Chopped her on the 11th week of flower at about 15% amber. Has a pretty heady Stoney high, euphoria, body buzz. Not a couchlock but definitely sedated but functional.

We are officially in full bloom. The have been enjoying 6-7 hours of sun light per day for about 4 days now, then brought back in under the cobs. The girls are all exploding with growth and stacking what I expect to be huge buds.

🌿 Lava Cake – Week 5 (First Week Flower) | Pre-Bloom & Heat Talk 🌿 The Lava Cakes have officially stepped into their flowering tent… though, to be fair, they’re still enjoying a little extra veg time before showing pistils. Both phenos are healthy, lush, and stretching beautifully, clearly ready for the show ahead. ⸻ 📸 Photo Studio Glam We took them out for another studio shoot, bright lights, clean background, and every angle showing off their deep greens and perfect branching. Soon, their beauty will be dressed in flowers, but for now, the leaf structure alone is worthy of the spotlight. ⸻ 🌡️ Current Conditions • Room Temp: 31°C • Humidity: 50.3% • VPD: 2.23 kPa • PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Soil Temp: 25.6°C Yes, the temperature is running hot — AC unit is on the way to lock it back into our ideal zone. ⸻ 💬 Heat in the Grow Room – Risks & Benefits Potential Risks: • Faster substrate drying = more frequent irrigation needed • Higher transpiration rates can stress plants if roots can’t keep up • Slightly increased risk of light stress at high PPFD without proper cooling • Possible reduced terpene retention if sustained into late flower Possible Benefits (short term in veg/pre-flower): • Accelerated metabolism — plants grow and stretch faster • Increased water/nutrient uptake (if well-fed and watered on time) • Can improve CO₂ usage efficiency if levels are high enough Bottom line: As long as they’re hydrated, fed, and ventilated, short bursts of high temp are manageable. But for flowering, we want to keep daytime temps closer to 24–28°C for optimal quality. ⸻ 💧 Watering Strategy We water when the soil dries to about 25% moisture remaining, this encourages: • Stronger root growth searching for water • Better oxygenation of the root zone • Less risk of root rot in warm temps Right now: They’re drinking daily due to the heat, so we’re feeding daily as well. ⸻ Current Feeding (per L of water) • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml • Aptus All-in-One Liquid – 1 ml • Aptus Top Booster – 0.25 ml With the increased drinking rate, nutrient uptake has increased — meaning no signs of deficiency, just steady lush green. ⸻ 🚀 Looking Ahead • AC installation will stabilize temps, allowing tighter VPD control • First signs of pistils should appear within the next 7–10 days • We’ll begin adjusting feed ratios for early bloom once flowers set • Light intensity will climb further as stretch continues ⸻ 💚 Closing Note: This week is all about momentum, heat or no heat, the Lava Cakes are pushing upward, prepping themselves for a heavy flower load. Been off here for a while, thought I’d update. She’s been battling some calcium and N deficiencies lately, so I’ve topdressed her with some dolomite lime and started giving her full strength feeds. She’s been thickening up quickly and nicely, and she’s smelling like cheesy BO but in a good way.

A bit too much Potassium (yellowing tips on the newer leaves), reduce the amount added. Keep stretching. Crop steering (generative strategy for 3 weeks) help to reduce the stretch amount.

So I started this plant in my miracle grow Aerogarden for about 2 weeks then moved it to the coco pots. When I moved it the stem was really thick and very impressive. I originally had a second generation hydro Hawaii Maui Waui in the tent with her, really just expecting a small grow. Instead this monster took over all the space (and then some), so I moved the Maui Waui out and spread laughing buddha out, added another net and moved the 150w to the lower side to boost the Larf a little and hopefully add weight. So far so good, the stretch was definitely amazing to encounter. She grew a whole other 3x her size, from the bottom net to where she is now. The smell is so fruity it puts the Maui to shame with the deliciousness. AMAZING!!! That's all I can say thus far is FUCKING AMAZING!!!

I am aiming for a well structured green screen. After topping they have started a scary growth, I hope for the 6 week of vegetative they are nice big and compact to generate big bright buds. Good luck growes🍁

Hey now! So after 8 days of drying, and 6 days of curing, I just tried the Sour Diesel in a glass water pipe, and she is freaking amazing. She burns nice and slow, with thick clouds of smoke, and tastes exactly like she should, like a sour/citrus/fuel with a very nice aftertaste. I ended up with less than 20% of wet weight, but I am so ecstatic with the quality, I could freaking care less! I have a fantasy football draft on Saturday night, and I can't wait for the rest of my league to sample her! I had so much fun with this grow, from constructing the watering/draining system, to learning more about photography and video, to meeting everyone in this community, and finally to smoking Nugs that I actually grew! Fruity aroma all over. This run came out better than i expected even though she took some abuse. Drying with herbnow dryer.

WW#1: Opening the jar stinks up the whole house...kinda like if you had a basket full of lemons, limes, and oranges...and left them in the trunk of your car for a week of 100 degree weather...very sour/funky. Only one week of cure so far, so can't give a full review on taste, but it's pungent and kinda tastes like it smells...sour and funky with a hint of fresh cut oak (or is it mahogany??) I've gotten a little bit noseblind to the pungency, and now I'm saying that an upclose sniff of a bud smells kinda like a mix of the funky rotten citrus fruit I mentioned before, but doused with a little turpentine. Short/stocky, good branching able to support it's own bigass buds. The main cola was 100g, wet, and just under a foot long. Total dry weight was 85g. WW#2: Murdered on 8/26! Main cola was almost 15 inches and weighed 120g, wet. She's bigger and badder...can't wait to taste her...😍 Total dry weight was 90g. I updated my lighting to reflect actual draw wattage and my grow room space to 4 square feet because that's all that these two plants required. I think the numbers are a more accurate representation of the truth about my yield for the two White Widows in this grow. Can't wait to smoke her!
