6/8 Haven't had to water yet (besides the two tens and I should've held off). It's an overcast day. Perfect for the plants. I've noticed more off shoots of 3 pronged leaves so a few plants will reveg but thats fine. I'm happy with how things are going thus far. These are certainly very resilient strains. I've done some SLIGHT LSTing. EDIT: IT'S BEEN A NICE DAY TODAY. A LITTLE OVERCAST BUT SUNNY AT TIMES. PERFECT WEATHER FOR THE GIRLS. THEY ARE LOVING IT OUT THERE! 6/9 And the girls are lookin' Fiiiiiine. In all seriousness everything is doing pretty good. Even that overwatered pink kush runt in the 10gal is coming out of its little funk. Some of my FIM's turned out amazing! With the reveg of some of these I'll definately have my hands full. Very grateful for smart pots and well draining soil! We've gotten some harsh rain but the girls all seem fine. It's the wind today that's a little worrisome. I may stop over later. I COULD put up tarps around the cage as wind blocks (and have before in the past) but it increases the humidity of an already extremely humid day. These girls are strong. I'm sure they'll be fine. I've found that the tarps typically hurt worse than they help. 6/10 56° at 9am. Shook the plants off. Medium wasn't soaked though. Luckily we had some wind. It's not raining now but it's going to have showers for half the day. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 80's and sunshine so if that comes through things might workout alright. I still haven't had to water this year besides that one gallon on the tens. If I do something I'll update. I'm considering light stepping the two pink kush's in the 10's. I'll need to do more research. 6/11 BEAUTIFUL DAY! Windy too which helped dry the grow bags. Plants are growing at a rapid rate. I've yet to have to water. A few more days like this and I'll have too. It was in the 80's and is still 75 at 5:30. Bags still have heft to them and I can still feel moisture. They got tons of rain. I'll keep an eye on them. Thus far I'm pleasantly surprised (knock on wood). 6/12 Everything looked great this morning. It's a little overcast and 69° @ 8:45. I mixed water planning on watering but decided against it due to the weight I was feeling. My wife said it rained hard last night for a little while but the topsoil was dry. It did look disturbed though. Luke it got PELTED with rain. The medium looks dry but there is still some weight to the grow . I'll be back over later and I'll check things out. Overall plants have made a great transition even in this bi-polar weather extravaganza. EDIT: WENT BACK OVER AT NOON AND EVERYTHING WAS LOOKING WONDERFUL. ITS 80° AND SUNNY WITH A STRONG WIND. THAT'S WHY I FIGURED THE PLANTS WOULD NEED TO BE WATERED. APPARENTLY THOSE THUNDERSTOTMS WITH SHEET RAIN HAVE KEPT THEM WATERED. AS PREDICTED THE TWO 10GAL POTS AT THE FRONT OF THE CAGE WERE A LITTLE LIGHT AND THE TOPSOIL WAS REAL DRY. MY MK ULTRA IN THE 30GAL LOOKED LIKE IT COULD USE SOME WATER AS WELL AND I FINALLY GAVE SOME TO THE 10TH PLANET IN THE FRONT ROW. BOTH THOSE PLANTS WERE BIGGER THAN THE REST AT TRANSPLANT AND IN A SLIGHTLY LARGER CONTAINER. THE FRONT ROW SEEMS TO DRY OUT FASTER FOR SOME REASON. I HAD 3 GALLONS MIXED UP TO START WATERING BUT AFTER CHECKING EVERYTHING ELSE I DECIDED TO GIVE THE FRONT ROW (THE ONLY ONES THAT WERE LIGHTER) A LITTLE WATER. I USED TWO GALLONS FOCUSING ON THE KUSH'S IN THE 2 10'S. THIS WAS MY WAY OF MEETING IT IN THE MIDDLE. IVE LOOKED AT PREVIOUS DIARIES AND I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION. I would've thought that the bags would be dried out by now! I went around and it seemed like they still had weight. It was also cold last night and is 63° and sunny at 11am. It's not getting any hotter. I DID water the two plants in the back row as they seemed a LITTLE lighter than the others. I split a gallon between those two and didnt water the rest. I figured I'll let tje wind dry them out some more. I know what they feel like when they are totally dry. I don't want to get to that point but it's easier to fix than over watering. Go8ng through the plants I found that there's a point that has like three tops on it but the thick stalk continues up and there are FOUR or FIVE more TOPS!!! I've never seen anything like this! Bueno, empezamos por el final familia. Gorilla girl, me parece una cepa BRU-TAL , ya partiendo de esa base, mi error, creo que e cometido , es poner estos ejemplares en macetas de 5L, que tonto... mínimo recomendado 7L y a ser posible 11L Otro error fue no dejarlas una semana más. pero, escasez. (intentaremos curarla un par de semanas). Cepa con flores muy compactas, hay bastante separación entre nudos pero compensa las flores de verdad. Sabor muy dulzón a mi me recuerda a melón , es un pepino recomendado para amantes de la hierba que llevan tiempo en esto, un colocón muy fuerte, ahora mismo estoy bajo los efectos de esta vaina, aseguro que con cada frase, leo varias veces y detenidamente por que válgame.

Second week of flowering in the bag, and they’re all looking really healthy, even healthier than when I first threw them in the flower steady as she goes

Amazing strain, the most fragant in the grow. Very sticky buds, lots of resin. Last week of feeding.

She's starting to smell very nice! Already much stronger smell than my last grow which is welcomed! I moved the lights down 4 inches in hopes to 'light train' it and prevent the main cola from gaining more height so it can concentrate on the budsites, hopefully it pays off. Live and learn! Day 120, Flower Day 63 (end of week 9 of flower) Checked trichomes today on the GSC. Some pictures they look too glassy, and some show some amber trichomes. I decided to harvest today, although I could have waited a week. Filled 6 hangers with GSC cuttings, and have converted bathroom into a dry room. I have a humidifier and a fan in there, plus there's a central air vent, and the room stays pretty cool in the summer. Seems like ideal drying temperature and RH avg of around 60 F. This GSC plant will be my biggest yielding plant to date. I'm thinking 5+ oz once dried.

10days flushing, she smells of orange, sour and a tempting aroma

I had to transfer to the bigger pots the week. There was a lot of stretch in the cups and they were falling over. so will see how it goes this week. Coco with the Azomite and a little clone x myco powder at the root base, Just a baby feeding 1 mil/gal of the three part Emerald Harvest and Cal Mag in a 5 gallon bottle. PH at 6.1, then another 5 gallons of plain PH 6.2 water no food to get run off from the pots. The runoff was PH 5.8 so in happy with that. I got the time-lapse running so I will post it at the end of each week moving in to the next one. waiting on a green filter for the camera to help adjust the color so everything will not look blurpule. The 2 biggest started showing flower signs after the first week.. the smallest one is just there growing.. loving the gaia green living soil and top dressing..

Day 65! They are doing so well but they are super thirsty! Also the odor is a lot stronger now 💚💚 Day 66! 32”! Day 67! Not much to say Day 68! The trichomes are growing quickly and smells great 😊🌱💚 Day 69! From being so obsessed with the plants I got carried away with the shots lol Day 70! Just fed them 2 days ago and gonna have to feed tomorrow. They are thirsty!!

This girl has definitely stopped stretching, so now almost all of the growth is going to be located at the buds. I plant to increase nutrient concentration, but also light intensity (this one by pulling the LEDs closer to the canopy). This week it will hang at 30 cm from the top of the canopy, maybe next I will push it further to 20 cm next week... By the way, the thunderstorms are over so now I can consistently keep the humidity around 45% with just the 3 cpu fans ;) I am experimenting with trying to clone some branches even after 5 weeks of flowering. It's just for the LoLs, and to learn a little bit. I took a lot of clones from the bottom of this plant before with great success during defoliation, so I decided to up the challenge. I know you shouldn't stress the plant too much during flower, but she seems healthy enough to take it without a problem. // on the nutes of this week// So this week I decided to up the nutes again to 1.0, as the lower leaves are showing deficiencies, and this time the EC of the runoff is low (plus I've been feeding only 0.8EC or 400ppm, which is much less than people generally feed at this stage), so I'm more confident that it's not a nutrient lock out. We will see how she likes it. Remember that my noob friendly approach is that keeping my plant on a diet is better than killing it by overfeeding it.

Since correcting the PH the plant has done wonders. It only sadens me to see how much better this could have been if I wasn't bouncing around 5.0 ph for a little over a week in weeks 3 and 4. Harvest still looking good though coming up in the next 2 weeks. Buds are still extremely compact so I hope mold doesn't become a problem since my humidity is staying around 55, 60%. Trichs are everywhere, the pictures don't do it justice. Everytime I touch the plant my hand comes back sticky lol This will probably be like my first time growing this strain. Not a huge yield but quality bud 100%.

Well, this slow started lady has started to take off. Any concerns about her slow start are gone. Root system is extending nicely into her new home, She is not drinking a ton, but that is of no surprise at this age. I can confirm, I did start her off a little low in her net pot, but next week, when she gets topped, I will be able to add some extra clay pellets for stability.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations.
