🌱 Grow Journal – Week 8 This week, the plant kept growing steadily and looks healthy overall. She gained almost 8 centimeters in just seven days—that’s more than a centimeter per day, which is a great sign of strong development. I’m planning to work on her structure a little: probably a topping in the coming days, along with a light defoliation. The goal is to open up the canopy, improve airflow, and make sure the light is distributed more evenly, while guiding her growth in a balanced way. The main challenge this week has been the pH. This morning, the reservoir measured 4.8 while the tray was at 5.2, a 0.4 difference. I honestly don’t understand why the drop was so sharp. I had added Athena Balance, which should stabilize the nutrient solution. The only explanation I can see is the heat—we hit almost 31°C this weekend, and I suspect the nutrient solution was heavily affected by the temperature rise. If anyone reading this journal has insights on why this happens, I’d be glad to hear them. It’s a bit frustrating, because Autopots are supposed to make things simple. But in reality, I still need to monitor closely, especially since the coco buffer doesn’t seem to be doing its job properly—or maybe the reservoir just dropped too low and threw everything off. Either way, I’ll stay vigilant. Hopefully, with summer ending and temperatures cooling down, the solution will stabilize and the pH won’t swing so much. On the positive side, I’m still really happy with Athena nutrients. The solution stays crystal clean, no buildup, no deposits, and that makes things a lot easier to manage. So overall: strong growth, healthy plant, but pH management continues to be the main challenge. Let’s see how things evolve next week.

October 28, 2021 Doing my weekly diary updates a couple days early this week. This weekend I'm doing some work on the basement to finally finish the last of the construction projects for the Dude Cave!!! Once finished, I have a new 2x3 tent and a Viparspectra XS2000 (240w LED) that will be set up next week. Then I'll run the 2x3 for veg/autos and the 2x4 for photos. I spoke with Dylan from Coast of Maine today about my experience and issues with these girls. He said with a 3 gallon pot the Stonington Blend would only feed for around 3 weeks and additional nutrition should be fed starting around the 3rd week. He recommended the Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food as a top dress and then also adding Fish Bone Meal around week 6 (assuming autoflower and 10-12 weeks seed to harvest). He also said to go seed to harvest with the Stonington Blend adding water only would require at least 7-10 gallon pots for autos. Well, I already knew they were malnourished/underfed and I have been feeding Fox Farm Big Bloom and Neptunes Harvest Fish and Seaweed. I'm not sure how much these nutes may help at this point, but they can't hurt. I really have nothing to lose here, so let's see what they look like next week.

I had a lot of fun with this strain and it was grown against 400 growers so let me say PHENO hunting is a true thing. Overall the Bud was a nice dense structure and the smoke on it was smooth and the high nice and even.

Over all was an amazing grow, super sticky dense nugs with smell of berries, highly recommended for everyone!!

Having cal mag issues going to hit the grow store tomorrow am and see can I get some organic cal mag and see if that helps other than that no real issues 2/24 I’m going sit my dumb ass down and chill I did a defoliation and man I over did it I think it’s pretty aggressive and i don’t know what I was thinking I was just clipping away 🤦🏾‍♂️…… anyway got some calmag for the color issues only going 1/2 tsp see how that goes hopefully when the new growth and more stretch happens it’ll look a lot better I’m also bottom feeding the calmag hope that works too

I have been checking them every other day now and this is the week they'll be 'going dark' before I chop and hang them to dry. 12/5- I'm continuing to flush all three with 2g of straight well water with NPK Yucca Extract added, which I then ph to 6.5 @ 68℉, twice daily for a total of 4g each day. The two purple pheno's are just breathtaking in looks and their aroma's! The #2 plant is a beautiful cultivar as well, just not purple, with several huge cola's having formed due to her being topped! 12/7- Today at 'lights out' I placed all three Tropicana Cookies in the dark for 72hrs. I moved them to a dedicated room that is totally dark and which I can keep control of the temperature, humidity and air circulation (same room I use for drying). For the 72hr dark period I keep the temp's between 60-65℉ at a RH of 40-45% with decent air circulation. 12/11- Today, all three of the FastBuds Tropicana Cookies were released from 'Dark Jail'. I actually let them go an additional day, for a total of 96hrs in the dark, and from the looks of them it didn't hurt them one bit! All three look absolutely fantastic and the aroma coming off of them is just incredible! 🤪🔥 Every plant is heavily frosted up and all have tightly stacked, dense flowers. After chopping, I'm going to hang each of them whole to try to extend their drying time as much as possible. My dedicated 'Drying Room' has no outside light and is maintained at 58-60℉ with a RH of 50-60%. I use a de-humidifier, humidifier and two fans in the room. One fan is for air circulation, the other brings in cold outside air and the humidifier/de-humidifier handle the RH. I'm shooting for a 10-12 day dry, but that can always change because we all know 'shit happens'! 😁 My next diary entry will be after these fine ladies are done drying, get trimmed up, weighed and jarred. I felt things were going well, and didn't want to jinx it.... however my time has come for the next level of challenges. This week things were looking great, but then I saw some leaves having discolored spots. I looked under the microscope and saw it was the leaf, didn't think much more of it. Next day, more spots, so I investigated. looking again with the microscope, I found the devil! Spider mites! So, I sprayed greencleaner on them at light shutoff... and the following day plant does not look too good. Looks dry and light burned. So I moved the lights up, they were not a problem before and the plant had stopped stretching this week. hopefully I this will go away, but I need to spray tomorrow to keep with the schedule, hope it does not dry out y plants as much this time! However looking at the bugs again, they are dead! I also lollypopped the girls, however since I am a noob, I could have trimmed more, but it makes me nervous of taking off too much, so maybe a few days I will take some more off, or just watch the dead leaves closer, and will clear daily...

Das ist nicht gerade ein Qualitätsmerkmal , eher ein Quantitätsmerkmal . Aber ich möchte auch wissen wie stark sich das auf die Qualität auswirkt . Die Schwester hinkt zwar kräftig hinterher wegen ihrem Wasserschaden, aber zum Rauchen allemal gut . Leichte Cal-Mag Probleme werden sichtbar . Day 67: + 2 Liter Flaschenwasser + + Spülung + + + Canna Boost + + + Cannazym + + + Plagron PH- + + PH 6.0 Day 68: keine besonderen Anzeichen , die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist so zwischen 60% bis 64% . Geht gerade nicht anders . Ist jetzt aber zum abreifen auch nicht Schlimm . Dafür sind die Temperaturen bei konstanten 26°C Day 69: Alles läuft nach Plan. Kein defizit, ergo , es wird nur rest Dünger in der Erde abgebaut.
