5. I use 100% organic top soil amendments from Living Soils every 2 weeks. I water about 2 days after the top soil goes completely dry only in the mornings. And she's on a 20/4 light cycle. I vegged her in a standard plastic pot then transplanted at the end of week 5 into a 10l pot with the coco loaded with all of the above (minus the guano which I added at the start of week 3 of flower) with the aim of her hitting those amendments at the right time..so I wouldn't have to amend again for another 2 weeks which seemed to work out. I tested the run off shortly after the first feeding for flowering and it was really high - 3000ppm - alongside the pH which which was really low - 4.89 (as expected as its runoff) however I had oyster shell in that first feeding which should help raise the pH and my local tap water is hard so there's extra Calcium and a bit of Megnesium in there too. I also added a couple of drops of biobizz ph+ to the water. And with the mycorrhizae..which should kick in and colonise the root system in about 3 to 4 weeks..should create a mycillium network to help this living soil regulate everything!! Which it did as I tested the runoff again everytime I fed (every 2 to 3 days) and it slowly went down ending up at 1000ppm and a pH of 5.9 which was spot on. I also had a massive scare as I found small white bugs in the medium when I disturbed the top soil. Thinking they were spider mites thankfully they were Symphalans which after researching eats seedling roots or decaying organic matter..so they're essentially cleaning the medium..and they stay under the soil away from the light. She is pretty small and compact. I'm testing autoflowers as I've never tried them before. I'm slightly annoyed as I knocked my dimmer down to 60% without realising..so out it back to 100% and as a result I'm guessing she may have been stunted along with topping her twice or maybe it's just the strain. But I have seen other a lot bigger. But she is looking really healthy and has done from the start. The colour you see has been there from the start and she hasn't had any deficiencies. Tricones are coming along nicely and some of the sugar leaves look like they're starting to deplete in nutritients as they're going slightly yellow on the edges so not long. I'm guessing 2 more weeks from today but I wouldn't be surprised if she hits 13 weeks which is what I'm hoping for as her last feed was last week which would give her an extra week to 'flush'. Also the Bat Boost from Guanokalong has an NPK ratio of 0-10-0 and not 0-0-2 like it states. Day 40: They got recoverd from overwatering. Leafs got darker because I gave them more nutrients, but gained early signs of slightly overfeeding ( Burnt tips on leafs). I had to boost them to fix it because there isn't much time with autoflowers. Now i only have to adjust my nutrient feeding with just 10 to 15% and its all good. They did stretch again, some growers love it but i think it is ugly and you will gain weak stems. Also the fans will not reach the plants properly, which is not good. This time it is my fault, i didnt want to let my friend take care of them while i was busy. What happend is that i could had raise my lamps again. When your lamps are to close to the plants( its not a big deal with LED but it is with HPS) your plants will get alot of heat and they will stretch. So the secret of smaller plants is to keep your lamps high, but not to high otherwise they don't grow proper. But never do this alot when they are in late flowering, because your buds will foxtail, unless you love to have foxtailed buds. I have to do something about the heat soon, because i want my buds compact and not fluffy. This will happen due lots of heat. Also due alot of stretching and other problems, I gained a messy cantopy resulting in many problems. For noobies the room looks awesome but pro's will see that because of this, the stems and branches are weak and everything beneeth it has no use anymore because it gets no light. The spaces between internodes are to far away, so there will not be huge buds. I also have to start give them cal/mag, i saw first stages of deficiency. Not a problem when you are early with spotting it. I didn't forsee that i had to work like 60hours a week suddenly while having autoflowers on cocos in 3 liter pots and you only can water them once per 2 days and can take care of them once per 3-4 days. That is not really ideal 😅 Positive thing is that the buds are starting to develope 😍 Thats all for now Day 42: I have been defoliating alot to get the air between the plants. There are still some leafs and branches i want to get rid off, but i don't want them to stress out to much. Also i have killed of 23 smaller plants to make more space for the others. This is always painfull but stupid if you don't do this. If the plants didn't stretch that far due heat and low placed lights, this would not have been the case. I would still have alot of small nice plants. See you guys next week!

I made these seeds myself, letting the Male pollinating the Female in the same tent. I dropped pollen with a paintbrush on 2 different occasions, then shook the male over the female a couple times as well. Harvested most the seeds after the female plant died of thirst, around Bloom Day 65-67, but some earlier around Bloom day 53-55. These seeds were soaked then direct sowed. Originally using 6 seeds but settled on 10. Success germination rate of 100%. Bred by Dark Horse Genetics, purchased Chem Berry D from Parkland Flowers then reproduction by moi. Who knows where this project will go. I collected a whole bunch of seeds, they seem to be very healthy.

To protect the rest of the tent, I made the call to remove her today. Just tucking away 🤣🤣🤣 Last weeks feeding was slightly too high for transition. I am realizing that the amount of fulvic/humid acid reduces the need for full strength ratios. This week we are going to feed 800 again, as the need for ppm’s has increased, but I am going to stay under 850 unless I see deficiency in leaves. The photosynthesis plus has been added to the mix. I know, I have recharge. However, there are certain strains in PP that recharge does not have. Specifically there is a strain for absorbing more from the lights. I have some purple stems from the light being a little to intense. We will be adding a little more cal-mag to the next feeding also. Looks like feeding will take place Tuesday/Wednesday this week. All plants are female and no Herms present for the party 😂😂 10-25 did a pre-feed of cal-mag, 8 oz. Later this evening I will do the main feeding 3 cups. The ratios are still 8-8-8 at 800 ppm’s. The extra ppm’s come in the form of extra cal-mag. Did some tucking as I am in stretch phase. So I work with a grower who is 76 years old. He has some old school techniques that make sense. He pre-waters his containers with 25% water. The remainder 75% is either nutrients OR additives that need to be added to the water. I took it a step further. I added cal-mag to the pre-water stage. Then I fed the nutrients second stage. Cal-mag is the “carrier” for nutrients throughout the plant. “Adding the nutrients after, makes it easy for the nutrients to fully saturate the soil and reach all the roots. This also prevents salt build up.” Ron’s Words. I will say my containers held double the amount of water using his method. 10-28 added some reflective material around the sides. My Growmie at RedmanFarms suggested I add it to the room. I am inside of an open air room for flowering cycle. Today was watering day. First watering was a light dose of cal/mag. Second watering was kelp, seaweed, photosynthesis plus, monk beans SST, fulvic/humic acid. One of the plants ( top left) seems to have a sulpher/magnesium deficiency ( it’s also the one with the soil I don’t like). I made some Iron/Tone tea by Espoma at 200 ppm’s and did a foliar feed. So far I see some progress on purple recessing and the growth has started to match the other 4. I have 1 more week of tucking to do and then I do a HEAVY defoliation on day 21. After than I won’t touch the plants other than feedings and water.

Didn’t record footage of veg stage but it was in veg for just over 7 weeks and flowered at just spot on 8 weeks . Nice tight buds. Heavy stone but won’t make you too lazy to get about your day like a cheese almost

Week 7+8 for Thelma and Louise and both gals are looking great! As I mentioned before I'm going to let these ladies go until the fade is nice and the trichs are at least 30% amber and I hope that results in FATTY colas! I cut out the silica since they are flowering nicely now. These girls have the most rock-hard stems I've come across so far, feels like bamboo and a karate kick wouldn't do shit to it LOL!
