How RQS Compares to Your Standouts Brothers Grimm (your "otherworldly" stars: Montel Iced Tea, Body Count, Bubbles Blueberry F4, Ricky’s Hash Plant, Black Tangi Tea) These are landrace-influenced, heirloom-style genetics with exceptional resin, unique flavors, and structure. They outperform RQS in quality, potency, and "wow" factor in your tents. RQS tends to be more commercial/hybridized for ease and yield, while Brothers Grimm prioritizes distinctive traits and consistency in experienced hands. Humboldt Seed Company autos (your top autos for resin, especially OG Triploid) Humboldt focuses on West Coast legacy genetics with heavy resin production. Clearly superior to RQS autos in trichome density and overall quality. RQS autos are faster and easier for beginners but often lack the resin "frost" and depth you get from Humboldt. Fast Buds (fast, flavorful, reliable autos — you like them a lot) Excellent speed and flavor profiles. You noted they're in a "different class" — fair point. Fast Buds emphasizes quick cycles and modern hybrids with nice terps, while RQS autos can feel more generic or require more coaxing. Quick Thoughts on Your Observations Brothers Grimm (Montel Iced Tea, Bubbles Blueberry F4, etc.): These are clearly the stars in your current setup. The strong smell, unique leaf morphology, and overall vigor in small pots show they're expressing well under your conditions. They reward careful growing with quality that feels special — resin, flavor complexity, and effects that fit your low-dose, functional style better than most commercial lines. Your homemade cross (Gelato 44 × Bubbles Blueberry F4 pollen = "Blueberry Knockout"): Nice work on your first intentional cross-pollination! Getting viable seeds and decent plants from a garage-level cross is a real win. It’s not "pretend breeding" — it’s exactly how many great lines started. The fact that it turned out "pretty nice" is encouraging. However, as you noted, combining a Royal Queen Seeds Gelato 44 (solid but commercial) with Brothers Grimm Bubbles Blueberry F4 (higher-quality, more unique genetics) creates a hybrid that can show the best of both, but also some inconsistency. If the RQS side brings easier growth but less depth, while the Brothers Grimm side brings the special traits, the offspring can be hit-or-miss depending on which phenos you kept. RQS Gelato 44 / Mike Tyson 2.0 vs. Brothers Grimm: Your experience matches what many growers report. RQS lines are generally more "user-friendly" and higher-yielding for beginners or volume grows, but they often lack the resin density, terpene complexity, and unique expressions you get from Brothers Grimm. The Tyson 2.0 collaboration added hype, but in your tents it landed at 7/10 while Brothers Grimm hit "otherworldly." That gap in quality is why you're leaning toward sticking with the professional, boutique genetics going forward. 3/30 11:17PM Gelato 44 & Punch Pie were nice right off the tree the little buds put me right to sleep last night!! The Autos are 7-10 but the Photos are 8/10 4/1 7 AM I did a video starting with black tan GT Julian’s trailer Park boys seed next is Ricky’s hash plant and then it goes over to ice – T and the multicolored one at the front is the combination bubbles blueberry and gelato 44 that I made I called a blueberry knockout 4/1 12pm We're gonna need a bigger TENT!!!💐🌼Humboldt Seed company email today...Im doing this!!! https://californiahempseeds.com/garden-seeds/ 4/5 12:57AM Today 500 years ago Jesus escaped from his stone coffin and began feasting on the blood of local rabbits, and thats the story of Easter. 03/23/2024- Yoooo gang update!!!!! =============================== =============================== SOOO what's brackin gang!?! Did some training and increased light to canopy intensity and man did she really take off! So I'm using frozen water bottles of various sizes to make sure the water in the tank stays cold, trying to keep it between 60 and 66 Fahrenheit so it's not gunna develop unwanted issues t That comes with warm Temps in a dwc setup, using UC Cultured Solutions UC Roots, which is really great for increasing root development and also descaling and cleanliness but yea other than that we letting her really stretch, I AM GOING TO MAKE HER A MOTHER FOR THE NEXT TENT WHICH WILL BE UP IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH, but yea once her clones are rooted in the big tent I'm gunna flip her and she gunna take off!!! Thanks for stopping by guys let's keep it growing!!!! LFG!!!

This week was a little rocky. Two girls on the outer edges are good, but the middle one is drooping and foxtailing already. It's weird because my middle plant was larfy last run as well. I might push her to the corner and let her do her thing with less attention... because I just got a photoperiod runtz clone that's gonna need some space and perhaps its own light. LST seems to be going well for the other two though. Sometimes with autos, it's just a genetic thing. They can be temperamental girls sometimes.

This week went fast. It seemed like she didn't change much but she got some colours and a lot of Frost. Will harvest tomorrow and put in the tent with the other Northern lights to dry for the week.this one was a little slower than the other one and didn't look as fluffy, But it could be the lack of foxtails. This one's still just as big and looks even frostier. Chopped day 78, which is 63? Days of flower. They both smell similar, kinda like sour milk or something.

Overall everything is doing great. The Cream & Cheese CBD+ has medium trichome coverage and medium density. But she is the bushiest with the most amount of sugar leaves down the stalks with the buds. I think I'm about a month away from harvest. I'm not going to rush it, but that's what my guess is for now. Fed MegaCrop and CalMag this week as well as just straight water.

So I harvested the top half of the canopy at day 58 while leaving the bottom half to finish up for another week. Looks like the best yield so far running for my runtz muffin grows. Also dropped the water temp at night to promote colouration of the buds which seems to be working very well.

Day 73 The plants look healthy and deeply green. First buds have appeared — flowering is going great. Over a week ago I removed the base nutrient Simplex Coco. Now running only Power Feeding Bio — mixed it into the coco and topped the substrate with it. Watering with plain water at pH 5.7–6.3, CalMag, and flavor additives at 1–2 ml/L: Simplex Aroma Punch and Taste. Previously these same plants showed nitrogen toxicity — red petioles on the large fan leaves when using Simplex Coco base at 2 ml/L as per the manufacturer's feed chart. On bio nutrients and water, new growth is coming in clean. Some leaves still show minor spots from previous acid overdose. A week ago I ordered basic pH and TDS meters from a local marketplace. Now dialing in the water properly: first bringing TDS to the target level with CalMag, then adjusting pH down with Simplex pH Down. Sometimes as little as 1 ml of acid is enough for a 15-liter bucket. The new auto-irrigation system arrived — in the coming days I'll set up drippers in the substrate and find a 5-liter reservoir for the tank. The speed at which the Durban plants have started flowering in a fully blacked-out tent is impressive. Waiting for some fat buds! 🌿

the plants are pretty low because i only got 1square meter coverage with the leds. The plants will stretch enough to fill the net and put on some weight. The video is from day 5 flowering right after i put the net above them, just enough to push the branches a bit open so the light reaches more bud sites.

I think Zkittlez Auto has two weeks left, including this one. She definitely looks like the ten week pheno and I think she’ll bulk nicely in these last weeks. I loved growing this auto and am so impressed I was able to get these results considering I’m not an auto grower. I’ve already begun flushing and I think she’ll be a nice smooth smoke when she’s done. I’m amazed at how resinous she is. Looking forward to harvesting and then exploring more auto strains.

this week was a lil challenging, had to get out of LST due to the fact that I broke a branch and that just tripped me off and I took off all my ties , apart from that i started giving her bloom products because I noticed a few hairs. I started applying tiresias mist to one of my branches so I can get pollen sacks to produce my own fem seeds, as I plan on crossing my fortune cookies autoflower with my ak48 autoflower and creating a new strain called "DRAKO" AUTOFLOWER well till next update . O.G. Bang Bang !! out.....

She popped up a couple of days ago (check the timelapse) so I'm calling this week 1. I've put lots of perlite in her soil this time around, last couple of grows, as a test, did not have perlite and I noticed the soil was really firm and compact. Also it didn't drain very well at all. Hopefully the addition of perlite will fix this.

Second run with these genetics, I ran her last time in a 5.4 gallon container, I got the grape pheno, higher yield with the first run, but much tighter nugs with this run. This one smells much more earthy/gassey and less grapey. I ended up with just under 26 zips of nugs, 2 zips of Larf which I will turn into canna sugar, and my buddy made a 35 gram brick of bubble from the trim. It should be dry in the next few days and I'll post a video of the squeeze, hoping to get around a zip of rosin which I will split with him since he turned the bubble...Super excited to squeeze some nugs once the cure is done, Ill post vids of them as wel. Next run I'm planning to try and cram 2 plants inside a 5X5, build mainlines, and flip by week 6 or 7....Switching to two 315 W CMH bulbs up top, and LED's on 2 of the sidewalls for supplemental lighting. Looking forward to it, stay safe, blaze on!
