Plants that are too far from an adequate light source will respond by accelerating stem growth in order to get closer to the lamp themselves. Especially when there are many other plants. A lack of lighting can easily cause overcrowding in a growing chamber, reducing the steady progression of your crop and the distance ratio between your bulbs and your plants. To address this problem, be sure to provide enough light to your plants to prevent stem growth. At the same time, you should not position your lights too close to your plants either since this would also result in an over-stretching of the stems and in some cases, the loss of your crop. In addition to the distance between the light source and the plant, the type of light you will use also affects the size of the stretching of your crop. The orange and red lights encourage stretching and result in thinner, larger stems. And conversely, blue light stimulates a growth of thicker stems and a smaller size. OTHER CAUSES OF STRETCHING There are multiple variables that can lead to the stretching of plants beyond what could normally be expected of the plant. Environmental stressors resulting from transplantation (when a plant passes from one pot to another) can cause the plant to return to shock. This will eventually trigger a reaction causing a stretch. Cannabis plants that are not grown in decent conditions or do not receive enough nutrients will respond in a variety of ways and this includes stretching. Crops that are not spaced far enough apart are likely to stretch to sting the light to other plants. Due to extreme proximity, the plants will fight among themselves to reach the light, forcing them to expand as much as possible throughout the crop. HOW TO CONTROL STRETCHING DURING FLOWERING Stretching during flowering, you guessed it, takes place when you move your plants from the vegetation stage to the flowering stage. This is a completely normal reaction, as your plants are preparing to bear the weight of their heads. Stretching of a plant at the beginning of flowering varies widely; some plants can double in height while others grow only a few centimetres. There are, however, two main variables that can give you at least an idea of how your plants are stretching during flowering, and how much. Here are these two variables: Variety: Genetics has the greatest impact on the size of your plant. In general, sativa varieties stretch more than indicas and tend to develop long, slender stems. Light: Some lights, such as HPS, are more likely to encourage stretching. In addition, great distances between your canopy and your lights will cause the plants to stretch as they try to get closer to the light source. Stretching during flowering usually lasts the first two weeks of the phase. To minimize stretching, keep your lights between 10 (for CFL) and 30 centimetres (for HID) of your canopy. Finally, choose indica varieties if you have a smaller growing space. HOW TO AVOID STRETCHING In many cases, you can expect your cannabis plants to stretch during the flowering phase. Keeping that in mind helps to make a plan in case your species ends up growing much more than you could have imagined. If the information is available, get information on the standard size of your species and compare it to the size of your growing space taking into account the necessary distances between the bulbs and the plants. TRAFFIC While outdoor crop operations benefit from natural air to naturally limit stretching, indoor crops must assume the maintenance of air circulation within a confined space. Basic ventilation is enough to help the cannabis stems strengthen and become thicker rather than too high. In this way, the plants continue to grow vigorously without reaching heights and at the same time, your tolerance ceiling. MANUAL INTERVENTION For growers who want to get their hands dirty, there are physical procedures that can be done to reduce stretching. Similar to the natural effect that the wind has on cannabis plants, manually bending the leaves and stems will cause tiny cracks in the plant's tissues that will cause the plant to focus on regenerating its wounds instead of its vertical growth. THE TOPPING Topping is a form of manual intervention on cannabis to influence its performance, shape or size. In essence, topping is a process in which a new node is cut, growing from the plant to reduce its size and create a "v"-shaped notch that will eventually form two heads. Topping may be an effective measure to combat stretching, but it is important not to do so when the flowering phase begins. In most cases, an abnormal stretch of cannabis plants will not completely destroy your crop. In fact, stretching can indeed help increase your performance. For growers with a growing operation large enough to contain tall plants, stretching can increase the total yield of a species with more vertical space for head formation. In both cases, stretching can easily be planned in advance and there are multiple solutions to help you with this problem which is all too common. May the force be with you 💪

She has jumped to 28 inches. Impressive really. Defoleated A lot of useless bottom crap. Her stem has healed and is about 1 inch thick. She is looking and growing great.

Fue una exelente cosecha, esta planta en un principio se tuvo en imddor y posteriormente sacada al exterior. Es mi primera experiencia plantando en suelo. La planta llego a un gran tamaño de la cual se cosechó una gran cantidad superando la cantidad promedio.

Great week. Cloudy days and laid off the water. Only issue has been a consistent influx of caterpillars. Have been picking them off and removing the damaged flowers. The smell is powerful. Happy growing to all the viewers. May your harvest be bountiful.

Esta semana creció muy bien, la maceta que había buscado de forma provisoria anduvo muy bien ya la próxima semana voy a buscar la maceta definitiva para floración y arrancaré con un poco más de luz para poder dar un poco más de flores con un poco más de resina muy buena la cepa fuel og de Ripper seed, la verdad que supera mis expectativas día a día muy buen crecimiento muy buen olor excelente resistencia al estrés y buena tolerancia los calores y a las cambio de temperatura.

Day 44 - The pot this morning was light as a feather so gave her a gallon of water and nutes today. Overall, she still stretching quite a bit each day. Other than that, just tucked some leaves again and letting her go. Day 45 - All is looking good and still no real issues going on. I did remove a few lower fan leaves that were dead but other than that, just put her back in the tent and tucked the leaves again. No need for water yet, will be another couple of days. Day 46 - All still looking good with her. She’s still stretching about 1/2” everyday so should be decent sized by the time stretching stops. She’ll need some water tomorrow or Sunday. Day 47 - Gave her a gallon of water and nutes today and I’m gonna see how long it takes for her to drink it up. I might have to up the intake to a gallon and a half depending. Other than that, I removed a couple big fan leaves in the way and placed her back in the tent for the evening. Day 48 - All looking good but not really budding up yet like the Cherry Cookies. All in all it looks like this will be a pretty long grow compared to all my others. According to Wicked Pissah’s website, this one should be ready in 75-100 day so I’m thinking it’ll be a full 120ish days till this girls ready. Day 49 - The end of week 7 and this girl is just exploding with growth still. I really want to heavily defoliate her but don’t want to take the chance of messing her up. Just gonna let her go and continue to tuck all the leaves as best I can.

Leaves are fading, buds looking fat. Just plain water and occasional ice. I will never be a doctor, haha. Checking for tric color is a HASSLE. On the positive side I found some areas with lots of amber trics and others with only a few. The last week of Flower is official over I put the plants in darkness then time for chop. I have decided that after the chop I will hang the whole plant up to dry. Kinda funny, my second grow will harvest before my first. Thanks for looking. Cheers!

The temperatures, humidity, and watering volume(if measured) in grow conditions are all averaged for the week. The pH is soil pH. Any watering done by me is well water which is 7.6 pH and 50° F. Any listed nutrients are ml/gallon of soil. Day 1 we have lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 80's F. I watered today about 1.5-2 gallons per pot directly from the hose. Well water is 7.6 pH and about 50°F. #1 and #2 got topped today. #2 was topped in the evening at 6.30 p.m. I waited for it to get a little more space between the nodes, so there's a bit of stem above the node. This will help it to not split. Day 2 we had thunderstorms and rain in the morning followed by sunshine. The #3 plant was topped today. Day 3 we had lots of sunshine, temps in the mid 80's. That evening we had thunderstorms and rain which became severe that night. Hail was in the forecast but we missed it 🙏. I noticed the number 1 plant was growing crooked. I had moved the pots to get more sunlight and the one was uneven. I did some moving and adjusting today and hopefully it will straighten up. Day 4 we had rain in the morning followed by rain and thunderstorms intermittently into the night. Day 5 we had rains early morning and then cloudy most of the day. We have sunshine in the forecast for the weekend. 🙏🙏🙏 All pots were top dressed with 50ml of ferrous sulfate. Day 6 We had sunshine in the morning and afternoon. Clouds began to move in about 3.30p.m. Suddenly about 4:00 p.m. we had a severe thunderstorm that produced heavy rain and grape sized hail. Thankfully the hail only lasted a few minutes. There was some damage to this group, but only leaves. Day 7 we had sunshine, but cooler temperatures with highs reaching low to mid 70's. The plants began to show some Interveinal chlorosis in the new growth on day 5. I checked pH and it's above 7 in the pots. I added ferrous sulfate to counter this. On day 6 I noticed the #3 plant falling behind from receiving less direct sunlight. I've run out of space to accommodate the suns procession. I moved it to a better place for it to receive more sunlight. This week produced challenges. The topping was successful, but the position of the plants prevented some of them from receiving maximum direct sunlight. It took a few days to notice the affect on growth. We did not have much height gained this week. There was the issue with rising pH again, but this was promptly dealt with. We survived the challenging weather. Overall a successful week as lots of downward root growth was achieved. This will be evident next week as plants shoot up.

I did not now the weight of how much dry or wet flower I have because I decided to freeze right away all of the flower and after 24 hours in the fridge I created bubble hash unfortunately I only took pictures of the first batch total amount 58.6 grams of bubble hash of excellent quality despite treating this plant really badly it give me a very abundant flower With incredible density
