🌸 BlueBerry – Week 4 Flower Update Grower’s Journal | Zamnesia BlueBerry āø» 🌱 The Girls Today Our two BlueBerry ladies are 120 cm tall, strong, elegant, and stretching beautifully into the light. Both are showing spectacular frost coverage already at Week 4. šŸ’Ž What frost means this early: • Frost at this stage is a sign of healthy resin production beginning early. • It points to strong genetics (thank you, Zamnesia) and a well-balanced environment. • More frost now often means denser trichome carpets later, and with BlueBerry, that classic sticky sparkle is already writing its story. āø» šŸ’” Inner Canopy Light – ICL 300 This week, let’s talk about a special piece of gear: the ICL 300 inner canopy light. • Inner Canopy vs. Under Canopy: • Under canopy lights push light upwards from below, filling shadows. • Inner canopy lights like the ICL 300 spread 300° of light inside the plant structure, wrapping the middle and hidden nodes in usable spectrum. • The result: more even growth, healthier lower bud sites, and improved overall stacking. šŸ’” Specs of the ICL 300: • Designed for high penetration into dense canopies. • Emits a balanced spectrum that complements the top LEDs. • Reduces ā€œshadow zonesā€ and helps those mid-layer buds become full players, not just secondary fluff. This week, the ICL 300 is clearly doing its work: the whole canopy feels alive, not just the tops. āø» āœ‚ļø Defoliation – Light Touch I performed a light defoliation: • Removed some fan leaves blocking major bud sites. • Opened the canopy so light (especially from the ICL 300) could penetrate deeper. Minimal stress, just enough to help airflow and light distribution. At this stage, it’s about balance, not stripping, just guiding. āø» šŸ”„ Quick Recap of the Journey So Far From Cannakan germination in pure water → to early soil boosters with Aptus → to steady veg under Future of Grow, ThinkGrow, and Lumatek Zeus LEDs → to smart environment control with TrolMaster + sensors → now flowering strong, stacked, and sparkling. The girls have walked a legendary path already, just like their name. BlueBerry is not just any strain, it’s a classic, a true legend in the world of medicine. And this run is honoring that legacy with beauty and frost. āø» šŸ”® Looking Ahead – Week 5+ What to expect: • Heavier bulking as flowers begin to swell. • More trichome coverage, turning frost into snow. • Stronger terpene release (that nostalgic BlueBerry perfume beginning to show). What not to expect: • No more big vertical growth. Stretch is nearly done, from here, it’s all about flower development. āø» šŸ’¬ Final Thoughts Week 4 is a milestone. The girls stand tall at 120 cm, frosty, thriving, and glowing from top canopy to inner canopy thanks to the ICL 300. Every detail — from careful defoliation to balanced feeding, from genetics to gear, is creating a perfect environment for these legendary BlueBerries to shine. This is only the beginning of their flower story, and they already look breathtaking. šŸ“² Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic. So here’s Week 2 of the Sweet Seeds Gorilla Girl XL Auto’s grow. All in all an easy week but there has been time spent reinforcing a couple of the seedlings because they are so top heavy. I check in on my seedlings at least once a day (oftentimes 2-3 times daily) just to make sure that all equipment is functioning well and temps are stable. Upon looking into the windows of the tent I discovered that the smallest seedling (the one that lost one of it’s cotyledon leaves) was tipped right over. I gently supported her with a homemade splint (a tent peg/pipe cleaner combo- pictured above) and she’s currently standing on her own again. She’s still smaller than the others but surviving, not thriving for now. I used some fresh additional soil to fill in any gaps and pack down around the bases of the other three plants’ stems. Speaking of stems/stalks- the three healthy seedlings have peeling/stretching stalks and are starting to push out their first sets of branches. Other than that, same routine as always- watering every fourth day at 1.4 litres per watering or 0.35 of a litre per plant per day. I will be increasing the water sometime over week three. That’s it for now. Mom’s Tip for Week #2- Don’t Over Water! (when growing in soil of course)… When learning to read your plant’s needs, water is a very important factor to consider. I often notice other growers with tiny seedlings sitting in completely saturated pots of soil. Or read that many other growers don’t believe in placing newly sprouted seedlings into their final containers/pots. Both issues being easily resolved by simply paying close attention to your plant’s body language, it’s grow environment and sticking to a schedule. Cannabis truly thrives and benefits from a wet to almost fully dry watering cycle. From my own personal experience with photosensitive strains grown outside in the summer to growing autoflowers indoors through the fall, winter and spring- all of my Cannabis seems to do best when watered every 4th day like clockwork! This schedule is somewhat subjective of course depending on the environment that you are growing in. Here in Canada, much of our year is cool to cold and the humidity is relatively low. Because of this my plants are not always able to take in moisture from the air through their stomas so they suck up more water from what’s readily available in their pots. In other environments (ex. tropical), you may be able to stretch out this cycle- watering every 5-7 days because your plants are pulling so much water directly from the humidity in the air. And how you water your plants matters too. When starting out with newly sprouted seedlings placed into their final containers- less is more. There is no need to completely soak all of the soil in a 5-7 gallon pot. Simply start with a small amount (0.5-1 litre) directing the water to the base of the plant, working your way outwards in a circular pattern. As you increase the amount of water, I try to work my water outwards- making my circle slightly bigger each time I water until eventually I am soaking the soil surface all the way out to the edges of the pot. This process is gradual, stretched over a period of 4-6 weeks. It will encourage the roots to reach for water and allow your plants the time needed to grow into a heavy dose of H2O. Finally, learning to read your plant’s body language will help you to understand when they need and don’t need water as well as food, more/less light, temperature changes, etc. Healthy, well watered plants are generally light green with leaves slightly turned up towards the light/sun. They will be growing/thickening every day and able to support their own weight even in a very breezy environment. Leaves are soft and supple, not dry and brittle and there are usually no marks or discolouration of any kind on the foliage throughout your grow. Water quality is important too but that’s any entirely different tutorial for another time. Bountiful harvests are very possible by simply tweaking your watering schedule to suit your plants’ ultimate needs.

I just cant believe how big they are. I personally have never had an auto-flower get this big. The tallest one is 61 inches, Most are right around 55 inches and my shortest one is 36 inches. There isn't much I can say about this week. I am feeding my fish 3x per day still Still defoliating as needed They are happy and healthy and going strong

Good week for this lady. I defoliated about 30 leaves on her to make room for the other buds sites that's developing. Is there a such thing as too many bud sites??šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

Full water change. Dropped the ppms down quite substantially. Didn't like the reading I got before I changed the water, ppm's were way to high so I figured the plant wasnt taking up any nutrients. Instead of flushing i figured dropping the ppms would help since I figured the plant was only drinking water. But im not sure jus bro science i guess. My humidity is not very good at all. Feel like I should defoliate more leafs but not sure if it will cause plant to herm since its so late.

Well well well thanks to all of you for reading my diary and supporting that project šŸ˜Ž This was the longest run I've been through for a while, but it was worth it. I was rewarded with 168g of top shelf quality buds, while she was under a 110W SMD (LM301B) board. Only 110W... I was amazed by these boards by InvisibleSunLed, and very happy of my investment. Samsung diodes are game-changers and it will get even better in a near future, what an exciting time for us modern growers! If you plan to buy some SMD boards, make sure the driver is dimmable, the light intensity can be so strong at its maximum, you could burn your plants (or your eyes). I started the board at 50% (~55W) and slowly increased the wattage as I was seeing a happy plant enjoying her indoor sun. I was also very surprised by the cheap IKEA bulbs, some ingeneers at IKEA must be growing pot, these tiny things do really work! I wouldn't try to flower anything with these, but it was perfect for the first weeks of my THC-Bomb. I made some canna-butter using the sugar leaves from the trim and some decarboxylated buds, and cooked a big cake. That s*** was strong as hell, I was unable to do anything for 24 hours 😭 If you're not used to edibles, start with small pieces rather than a big cake, I learned it the hard way 😜 I will now work on gaining knowledge about nutrient absorption in coco, improving my photo skills (must get a new camera..), and I will also look for a better way to produce timelapses. Shout-out to the brands who made this possible: šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ Bomb Seeds (breeder) šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ Invisible Sun Led (lights) šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Greenleaf Nutrients (nutrients) šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ Air-Pot (pots) šŸ‡øšŸ‡Ŗ IKEA šŸ˜‚ (lights) I enjoyed sharing this experience with you, stay tuned for some other grow report, and happy growing to all šŸ‘Š

Week 8 of flower is in the books and this show is quickly coming to an end. I said last week we had about 7-10 days and I was spot on at the 10 day mark. I was only wrong about the order. The cheese is ready to chop before the rest and the gorilla cookies, cherry Bomb and lemon haze will follow in due course. The cheese is a beast and it’ll take a little time to get it all run through the bowl trimmer. At least the big one goes first. Her tallest colas have foxtailed like mar, despite the late supercrop. You can tell where the sweet spot for the light is at about 10ā€ distance from the canopy. Any closer than that and the tails begin to show prominently. It’s a good example of just how close you can get to these fixtures with a little bit of prior experience. It’s been noted for the next runšŸ˜ŽšŸ‘šŸ˜Ž. The res. is on an h2o2 only flush for the remainder until the rest are ready to come down. Not a moment too soon either - the pollen chucking project has stalled out waiting for these girls to finish and now that we’ll have a little extra room, we can start running our cuts in the aerocloner🤟. Not long at all now folks. Thanks for tagging along through all this. Learned a bunch about this system and we’re back to hardware mode to make some serious improvements for the next runšŸ¤™šŸ˜Ž. I love hardware modešŸ˜‰. Background/Repetitive Nonsense The strain line up on this grow is look’n quite saucy 😈. We’ve got 2 FB strains this time around - Gorilla Cookies (seems we always have some GSC cross in the works). Mainly because the colours look stellar and remind me of a sugar breathe we did last year that was šŸ”„. The other FB is their original Cheese strain... because we already smoked all our cheese... and we really like our cheese...šŸ˜‰. Emerald triangle was kind enough to include a freebie of Lemon Haze. Wasn’t really big on the list but we haven’t done a haze strain to write home about yet so worth a gošŸ‘. The last is a Cherry auto from Bomb seeds that we’ve been trying to get to for months. Let’s just hope that she’s not a dud like the last bean. The new digs for this run are courtesy MarsHydrošŸ‘Š. Their 2x4 single grow tent, paired with a shiny new 240w QB courtesy ViparSpectra. These folks were kind enough to discuss a collaboration and as a result, here we are to test out the gear with an inaugural run of autos. Each week, we’ll try to expand on some of the benefits of each, as well as any limiting factors or considerations that need attention when pondering purchase. Already I can say that both are high quality products in terms of overall craftsmanship. MarsHydro 2x4 Grow Tent: Excellent construction in terms of durability. Reinforced stitching on the zippers and corners ensures zero tearing. Conveniently placed screen vents and intake/exhaust ports. The ceiling exhaust port only exists on the right side. Perfect for me but not great if you’re running exhaust from the top on the left side (left side wall port makes up for this however). The aluminum frame is rigid enough to support the weight of the lights and accessories. Once you have some weight in the tent, she’s go’n nowhere and you can assemble and break it down in record time if moving or stashing the grow op. Only limiting factors I’ve noticed is that temp. Control will be an issue for a tent. It just doesn’t have the same insulating ability as a wood cabinet or other permanent enclosed space. No worries, this is offset by a small desktop heater and keeps the environment exactly where desired. The other issue was a production problem - the ceiling vent was accidentally stitched into the corner seams on the assembly line. Again, no real issue - just pulled it out with no damage or fraying to the tent or portšŸ‘. Website link here: https://www.mars-hydro.com/grow-tent/buy-mars-hydro-grow-tent-24x48x70-2-x-4-cabinet-closet-grow-box-upgraded-diamond-1680d-mylar-for-sale ViparSpectra 240w Quantum Board: This thing is sleek and slick in terms of design. Closest comparable to it that I’ve seen would be spiderfarmers line of qbs. They feature the same top-o-the-line components and roughly similar spectrums. Where VS takes the advantage is in the convenience of the dimmer nob which is easily accessible and works great at 50% with no strobingšŸ‘. The heat sink is also larger which contributes to lower temps. That’s not a good thing in my case but beneficial for most folks. I can already say that this will be a great fixture through all stages of growth. Where I know this light will excel will be in the veg. Stage for sure. Dimming function gives seedlings a much better chance of success with the ability to use lower lighting levels early on and the coverage area on a 240w is great. The average grower will find this panel suitable and fitting to their needs in a 2x4 grow space although I’d suggest 2 units if going any larger than that. The total output in this space equates to about 30w/sq.ft. Which is a decent amount of coverage based on power vs. Growprint. Ideal for veg. Certainly but, in flower - I tend to run closer to 50-60w/sq.ft to achieve higher yields. Again, similar fixtures have performed admirably in the past and while this wouldn’t be considered an ā€œentry-levelā€ fixture, I’d recommend that any grower new to the game not skimp on lighting and start with one of these. The price points are a great value for quality LED tech. These days, so there’s little reason to even consider a lesser fixturešŸ‘. I have no detail on limiting factors for this light as yet but have heard that stock branded fixtures don’t necessarily incorporate enough red diodes. I’ve seen no issue myself but confess - I’m no lighting guru.
