Week 8 of flowering!

Very excited to grow my first genetics from sweet seeds, they really sorted me out with some free seeds to check them out!! Week one and they have germinated fine will just keep watering for now.

Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Hey Growers Darkness days are upon us. They’re done and ready to sit for a couple days, then I’ll chop them. Things have gone really well and I’m happy with what I see. I’m thinking this will be a huge haul for a 4x4 tent. The buds are beasts with hard nugs and have that Kush fox tail characteristic. The stink is magical and the trichomes are super gritty. The Cali Kush are so fat they’re laying down in the back. I’m very happy with the results. Happy Growing 🌱

DAY 58 Watered with nutes. 💧 5L (1,3 gallons) The buds which were supercropped are still alive, the side branches celebrate. 😜 The stretch is definitely done. 🐝 Remember in germination week, when I said I would pollinate a bud? I did it.. I put up a blue plastic bag tent and switched off the vents. The pollen was taken out of the freezer 2hrs before, warmed up in a jar with silicate gel. The bud was separated into the tent and the bottom was secured with a clothespin. Wearing a mask, I brushed and dipped the pollen onto the pistils. I used a contouring brush (gentle-cis-men, it's for make up), it has soft hairs and can take up a lot of pollen. After brushing, I covered the hopefully pregnant bud with a DIY newspaper bag (that's why you don't see pics). Sprayed everything including myself with water to kill the sperm in the air, switched on the vents again - next morning, removed the newspaper. Now I think I see no difference, maybe the pollen was dead. 😕 Watered with nematodes because there's an army of fungus gnats in the autoflower tent. 😦 🐛 DAY 61 Watered with nutes. 💧 5L (1,3 gallons) I won't take the plant out of the tent anymore now just to take pics. It's super beautiful, but it's not easy to get it out without harming it, so eff the pics. 😊 This plant!!!11 😛 The leaves already start making a trichome blanket!!! So cool, I can a little bit see how she will look in 3 weeks, this plant is so ultra cool! 💪 SSSC, I need to grow more of their genetics! DAY 62 I think we have a mum here. 😍 The pollinated bud looks banged. Hahaha. Week 2

week 3 flower is going great. I increased my UVA lights to 8 hrs on. Gsc and Blueberry have decent bud-lets already on day 17. OG kush has preflowers. waiting on Blueberry muffin to show pre fowers should be soon. At the end of week 3 GSC and Blueberry are doing the best and starting to get more trichomes. Im waiting on OG kush And Blueberry Muffin to really get going!

It was a beautiful week for the plant. She drank a lot, the flowers are maturing wonderfully. Lots of sun for the end of flowering, I'm going to start giving only water from now on I only use water so as not to destroy the microbial life in the soil and to be able to cultivate again in the same place.

Added a second trellis for additional support since they are starting to pack on more weight. Will update more info later...
