Another slow week. I increased light schedule to 13/11. I’m going to slowly lower the time of light until by the time harvest day comes it’ll have a longer dark period. I’m also going to stop feeding the bottle nutrients my soil is moist still so I gotta wait. I’m predicting a couple ounces this grow.

At day 21, the plant is growing extremely bushy with lots of branching. I like a healthy, compact plant, but it is definitely making the LST tricky as there is so much foliage in such a dense space. I am planning on defoliating in the future, but with my LED set up the bottom fan leafs are getting plenty of light so I am going to start slow. Over week 4 my plan is to really flatten the plant out, and get more room for all the branches coming in. If this kind of growth continues for another week or so, there will be a ton of bud sites when it switches to flowering. Day 27: upgraded to new tent.

🌿 Lava Cake – Week 5 (First Week Flower) | Pre-Bloom & Heat Talk 🌿 The Lava Cakes have officially stepped into their flowering tent… though, to be fair, they’re still enjoying a little extra veg time before showing pistils. Both phenos are healthy, lush, and stretching beautifully, clearly ready for the show ahead. ⸻ 📸 Photo Studio Glam We took them out for another studio shoot, bright lights, clean background, and every angle showing off their deep greens and perfect branching. Soon, their beauty will be dressed in flowers, but for now, the leaf structure alone is worthy of the spotlight. ⸻ 🌡️ Current Conditions • Room Temp: 31°C • Humidity: 50.3% • VPD: 2.23 kPa • PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Soil Temp: 25.6°C Yes, the temperature is running hot — AC unit is on the way to lock it back into our ideal zone. ⸻ 💬 Heat in the Grow Room – Risks & Benefits Potential Risks: • Faster substrate drying = more frequent irrigation needed • Higher transpiration rates can stress plants if roots can’t keep up • Slightly increased risk of light stress at high PPFD without proper cooling • Possible reduced terpene retention if sustained into late flower Possible Benefits (short term in veg/pre-flower): • Accelerated metabolism — plants grow and stretch faster • Increased water/nutrient uptake (if well-fed and watered on time) • Can improve CO₂ usage efficiency if levels are high enough Bottom line: As long as they’re hydrated, fed, and ventilated, short bursts of high temp are manageable. My permanent marker plants are looking really interesting! The short and stocky one with the purple leaves is super vibrant. I love that pop of color against the green of the other plants. It's a little different from the taller plant, which has this really cool stacked-up look to it. I'm curious to see if those stacked-up leaves will change color too. The past few weeks have been so beautiful, watching the plants grow and change. It's amazing how something so small and fragile can turn into something so strong and vibrant. Now that they're getting ready to bloom, it feels a little bittersweet. I'm so excited to see the finished product, but I'll definitely miss having them around while they're growing.

Day 98 They doing fine. The slow girl is getting interesting. Her frostiness is changing suddenly and getting thicker in this two days.

Theyve recovered from the heavy defoliation last week. Think ill avoid further defoliation as ive only found mixed opinions of it. Day 31: trained them some more arnthey were sticking out the pot on one side. Tucked away some leaves as well. Day 34: added some coffeground to the soil and tucked away some more leaves. Tied down some more brancjes as well that were sticking way outside the pot. Im afraid the smaller one is stunted as it hasnt grown in weeks. It did sprout 2 days after the other one as i had buried the seed too deep.

This week, I decided to take her structure to the next level by topping a few branches, and let me tell you—she’s loving it. 🌿 The growth is vigorous, and she’s shaping up beautifully to maximize her potential for flowering. Let’s dive into what went down this week and why it’s all so important for her journey. Branch Topping: Building a Strong Framework After recovering beautifully from her initial topping at node 7, it was time to refine her structure further by topping a few branches. For each branch, I left two nodes to ensure strong, healthy growth while encouraging a bushier canopy. Why Top Branches? Topping isn’t just for the main stem—it’s an essential technique for creating an even canopy and increasing yield potential: 1. Encourages Lateral Growth: By removing the top of a branch, the plant redirects its energy into the remaining nodes, encouraging side shoots to grow and fill out. 2. Maximizes Light Penetration: A bushier plant with more branches ensures that all parts of the plant get access to light, reducing shading and improving photosynthesis. 3. Improves Structure: A strong, evenly distributed framework sets the stage for a healthier plant that can support larger buds during flowering. The decision to leave two nodes per topped branch ensures a balance between promoting growth and avoiding unnecessary stress. Tent Conditions: Consistency is Key The room conditions this week have remained steady and perfect for her vegetative stage: • Temperature: Around 18°C—cool but manageable, keeping her growth steady. • Humidity: At 60%, maintaining just the right level to support her root zone and foliage. • Lighting: The Future of Grow (FOG) LED at 200 PPFD continues to provide optimal light for compact, strong growth. i will dim it up soon! These consistent conditions give her the environment she needs to recover quickly from topping and focus on building her structure. Little Stress for me as I see the oldest leaves have a problem. I read a lot on forum and website and it look like it was Septoria. I check everyday but the sickness don't go fast, and I'm about 3 weeks of the cut. I decided to try to manage this with more air circulation by adding a fan. As it goes up I will cut the leaves that are too much impacted by Septoria and will see. Anyway, everything looks fine and better from week to week. Trichomes comes more and more. I begin to be very exited by the smell and the look of the buds.

Week 5: Vegetative Growth Not much has happened this week, but it’s growing steadily and has turned a beautiful, rich green🌱. Since the sun only shines on my balcony until 2 p.m., it’s all the more tragic that it isn’t shining at all right now. 😅 It shouldn’t be long before it enters the flowering phase and hopefully takes a big step forward.🌸⬆️ Two leaves are deformed… and look very interesting 😁.
