Hey hey growmies! another longer week, as I wanted to show these girls bouncing back from some problems I ran into with my Kratky experiment. about halfway through the week my plants started drooping and showing signs of overwatering, my guess is either the plant outgrew her air roots or the reservoir was too hot, inhibiting the plants ability to take up oxygen. either way, a quick peek at the roots showed some very healthy looking noodles, so I decided to not take any chances and come up with a solution that would solve both those problems. I took a 3 litre container, put a coat of primer and black paint on it to keep light out, then a layer of plumbers tape to bounce some of the grow lights off of the container, theoretically keeping the heat out, some other things I could have done was paint it white, or put some wall insulation around it. I could have also kept my jars and tried some troubleshooting, fill them less and more often. but I am happy with the roots created by Kratky, that's the nice thing about that system, it forces the roots to grow more horizontally, the roots have now created a sturdy foundation for low stress training and are perfect for placing into DWC. so that's what I did, I added a tiny pump and air stone, and for now both plants will sit in this tiny container, The Runtz will be moved to the tent as soon as possible, hopefully before these girl's roots get entangled, If that does happen, I will have to trim back some of the Runtz roots, I don't want to hurt the autoflower. now you've likely wondered what is up with the host of deficiencies the plants are showing, honestly that's just neglect on my part. I can tell there's damage from overwatering, pH fluctuations and even some lockouts. I am more on top of it now, the pH is more stable, the plants are getting oxygen and will recover plenty before flower. Plus I get to show off how hardy ruderalis is, look at the auto-flower compared to the photo period, she barely cares about the high temps, pH fluctuations all she appears to want is more food, so I have increased the ec to 1 ms, but most importantly, ill keep the pH in a range where they can actually take up the nutrients now That's it for now Growmies, Thanks for checking out my diary. This past week has been a blast! After getting these ladies nutrition straightened out, they are thriving!💚🌱💚 I gave defoliated wayyy more than what I see other growers traditionally doing. After the "3rd and final haircut" I defoliated two more times 😅 Thank you the GD community for the support and resources along the way 🙏 My only concern now is the tent actually becoming too crowded.😆. Week 9 - First Week of Flowering 🌸 The dark period has ended, and these ladies came back into the light fully energized and ready for action! It’s just the first week of flower, and they’re all praying, stretching, and absolutely thriving—filling up every inch of the tent. This grow space is officially packed from wall to wall, with each plant competing for its share of light and showing off some of the biggest, healthiest leaves I’ve seen yet! 🌱 A few strategic plucks here and there have kept airflow smooth and light penetration balanced. Those big leaves? They’re a sign of happy, healthy growth. Large leaves help the plant capture maximum light energy, essential during this stage, especially as they start focusing on developing those flowers. When plants grow huge, vibrant leaves like these, it means they’re well-nourished and content in their environment—a true testament to the well-balanced conditions we’ve got going in the tent! Flowering Parameters 🌡️ Room Environment: • Temperature: 26.7°C • Humidity: 63.3% • CO2: 960 ppm • VPD: 1.29 kPa (prime zone for flowering health!) Lighting: • Light Intensity: 835 PPFD (ideal for boosting flower growth) • Solution: pH 5.96, TDS 460 ppm, temp 21.1°C • Medium: Moisture: 100%, TDS: 520 ppm, Temp: 21.6°C Carbon Filter Installation & Smell Management 🌬️🌱 With the transition to flower, the scent profile is already starting to kick in—crazy for the first week, right? 🌸 To keep everything fresh and under wraps, I’ve set up a carbon filter system. Here’s how it’s working: I’ve connected the filter to my Aerofan, which pulls air directly from the tent. This air is cleaned by the filter and released into the main room, where it then passes through another filter before exiting my space. This dual-filter setup means no scent escapes into the wild, keeping things stealthy and the grow room a peaceful, scent-contained environment. Perfect for anyone concerned about keeping their home free from that telltale aroma! 🕶️🌬️ Enhanced Lighting with Emerson Effect 🌞 This week, I’ve introduced an extra 15 minutes of red light at the beginning and end of each light cycle. Why? Well, this red boost taps into the Emerson effect, enhancing photosynthesis efficiency, especially during the flowering stage. By stimulating a little extra wake-up and wind-down light, we’re mimicking the natural sunrise and sunset experience for these plants, which can help reduce flowering time. Not only does it encourage smoother transitions into day and night, but in theory, it’ll help these ladies finish a bit faster, while giving them a little nudge to build more substantial, quality flowers. 🌇 Nutrient Adjustments 🌱 Now that we’re in flower, I’ve swapped out the Start Booster for P-Boost and TopBooster to specifically support flowering needs. This week was a bit of a struggle. Plant was moved to 5 gallon container and into a tent. It took me a few days to get the humidity under control but all is well now that I've got a little better ventilation. The only thing I'm very concerned with now is bringing the ph down to a 6.5 -7. I'm going to use distilled water instead of nutrient mix for the next week and likely will heavily dilute the nutrient mix before next feeding.

Gave the photos a haircut today. Removed some fan leaves and lower branches that wouldn't amount to much. Gave the branches to my horse because he loves them! Tried enticing the ducks with fan leaves but they weren't having any of it. They prefer lettuce, not "The Devil's Lettuce"😂 I added in a little 5-1-1 fish fertilizer to my feeding regimen as well. Still picking off inchworms. And as you can see I made it to the hardware store and put up this baby almost completely by myself. I only asked my husband to hold the center roof panel support while I screwed it in. Couldn't have been better timing since hurricane Dorian came through yesterday and we had plenty of rain. Of course it didn't fully protect them but the majority of the rain hit the roof. And then it got down to 49 F last night. It's really Fall now! This girl is frosty and she ain't near done, those pistils are like a white walker! So looking forward to this finish, because it's gonna be better than last year for sure!

I had to buy a new tent, they started stretching and out grew my other one.. I clipped off a lot of big fan leaves but ima need to cut more ..their looking pretty good tho 💯✌️🏼

Now I have solved the light setting all the girls are starting to swell very well I have used so caning to spread the canopy other than that it’s that stage of patience watching the pistils and calyx’s mature, the smell of all these plants are delicious can’t wait now for harvest!!!

***I’m not sure why but it’s only letting me put 100 growing plants, but I actually harvested 180 plants in three separate rooms of about 300 sqfeet almost each, running in at 350 g per plant *** Given her being my first grow, I don’t really have anything to compare to but me and my plants have gone through a lot this year. Definitely going to need filters with this one, for the strong scent. 10 out of 10 would recommend this strain. I tried some fish fertilizer through some of the early growth and everytime I did, I would notice the plants beginning to burn so I completely stopped it, I learned organic is the best way to go if I’ll ever be using fertilizer again. This is the only way I would’ve learned it through experience! I didn’t think I can make it all the way through with my harvest, but ever since I got on Growdiaries everybody has helped me tremendously with every question I had, without the site my whole to harvest would’ve went to shit along time ago. Haha I really can’t thank my Growmies here enough for all their support. Every time I thought about giving up I would have uplifting comments assuring me my plants we’re doing fine. A message to all nee growers. Don’t be afraid of failure. Ask questions. I don’t know when my next grow will be but when, or if I decide to grow again, I’ll definitely document it on the best possible weed growing platform. Cheers friends!

05/19/2021 Week #7 flower. Gave her a good rinse today she was covered with pollen from nearby trees, drinking more water took 2 full two liter bottles before any runoff, soaking it up like a sponge. Couple hours later fed her some (1-3-3-1.5) N-P-K-calcium I anticipate two more weeks till harvest but we will see. Just got to keep her hydrated for next couple weeks. Apparently she is perking up! after taking a rest for a week or so. And putting on new flowers, and Tangie parentage is very identifiable in her SMELL! WOW Enjoy the videos.🙏 Ps. I decided to fix floppy stem, hopefully it will now put more effort into finishing flower! Will she swell in last weeks??

My tiny potter is doing pretty good. It is a hard grow with the plant this size. The window for ph error is very small since it dries the potter out in a few hours. It is very root bound, and drainage is very slow. I been feeding 2 to 3 times a day if I get the chance. I got a little nute burn when I increased nutrition a little too early. The twin tops might of gotten too close to the light as it stretched. Regardless it's looking pretty good for a tiny potter. She is bulking now, still under the Mars Hydro FC4800 light. nothing much else to report. Started the week out top dressing the plant with 1tbs of 4-4-4 and 2tbs of 2-8-4 and watered with 6oz to set soil. The next day I fed the soil with 2ml of Microbial Mass in 1L of water, and started low stress training the first node. Watering when dry and adjusting LST ties daily on first and second node. Plant is starting to flower on day 25! Looking good so far 😁

Today 23/07/22 We are two days into week 5, never talked about nutrient or water’ problems I had some leaves with few yellow marks but very small one beside that I always saw my plants green and happy, here you can see the scrog I set up yesterday not sure if this will work better but I think will help the branches grow further from the others increasing the light they riceve! I made it myself I will order one for the next grown when I will get my grow box! The watermelon is already flowering but the northern light no so today I started feeding the plants with different preparations.. I kept on giving the grow booster with a bit of bloom booster and viceversa for the watermelon! If you have any tips anything you think I’m doing wrong or you see it’s not ok let me know I don’t grow in a box I grow between the curtains and my window so the environment wasn’t always the perfect one

Day 21 - Past week or so was rough (drooping leaves), which recovered during the night period. I figured it was either light or heat. Turns out the lights were way to bright (brown tips, bleaching leaves, drooping leaves). Turned off the 300 watt LED. Turned the Two 75 watt LEDS TO 40% plant is now stretching out nicely. Will turn light up slowly once stretch looks good. Happy New Year! Day 22 - Stretch looks good turned lights up 5% and leaves stopped stretching so back to 40%. Day 23 - Everything is resolved. Lights were way to bright. Caused the plant to stay short and brown tips. Reduced lights by 60% and now it’s beginning to stretch a little during the day and a lot at night. Added nutes back in and reduced the water to 2 cups per day. Day 25 - added 5% on lights. Stretching nicely. Manage vertical growth with filling out using the lights. Day 26 - looking good increased water to 12oz per day. Day 27 - lights up 5% back down 5%. I leave it alone now. Couple gnats flying around. Not sure if it is a problem?
