Eternity Grow Cup - Week 11 VEG Report This is a pivotal week in our Eternity Grow Cup journey as we wrap up VEG and prepare to transition into FLOWER. Our goal has been to ensure that the plants are thriving and optimized for the next phase. This report will detail everything that took place during this crucial week. Mass Defoliation & Structural Training We began the week with an extensive defoliation session. Every leaf with a stem was removed to clear space for optimal light penetration and airflow. This process was done mostly by hand, clicking them off in the opposite direction of growth, while some stubborn ones were snipped with scissors. By the end, it felt like we had taken out nearly half a kilo of leaves! The room now looks clean, structured, and ready to fill out the ScroggNet. To further enhance the plant structure, branches were attached to the pots, allowing for better horizontal growth. This technique helps maximize canopy exposure and prepares the plants for even light distribution once flowering begins. Defoliation before flowering is a key step as it reduces overcrowding, improves airflow, and sets the plants up for efficient energy use in the next phase. Light Schedule & Adjustments This week, we introduced a subtle but effective light adjustment. While still maintaining an 18-hour light cycle, we initiated a 15-minute delay with the whites, allowing the reds to start first. This gradual shift signals the plants that a change is coming. Similarly, at the end of the light cycle, the whites turn off 15 minutes earlier, leaving the reds on for an extended period. This strategy mimics natural sunrise and sunset, helping the plants transition more smoothly into flowering. Additionally, at the end of the week, we will be implementing 48 hours of darkness before the official flip to flower. This method has worked exceptionally well in past grows, helping plants recognize the transition and encouraging a strong start to flowering. However, it's important to emphasize that this is a personal technique and not a universal rule. Every grower should experiment with different methods to find what works best for their specific environment. Environmental Conditions & Challenges Currently, our temperature is at 27°C with 60% humidity, resulting in a VPD of 1.50. While slightly higher than the ideal for VEG, our CO2 levels are over 1000 ppm, and the light intensity is at 570 PPFD, making it a manageable balance. The solution pH is 5.79 (essentially 5.8), EC is 1.38, and water temperature is 17.7°C. One challenge we are facing is maintaining optimal reservoir temperatures. Currently, it's a bit low at 17.7°C, and we are exploring solutions to raise it slightly. However, the medium temperature sits at 22.2°C, which is a good range. The humidifier is still in use, though it struggles to increase humidity further, so we are working with what we have to keep the VPD in check. ICL-300s Integration The ICL-300 lights are now fully active. Unlike the last grow, where we introduced them later, this time they are on from the start of flowering prep. This adjustment is an experiment to see if the plants respond better to an early introduction. Learning is at the core of this journey, and each grow offers new insights. Whether this proves to be the optimal strategy or not, it will be a valuable lesson for future grows. Another week without fertilizers, flowering seems to have stopped :/ The trichomes seem quite ripe, I'll wait another week and then harvest.

Buds became a little darker as I wanted, the flavors perfume the air.

Gorilla Jealousy F1 has fill in well over the last week. She got her roots pruned today. Along with some lst, and defoliation. She has been growing really well. I will likely move her into my small tent once the photoperiod in there now is done flowering in 3 weeks roughly. My plants have flowered really well in that tent, and environment. Nothing more to report at the moment. Man, it's been a crazy week. These past few days have been brutal – seriously cold with this crazy humidity. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the chills and the way my skin feels all sticky. It's been a struggle, but I'm finally getting on top of things. I think I've figured out a good routine to dry things out around here, so hopefully, I'll be feeling a lot more comfortable soon. My Skunk Apple Runtz plant is finally starting to bounce back. The leaves are getting their color back, and it smells fantastic – all thanks to the Ricky Bobby. It's a shame the plant's shape is a little funky, but honestly, I can live with it if it keeps producing that amazing smell.

Week 11 we done .. Washing machine was fun to grow ...super easy ,always green no stress at all... both phenos really close same bud formation same smell .. pheno 1 more intense and smelly.. Pheno 1 =53gr... top weed! Pheno 2 =57gr... also nice super cheesy!

We've made it to week 3! (10/12/20) I'm very happy with how the girls are going, they have definitely put in a HUGE amount of work over the past 7 days. Plants 3 & 8 are very similar(extremely fat leaves & extra bushy) Plants 1 & 5 are similar (smaller phenos reacting to nutes slightly differently) & Plants 2, 4, 6 & 7 seem to be a cross between the previously mentioned phenos(not too small and not too big/bushy & reacting to nutes fine) Feel free to compare Week 1, 2 & 3 to see the differences. Nutes are staying the same this week, although I will be spacing feedings out a little bit further(18 hours-ish), as well as feeding straight PH'd water once a fortnight. I am contemplating hooking my simple drip-to-waste irrigation system up, although the girls are pretty close to the medium still and the halos sit 5-10cm above the medium, meaning fan leaves would be drooping onto the wet halos, so I'll give it another week and see how they're doing :) Update 11/12/20 - day 22 The girls have beefed up quite a bit over the last 24 hours, I'm really looking forward to seeing a stretch soon :) No feeding today & will water plain ph'd water tomorrow. Update 12/12/20 - day 23 Gave the girls straight ph'd water today with little run off. Veg growth is really starting to boom now, looking forward to seeing where this grow goes! I'm gladly accepting any tips or tricks, as I'm still only a beginner to indoors. Update 13/12/20 - day 24 Girls are looking great today, not much to report. They didn't get a feed or watering today as the medium was still wet after a pure watering yesterday. Update 14/12/20 - day 25 There's been a big increase in growth over the past 24 hours. All the girls besides the 2 smaller phenos look 100% happy, the smaller ones have looked a little weird since day 1(Weird as in colour of the fan leaves look deficient of something, but I'm not sure what. The girls will be getting a full feeding today. There's still no signs of sex but they are feminised seeds. Update 15/12/20 - day 26 Girls are looking happy today. Temps are back to normal after a heat wave in my city(its only going to get hotter from here on out). No feeding/watering today, pots are heavy/wet enough. Started using iphone for photos now, my only lens for my DSLR is useless for most grow related photos. I will upgrade my lens before next grow. I received my new silenced fan today! I couldnt be any happier :) It is a silenced Sigilventus SE-A150J, which I have set-up with a brand new Can-lite carbon filter. I went from a rocket loud eBay fan to a completely silent inline EC fan :D I hope the girls like the silence! Update 16/12/20 - day 27 The girls are continuing to boom! and I'm over the moon about it :D I gave them a full feeding today. I have seen white pistils coming out of calyx's on most of the girls, so i'm hoping they start to flower soon. I'm having weird issues with my humidity, it seems to be fine at 40-50% for 70% of the day, but the remaing 30% of the day it goes up to 60-65%. Temps stay the same in the 5x5 tent, I have ducted air-con in the house which is on most of the day. Thanks for viewing! :)
