Cosmic Noodles — Week 5 from Seed Transition Week · Pre-Flower Expression · Two Approaches, One Room Hello everyone, and welcome to a big Week 5 update 🌱 This one is photo-heavy and detail-heavy, so thank you for bearing with us, there’s a lot happening, and we wanted to document it properly. This week marks what we consider a transition / pre-flower week, where hormonal shifts are clearly visible, structure is defining itself, and flowering intent is becoming obvious, especially on one of the plants. ⸻ 🌱 Quick recap for anyone just joining • Two autoflowers, same genetics, same room, same environment • Different early light histories: • One plant received an initial ~15 days under 18/6, then switched to 12/12 • One plant has been 12/12 from seed • Both are now growing side by side under 12/12 • No topping, no cutting, no high-stress training → Only low-stress techniques This run intentionally goes against many traditional autoflower “rules”, and that’s part of the learning process. ⸻ 🌿 Two Low-Stress Training Approaches (No Cuts, No Stress) 🔧 Plant with initial 18/6 period — Clamp-based LST This plant is responding extremely well to structural opening using metal clamps. • Clamps were used early to open the structure horizontally • Most clamps are now hidden under leaf mass, which is exactly what we want • Branching is strong, symmetrical, and well distributed • The plant currently looks like a round, open bush / ball • Internodes are stacking nicely, with great airflow She is not very tall yet, but that’s intentional — she has been pushed outward first. Now that structure is set, we expect vertical growth to accelerate. By the end of the week, she is clearly more advanced in pre-flower, with visible pistils and early flower formation. ⚠️ Important reminder: This plant also has ~15 days more life than her sister, which absolutely plays a role in developmental timing. ⸻ 🍃 Plant 12/12 from seed — Leaf bending & gentle tucking The second plant is trained exclusively through: • Leaf bending • Leaf tucking • Gentle redirection No clamps, no anchors — just guiding light access. She is: • Much taller (around ~30 cm by eye) • Roughly double the size vertically • Growing very fast, with all branches reaching upward • Open, dynamic, and beautifully balanced Her architecture suggests: • A strong root system still building • Rapid vertical expression • A plant preparing itself confidently for flowering She is slightly behind in visible flower development, which is expected given her age, but she is clearly transitioning. ⸻ 🌸 Flower Development & Pistils (White Hairs) On the plant that had the initial 18/6 period, we are seeing many pistils already. These white hairs: • Are the female reproductive organs • Indicate readiness to receive pollen (even though none will) • Signal the onset of flowering The 12/12-from-seed plant will show the same soon — just slightly later, which aligns perfectly with: • Her age • Her different early light history Nothing abnormal here — just biology doing biology. ⸻ 🌿 Leaves, Color & Genetics Both plants are showing: • Deep, lush green • Beautiful leaf texture and definition • No signs of deficiency or stress This is likely a combination of: • Strong genetics • Balanced nutrition • Correct environment • Gentle handling It’s honestly a privilege to watch them grow like this. ⸻ 💧 Watering, Nutrition & Why CalMag Comes In Now Hand-watered plants (the two we’re discussing): • Water: rainwater + dehumidifier-collected water • Very low mineral content → requires supplementation • This week we introduced CalMag Pro at 1 ml/L Why now? • Rapid growth + pre-flower = higher demand for Ca & Mg • Prevents: • Leaf issues • Structural weakness • Uptake problems later in flower Current hand-watering parameters: • pH: 5.9 • EC: 1.43 • Nutrition increased because plants are asking for it ⸻ Autopots (other plants in the room): • Mineral-only approach • Organics don’t work well in autopots • EC: 2.29 • pH: 6.1 Different systems → different recipes → same goal: healthy plants. Photos show measurements clearly for transparency. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Check (Winter Reality) Outside conditions: • 4–5°C • 90–95% humidity Inside: • Temps dropped slightly but remain stable • Day RH ~58% with lights on • Nothing concerning yet That said: • Winter is humid • Conditions may shift • We are watching closely and will adapt as needed For now: all good. ⸻ ☀️ Light & PPFD PPFD is adjusted per plant size, not uniformly: • Ranges roughly 700–850 PPFD • Plants are praying constantly • Clear sign they love the spectrum and intensity Again: light is tailored, not brute-forced. ⸻ 🌱 Daily Handling & Plant Care • Hand-watered plants are taken out individually • Weight is checked • Plants are observed closely • Positions are adjusted so no one feels crowded The room is becoming a mini jungle, and that’s exactly the intention 🌿 ⸻ Fungus Gnats — Honest & Controlled Yes, we have some fungus gnats. • Yellow sticky traps are in place • Watering is controlled • Dry-downs are respected Personally, I see them as: • A manageable part of organic systems • A reminder to stay balanced • Possibly even a mild defense trigger (personal philosophy, not science) They are under control, and roots are healthy. ⸻ New Team Member: Mr. Baggy This week also marks the first appearance of Mr. Baggy — our fluffy blue buddy won in a Grow Diaries contest 🏆 He’s officially part of the crew now, and you’ll be seeing more of him around. ⸻ 🌱 Final Thoughts & Encouragement These two autoflowers are growing beautifully, despite: • Non-traditional light schedules • Different early paths • Ignoring much of the usual “bro-science” This run is a reminder that: • Cannabis does not behave linearly • Each garden is its own ecosystem • Trying, failing, observing, and learning is how knowledge is built I strongly encourage everyone to: • Test things yourself • Think independently • Respect the plant more than the rules Nature often surprises us. ⸻ 🔮 What to expect next • Continued stretch on both plants • Clear flowering progression on both • Structural payoff from current training • Ongoing environmental adjustments as winter continues Thank you all for following along, for your patience with this big update, and for the love and support. Esta noche se ven creciendo con gran vigorosidad estas cepas Chilenas Pure Inferno y Bloodnana, actualmente esta finalizando su 3era semana y entrando a la 4ta., desde sus 2 hojas reales. las nenas se alimentas bien y se ven felices actualmente se da alimenta con fertilizante Advance nutrients. comenzando la floracion estan bastante grandes. en riego, se da una ves por semana advance nutriens y 2 solo agua sola. penultima semana con big bud. PH:6.3 EC:1220

Week 5! End of Veg? Preflower? Flower? Very eventful week. Throughout this week at ever watering the plant got a round of LST+Tucking. At this point I'm trying to maximize the amount of growth sites getting light exposure and also trying to keep the canopy relatively flat/level. Full strength nutrients per normal. About this point I was getting really worried about space, particularly giving the genetics of this plant tend to the larger side. Impulse purchased a net and on 9/17/25 the ScrOG net was installed and I did my best to use it to curate the canopy. ~placed about 8" from the top of the pot and besides that I just gave it my best go, not exactly sure if I did it right or not. Towards the end of this week pistols become pretty apparent on most of the plant! Some very light defoliation was done, just a couple of oversized fan leaves that weren't getting much light anyway. LED was set to 100% (and slightly raised) per manufacture specification towards the end of this week. Wouldn't be a first grow without a scare of the week. 😵 Last week we had an accidental topping, this week we have roots growing all outside the pot. On 9/16/25 I noticed the root growth out the bottom of the pot. My wildly unintelligent drain pan setup used bows to space the pot up and they collected runoff, leaving the roots with a nice bath of runoff water to grow into. Learning every week, this week I learned about air-pruning. Went ahead and cut these root growths off, purchased a 1$ Lowes runoff pan, and returned three bowls and a nice Pyrex dish back to the kitchen. About the same time of my root issue, within the next 2 days a good amount of leaves had slight yellow tips...

They started flowering gave them Chicken Manure a few days earlier when I noticed it, in the 3rd week if flower i'm going to give them rabbit manure and make a flowering tea for them 😁we will see how it goes also might get a PK Booster 🤔

On flower day 60, it was finally time. Three days before the final cut, I did a last light watering with plain water. The last 36 hours, the lights stayed on. In the end, I had around 20–30% amber trichomes. I'm super happy with the result. Trim jail was exhausting but totally worth it. The harvest is now right in the middle of curing. As for the smell: a sharp, earthy, leathery diesel mix with hints of lemon. The fuel note is, to my delight, much stronger than expected. Incredibly sticky buds. Sparkling flowers. All has gone good this week topped #2, #3, #4 , for the 2nd time, continuing training.forming good flat canopy, switching them over to flower as it's the end of week

I've finally managed to stabilize the PH value at around 6. The lamp has been running at 600W for 10 days. It gets really warm in the tent but the buds get nice and thick :) Or do you prefer 400W then I can keep the temperature better at around 24 degrees

May 22nd - pH 6.1, PPM 1310, 2.6 EC, 85/75f, 47% humidity - late water change, around midnight, probably will add more CALiMAGic when I go to check the water later today (the 23rd), just very scared to have it turn cloudy af on me again and ruin the whole thing lol. May 23rd - pH 6.2, PPM 1650, 3.7 EC, 78/70f, 44% humidity - increased the amount of CALiMAGic, Micro, and Purpinator in the bucket, nutrients list updated to reflect, noticing some clawing, its either wind burn or nitrogen toxicity I'd guess. update: can't be wind burn, they're not going fast enough. don't really know what is up with those few clawing leaves just hope more don't happen. May 24th - Unable to get data this day. May 25th - pH 4.0(??) -> 6.2, PPM 2080, 4.2 EC, 82/69f, 47% humidity - Didn't get info yesterday, woke up before work to adjust plant and found it super low in pH? Pen stopped being calibrated so I pH'd to 6.0ish before I left and then recalibrated the pen when I got home and pH'd to 6.2. PPM is climbing, but the water level is going down too, will add more water tomorrow. May 26th - pH 6.0 -> 6.4, PPM 2100, 4.2 EC, 81/68f, 46% humidity - pH'd up to 6.2-6.5 range, noticed little rust spots. May 27th - Unable to get data this day. May 28th - pH 6.6 -> 6.1, PPM 2180, 4.4 EC, 81/72f, 38% humidity - pH'd down into range. Did some defoliation today, took a lot from the lower and middle 'cause 360° light. Added less than half a gallon of tap water.

All plants except the banner kush are flowering and looking good some kind of nutrients burn on the 1 GG plant.

Harvested around 1 week ago, slowly drying with around 22° and 60% humidity. Big plants hard frosty buds. Good genetics.

This is the first week with only 12 hours of light and the plants grow pretty well 😎 I removed some leaves here and there to give some light to the new branches but no major defoliation. The broken branch of the Cashew Kush from last week (see D42 - Cashew Kush) has survived and went back towards the light, it's a strong plant! 💪 The light is now set to 100% and is really hotter than at 75%. I cannot leave my hand on the top of it for too long or it burns a bit. Despite of that, I have no temperature issues in the room. So. Couple things happend and i choped them a bit earlier than colours would say or i would want, but ; I touched one bud , squeezed it ;))) and after 3 days it was budrot, so i panicked ( so much , that even forgot to take pictures) and turned off lights for 3 days . Second thing my last photo will show - i decided to reveg best plants and didnt want to flush out them totaly ... First two smalest plant produced : Leafy no bottom trim - 66 grams, but they where mostly airy Two round defoliated weakest one - 60 g of lovely small nugs . Tasted both same, maybe leafie one had more smell at begining... Both on cure still... Now always leaf strip before flower, around week 3 and 6 of flower and bottom strip. Hated that time while i was playing with trim on those 1/5 of popcorn bud sometimes ;))) P.s. while choping forgot to take photos one of the niciest girls ;)
