Well, boys and girls and those who don't differentiate, it's Weed Doctor Sam here and I'm about to fail gloriously or succeed by the skin of my teeth. This being my first grow -- of any kind, let alone a hydroponic grow involving (potentially) advanced training techniques -- I fully expect things to go wrong. Hey guys! Thanks for stopping in to check out my babies! This is week 2 of flower (days 8-14). This week things really seemed to take off! 🔥 Plants were happy all week long and seemed to grow almost an 1” per day if not more. Buds are developing nicely, no smell yet but nice to see them stackin’. I cut out anything under the trellis that would end up being popcorn buds so the plants could focus on the main colas. Hoping I’ll just have to pull a few leaves here and there from now on. The New Floraflex drip system has been nice! 💯 It has made watering easier and more automated. Water distribution isn’t perfect but I’m sure they aren’t 100% level either. Plants should stop stretching after this next week and should start putting on some size! Stoked to see what these girls can do in week 3! Day by day break down: Day 8 Cut out some lower growth/ leaves blocking bud sites Day 9 Fed all 6 plants. PH: 6.11, PPM: 1136 Day 10 Plants look great. Let them do their thing. Day 12 Fed al 6 plants. PH: 6.05, PPM: 1264 Day 14 sitting at 29” tall right now. Not so stressed on height being be issue. Thinking they might be around 35-40” tall at the max. Stay tuned for next weeks post to see how much these ladies have thickened up!

Day 40 (7/26) - Haven’t done anything new with the grow other than adjust branches in net when they get longer. I water the plants every 1-2 days and they are each drinking about half a gallon. Water has Calmag and is PHed, other than that that’s all there’s been to it this week. I took off about 5-6 larger leaves blocking the middle of the plants. CP seems to be throwing tons of pistils though. No distinct smell yet but I’m looking forward to seeing crystals. I bought a camera to look at the buds when they are close to filling out to check the trichomes. I’ll start uploading some pictures I take with them soon.

Ascofol (root stimulant) strongly stimulates plant growth using natural hormones, resulting in both plants showing a slight nitrogen deficiency. Day 1 Bloom ( # 1 ) The plants were trimmed before the light was set to a 12/12 cycle. Day 2 Bloom ( # 2 ) Ascofol has a significant effect on the leaf formation of both plants. Day 3 Bloom ( # 3 ) Ascofol has been reduced. The leaves are growing too quickly. ( # 4 ) The plants were trimmed again and inner leaves were removed. ( # 5 ) 6h later, the leaves have repositioned themselves. Day 4 Bloom ( # 6 ) I moved the plants to the bigger tent and light and added my Chili (capsicum annuum) as a neighbor Day 5 Bloom ( # 7 ) I placed the plants on pedestals so that I could put the fans between the pots. ( # 8 ) Short Clip Day 6 Bloom ( # 9 ) The stretch is noticeable, and the plants are also much thirstier. I will now water them twice a day, giving them 2500 ml each time. ( # 10 ) I placed another SCrOG net over the plants and wove in the first branches. The fun begins.

At the start of week 3 she wasn't quite as big as what I would have hoped for but it looks like she is staring to turn it up a notch, for now I will just continue watering when dry. Started LST on day 20. Sorry about lack of photos on day 21.

Week 3

Weekly Update: Highs, Lows, and Care Bears Sep 28: Not much work needed on the solution today except for dialling back the pH from 6.1 down to 5.5. I also cranked the Lumatek up to 50% power. To avoid scorching the tops, I adjusted the light height accordingly, bringing the intensity right up to 500 µmol/m²/s PPFD. Sep 29: I flew a little too close to the sun today. Working with only one functional hand makes delicate training tricky at the best of times. While low-stress training (LST) the branches for the mainlining setup, I got a bit too heavy-handed with the tie-downs without realizing it right away. Sep 30: Well, disaster struck. I opened the tent to find one of the main shoots completely wilted and dangling. In my rush to fix and support it, my clumsy attempt ended up snapping the opposing shoot on the main stem as well! You can see in the photos just how brutal those deep stem tears look right at the node. I managed to secure and tape both shoots back together, but this severe structural damage has set their development back significantly. Time will tell how much recovery is possible over the coming week. Oct 01: Topped up the reservoirs today with roughly 1.5 liters of fresh nutrient solution per bucket. Parameters are sitting rock solid at EC 1.5 mS/cm and pH 5.5. Oct 02: Curiosity got the better of me. I wanted to check on how the damaged shoots were healing and ended up making things worse while trying to "fix" them again. The left side branch seems to be toughing it out, but the right side branch is noticeably stunted now. Other than that, just a tiny pH tweak. Oct 03: Did a light defoliation today, just like the previous two days. Nothing major, just selectively clearing a few fan leaves to expose light to the shaded inner shoots. I’m considering cutting my losses, chopping off the severely stunted branch, and running Plant #1 as a 3-main setup instead. I’ve decided to sleep on it until next week. If it doesn't bounce back, I’ll rotate Plant #1 and push it closer to the tent wall to give Plant #2 the stage because Plant #2 is absolute madness right now, growing exponentially day by day. Oct 04: Continued training and shaping the mains today. On Plant #2, I was already able to top the first two side shoots to establish the target 8 main colas for the mainline. Things remain intense, especially watching how Plant #1 copes with its trauma. I’ve officially placed two Care Bears in the net pot pumice because Plant #1 genuinely needs all the care it can get right now (and I seriously need to stop over-fiddling with it!).

Day 29 fm seed/Week 1 flower: I did some LST/HST to the plants to try to even out the canopy. The light is set to 80% and is creating some good growing conditions. Flower has started and most of the plants are showing little bud clusters and pistils. They are starting to smell already, just mild skunkiness. I say this every time, but there are some super short plants like the skunk and tall lanksters like the Blackberry. There is some stacking on some and mega stretch on others, such is the case when you grow 7 different genetics. It’s all good tho, we’ll train them up. Did some leaf tucking and removed a couple beastly light and site blocking fans. Other than that we’re just gonna watch and see how this plays out. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Happy Growing 🌱

Increased the lights to 50% here. This made the temp in the tent higher. As you can see we have moved to a larger pot. This soil in the new pot is 33% our organic mix and 66% Happy Frog. Still no nutrients needed because of what is in the soil mix.
