Let’s dig into the details of this week! 🌟 Growth & Development This week marks a turning point for the girls! While their slow but steady growth continues, I decided to top a few of them. Why? Topping not only encourages bushier growth but also allows the untopped plants to catch up, creating a more balanced canopy moving forward. Each one is still showcasing those jaw-dropping unique traits that make this run feel like a gallery of natural art. The Mentha de Croco mutants truly live up to their name, with each leaf telling its own story—some broad and serrated, others narrow and elongated, all equally breathtaking. Watching them evolve week by week is a lesson in patience and appreciation for the beauty of diversity in nature. 🌡️ Environmental Conditions Good news on the environmental front! The room’s temperature has stabilized to a more comfortable range, with daytime temps at 22°C and RH steady at around 66%. These are near-ideal conditions for vegetative growth, helping the girls to stay happy and stress-free. Additionally, I’ve been sticking to bottom-watering. Filling the trays and allowing the soil to wick up moisture not only ensures the roots get what they need but also keeps pesky gnats at bay—especially when paired with yellow sticky traps. This method has made a noticeable difference in keeping the grow area clean and pest-free! 🛠️ Cultivation Techniques: To Clone or Flip? The big question of cloning or flipping still hangs in the air. I’m taking my time to observe and assess their progress. Each plant is so unique that I want to give them the space and time to reveal their full potential before deciding. Let’s touch on the two potential strategies for next steps: 1. Flipping to 12/12 for a Short Period: This would allow me to determine sex quickly, but it can stress the plants slightly. 2. Cloning: Creating clones and flipping them instead is a great way to preserve the integrity of the main plants while identifying males and females without disrupting their growth cycle. Both approaches have their merits, and I’m leaning toward cloning once they’re big enough to snip without harm. 📸 Photography Corner: Highlighting Details This week, I brought out the cameras again—my trusty Nikon and Sony with interchangeable lenses—because, let’s face it, phone cameras just don’t do justice to the intricate beauty of these plants. Whether it’s the textures of the leaves or the play of light on the water droplets, having the right lens makes all the difference. For close-ups, I used a macro lens, which allowed me to capture every vein and serration on those incredible mutant leaves. For a wider perspective, I switched to a standard lens to showcase their overall growth. * ********* Week 11 - June 20 to 26, 2020 - Days 71 to 77 from germination *********** * It is the end of flush week and she went into darkness on Wednesday night, day 75, for two days. Saturday will be harvest day and start and the dry process👍 She has certainly been going through the beautiful stage of senescence and her fade is gorgeous. The purples and yellows coming out are great......covers up the brown spots😂😂 Her buds are densing this week as we work on bring down the humidity. Running in the mid 60’s for humidity late in flower is a different experience and one that takes some getting used to. Bring down further to low 50’s has really helped to bring out her frost as well. Kept the humidity high to form big buds......now lowering to make them more sticky👍👍 I am feeling very strongly that the big part of the pH issues this run was a change in feed water. I have always used bottled RO water for all my grows, except outdoors, but this grow I switched to tap water. Dechlorinated the water with air stone and gave it 24 hours min before using. Wanted to save some money and tired of lugging bottles downstairs a couple of times a week☹️ This is worked out nicely and a lot more convenient. However, the city must be putting some crap in the water that is causing issues in my media and raises the pH after the watering. Out of the tap it is 8.4pH and 275ppm. Since ppm were not too bad in my opinion I moved forward without filtering the water.......oops🤬🤬🤬 Out of options on what is causing the issue, I switched back to RO water late last week........all the girls are happier!!!! F......missed the cause for weeks. Always learning from this plant and my own mistakes to get better every run😉👍 Also wanted to add a little more stress to girl to help push out some increased resin. I drilled a 5/16” hole into the main stem to cause her stress. I did this rather than trying to break a branch and will see how it goes this run. Sterilized a new bit in Alcohol and went for it. They went into darkness about a couple of hours later. Excited to see what happens when she comes out to get chopped😃😃 Little more detail...... June 20/20 - Day 71 - Rezin and Liquid Weight @ 2ml/L = 285ppm and 4.0ph - 8L given to get a good flush - Runoff in pots already were 7.8pH and 485ppm. - after 8L water runoff was 7.0pH and 370ppm. - she is 29” tall and 30” wide. - tricombs still mainly cloudy.....review again in couple of days. June 21/20 - Day 72 - Dry out day - buds are firming up......squeezed a couple🧐 - temps are nice outside so tent able to hold 75 degrees and 51% humidity. June 22/20 - Day 73 - Rezin @ 1ml/L = 120ppm and pH the water to 2.7!!!!!!!!! - Given 2L watering. - No runoff water and I am good with that as I want the low pH water to stay in the medium. - She will be ready soon. Thinking darkness on Wednesday and harvest on Saturday?? June 23/20 - Day 74 - 2L plain water feed - 80ppm and pH to 2.4!!!!!! - not excited about these crazy low pH numbers but doing what we can - her tops are getting really pointy now and her leaves are very yellow. - checking tricombs, I think we are done and tomorrow will be her last day so that I can take down on Saturday. June 24/20 - Day 75 - 2L plain water feed - 80ppm and pH to 3.0 - Going into darkness tonight so this was her last bit of moisture. - drilled a hole into the stem.....was going to do a couple of holes but not trying this method before I decided to leave it with one hole. - into darkness tonight So we finish up the week with her in the dark. 8/21/24 gave her some cal mag from the uprising foundation. 5 ml total for the 5 gal pot. 3 tsp of grow and 2 tsp of bloom. slowly transitioning from grow to bloom over the course of 4 weeks. did some light defoliation and some lollipopping. shes not too bushy in the sense of leafy. her fan leaves have super long petioles. 8/26 she's grown four inches so far this week. about an inch a day. wild.

Laid out the Srog nets with intention to change the light setting next week. Added pre-flower nutes as well as a 1" top dress - with some added nutrient mix. Thoroughly watered and ready to start training. Plant #1 - Super thick/compact, and SCROG will be a bitch. Plant #2 - More lanky but 3 weeks behind its sister. Going to go to flower as it does have my 16 bud sites.

But also started to let the right side grow through the netting. As for TKO, been training growth upwards as she stretches through the scrog netting. Towards the end of the week, her top soil sensor started to cut out and had to swap it out with a new one. Both the Heady OG and TKO clones have been transplanted into solo cups, but Heady OG is clearly struggling. To prevent the potential loss of the genetics, decided to take two more Heady OG cuttings. Started my first batch of lactobacillus (LAB) serum and am waiting for the water to activate. Then let it sit for a few more days for the lacto cultures to proliferate. ------ Once the milk separates into essentially curds and whey, strain out the curds and the extracted whey is the finished Lacto Serum. ------ This serum should remain shelf stable in the fridge for several months. ------ Alternatively, black strap unsulfured molasses can be added to the serum at 1 part molasses to 4 parts serum. She’s going to root and will be ready for transplant in a week or so. --- Both Heady OG cuttings are looking healthy and ready to be rooted! --- Time to plant the second round of Heady OG (BX1) cuttings! - [21:13]: Filled a measuring cup with 1.5 cups of RO water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] ------ Added 1/64tsp of Horticultural Aloe ------ Added 1/32tsp of Mycrobe Complete --- Mixed the solution thoroughly. - [21:17]: Dropped 2 Coco Coins into the measuring cup. --- The coins immediately started to expand. ------ [ ~10 MINUTES LATER ] --- Took each fully saturated Coco Coin and temporarily placed them in half-cut solo cups. --- Using a squeeze bottle filled with Clonex, - [21:38]: Gently filled each pre-made hole with Clonex rooting gel. --- Time to plant the cuttings! - [21:43]: Using a pair of clean trimmers, made a final 45° cut. --- Also stripped and scrapped some of the stem’s outer membrane. --- To help with planting, gave each Coco Coin a squeeze to loosen the coco. --- Made sure to insert each stem straight and snug with the tip about a 1/4 inch from the bottom of the Coco Coin. --- Also secured the stem by pinching and pressing in the sides of the Coco Coin. --- After both cuttings were planted, --- Temporarily took the clones out of the propagation tray. Also placed the plug tray back in. - [21:53]: Placed both Coco Coins into the propagation dome’s tray. --- Since these cuttings are both identical cultivars, no need to really name. --- Added 1/2 cup of RO water to the bottom of the tray. --- Since I’m not using the dome lid (which is currently hanging above the tray), misted a couple of clear cups with RO water. - [21:55]: Covered both cuttings. --- Will need to mist the cups for the first few days in the tray. --- While rooting the cuttings, noticed that both clones (Heady OG BX1 and TKO) need to be watered already. --- Let’s go! - [22:02]: Took the initial starting weight range of both clones before watering, ------ Heady OG BX1 #1 » 261.4g → 301.2g ------ TKO » 240.9g → 301.4g --- General Solo Range: [Dry] «| [Initial Cup Weight] + ~55-100g |» [Wet] --- All phenos were last watered 2 days ago. --- Took the starting weight of both clones before watering, ------ Heady OG BX1 weighed 278.2g ------ TKO weighed 253.5g --- While on a scale, --- Gently misted the straw mulch of both cups with RO water. --- Focused on the straw and sprayed as evenly as possible. --- Misted 10-20 sprays. Waited a moment, then misted again. --- Repeated this process for both cups. --- There was no runoff. - [22:18]: Took the saturated weight of both clones after watering, ------ Heady OG BX1 weighed 278.2g ------ TKO weighed 253.5g --- Marked the final wet weight on the back of each cup. Gray half of the week. Probably at least another 50mm of rain..still.cold most of the time low 20ies most of the time & nights dropping as low as single didgets but mostly around 14degrees. Everyone of them seems to love this weather. The wolverine is budding nicely. Gonna try to give them another dose of fish/seaweed solution with dish soap, Epsom salt & molasses. Gonna be the last feed for the wolverine.

Hands down she has raced to be the first plant that will be harvested, which I do not mind because this cheese scent she has is driving me crazy, my senses are drooling 🤤 and crying, patience is a skill reserved for the brave. Love how the LST has given me about 3 main stems, the crystallisation on this plant is incredible, it looks like I am growing it in an indoor environment. All she’s doing is fattening her buds, I hope she gives about 50grams of dry bud. I need to start formulating a questionnaire, I am going to dedicate 10grams to researching how well I grow bud, that is six strains, 10grams each, that is about 60 joints weighing a gram each. At the end I want to open my own community weed forum.

I cant war to grow this strain again. Next time we do a pheno-hunt on this strain.

Nothing much to report. She’s settled in and working on full flower. Cleaned a couple low hanging leaves, no more snipping past week 3. Up to every other day watering, roughly a liter. She’s been a breeze so far. Till next week.

420 Fastbuds Week 2 Veg FBT2301 The two of these are starting off great. The few rust spots stopped and stayed on the couple leafs it showed up on. I feed 500ml of solution every other day. I did start the General Hydroponics 3 part Flora series as well as the Calimagic. On week one I started 1/4tsp per gal ratio every other feed, so far no burn so will probably bump it up this coming week and see how they respond. All in all Happy Growing.

This girl has got some absolutely beautiful leaves. They have a dark tinge to them, that I don't know if it shows through on the pictures, but it is very cool. I think I may have too many buds for the size of my grow space but I can't decide which to trim or if I'm just overthinking things. Ill leave her for now and just tuck away leaves as the bud sites start to develop and then later trim any, if there are any of course, that may not have time or space to grow....... so for now I'll leave her to decide. she looks indica dominant (I've not checked) which suits me, I'm a fan of indica in a growing sense for my space, but means she will be a thirsty girl in my experience, compared to the sativa dominants. You can see in the photos that she has started to take square shape for her canopy space. I was once worried about her leaves touching the £1 emergency blanket I use as light reflection in the grow cupboard but has never been an issue its way too thin to hold anyway near enough heat to ever be an issue so the shaping also come somewhat naturally. shes under a selection of home standard LED bulbs around 10w, random blasts of UVB from a reptile light (I think helps growing with a slight slowing of the auto influence. My own thoughts from previous experiments only.) the other lights remain on 24 hours with a few 5 min breaks in the timer to cool the bulbs down a touch. I of course talk to her/them on a regular basis which has some scientific backing somewhere showing benefit for both of us.
