Hi Growmies, Luckily she has made full recovery, in the tank below and up top :). OST of the root growth I. Observing, I would attribute to the combination of orca, rhizotonic and cannazym. Mainly the orca though ;). I will minimum give her 1–2 more weeks max until I flip her, as it feels like she should have a fairly short flowering phase. Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. This strain grows beautifully in my opinion! It has a short, stocky, thick stem and grows medium/short and wide in stature. It sports beautiful purple buds that smell IDENTICAL to blueberry muffins! These plants were an easy grow and are very disease/pest resistant. One of my favorites for sure!

This week has been great! All the babies are looking nice an healthy an most of all happy ! This week we started hitting it with nutrients and we went by General Hydroponics feeding chart for seedlings , using 1/4 tsp of Rapid Start, 3tsp CaliMagic, 1/4 tsp Flora Gro , 1/4 tsp Flora Micro , and 1/4 tsp FloraBloom mixed in pure water PHd at 6.5 ! It’s been a little while since I’ve grown Photoperiods, been doing Autoflowers for a bit so y’all please bare with me, I promise it’s gonna be fire!! Die letzte Woche war sehr gemischt. Glücklicherweise waren die letzten drei Tage (ein Abgesang auf den Sommer) sehr sonnig, warm und ausreichend windig, so dass die Shaman trocken geerntet werden konnte. Sie zeigte, wie viele Bäume auch, ein beginnendes Herbstkleid in den Farben des Indian Summers. Einige sehr geringe Schimmelstellen waren vorhanden, hervorgerufen durch mein fehlerhaftes Entblättern. Die Verluste waren jedoch sehr gering. Ich freue mich nun auf die Trocknung und das Curing. Der Rotrim und der Endtrim werden noch einige Stunden in Anspruch nehmen, das ist der Nachteil an großen Outdoor-Pflanzen.😀👌 --- The last week was very mixed. Fortunately, the last three days (a swansong to summer) were very sunny, warm and sufficiently windy so that the Shaman could be harvested dry. Like many trees, it showed the beginnings of autumn in the colours of Indian summer. There were a few very small patches of mould, caused by my incorrect defoliation. However, the losses were very small. I am now looking forward to drying and curing. The rotrim and final trim will take a few more hours, which is the downside of large outdoor plants. 😀👌

Week 15 Coming back from holidays: left the plants 13 days in self sufficiently. -grow spot: greenhouse -Automatic Watering Blumat with 5L supply of water / plant -ventilation: 6 AM to 22 PM = 15 min/h - 22 PM to 6 AM = 15min/2h -companion plants: dill, basil + in front of the greenhouse: lavender, sunflower -insect traps ; artificial (paper glue) and natural : numbers of spiders around -1 manual watering day 7 Really good surprise: all plants look healthy and particularly the Sleepy Joe, growing 40cm higher in 13 days + a good side stretching. No pest or predators around (I will have a meticulous check soon), no signs of dehydration just some dead leaves on the floor causing by heat or the minimum water quantity, proving by the root system around the ‘carrot clay’ (Blumat) cf photo. Pflegeleicht, allerdings muss man den Stretch berücksichtigen! Sonst liefert die Pflanze top Ergebnisse! Es ist definitiv ein starker Sativa Einschlag zu verzeichnen. Denn die Pflanze hätte auch noch 1 bis 2 Wochen an zusätzlicher Zeit stehen bleiben können. Der Trichomcheck war zwar OK, allerdings hätten die Pistolen noch weiter ihre Aorikot Form ausbauen können. Da ich aber einfach noch andere Grows im Background hab und zudem die Ferienzeit vor der Tür steht, war es Zeit. Dennoch generell ist eher eine Blütezeit von 12 bis 13 Wochen (85 bis 90 Tagen) eher die Regel. Dennoch sehr gelungen und unfassbar Aroma reich! Grüne Grüße 💚

Week 10: I loved growing this strain, it smelled so fruity while the buds were on the plant. Towards the end of flowering the buds looked sugar dipped as described on the website. The sap from inside the stems smells like skittles and sugar lol which was a nice surprise! Most pistils are Amber so idk what the THC/CBD ratios are going to be. Il give an estimate once buds are cured for 2 weeks or so! So I’ve managed to get some street weed to compare alongside my own weed and I’ve added the pictures to the harvest so you guys can see them. I tried to pick the best street weed from about 4 varieties so here we go... The street weed is called Wedding Cake, my weed is obviously Smoothie and I suppose what I want to know is how the street weed looks, does it look healthy? Any guesses as to how it was dried or cured if even? The first noticeable thing is that the street weed stems are huge and the sugar leaves seem to be left on the plant to dry too. Although I did leave sugar leaves on this time I feel that it’s not very professional. I have smoked a joint of the wedding cake and it’s not all that great, feel a bit sedated/couch locked but not high or happy if you know what I mean :) but yeah please let me know what you think in the comments :) Curing Update: (1) Been curing for a week and buds are definitely smoking much better now, the taste and burn still isn’t amazing as it needs a few more weeks curing but it’s unique and exotic. It’s very strong when it comes to THC, because it still needs further curing you could smoke a whole joint and think damn that’s still too fresh to get me blazed. By the end of the joint you would be struggling to keep a conversation or stand up, Stoned eyes that even eye drops won’t cure :’D and it’s also a real head high in my opinion, audio/visuals definitely enhanced too, everything is extremely bright, sharp and sounds great! I don’t really care about time of day smoke as i could need something stronger at different times for pain etc but this is definitely a Nighttime smoke, it hits so hard that the best thing you can do is put on some music and close your eyes or watch a movie. An amazing strain for zoning out entirely into some chill music and if you need weed to deal with strong physical or mental pain or sleep problems then I would recommend giving this a go as so far it has been a lifesaver for me. Curing Update: (2) So I think the buds have been curing for just over 2 weeks now and they are looking great and smoking pretty well too. A few more days drying wouldn’t have hurt them but I’m not worried as my Blue Cheese and Pineapple Express harvests are just around the corner! I added some lovely photos and a video to show you guys how it looks And I’m just about to blaze up a joint from the last photo and tell you all how it smokes too... (Lights up joint) Slightly damp on lighting it up although it burns near perfect. Instant hit on the back of the throat with smooth/mango flavors. I feel a bit dizzy quite quickly and want to sit down and listen to music after a few tokes followed by a relaxed or mellow feeling. I’m about halfway through the joint now and I’m pretty stoned. Definitely sweet and smooth like blueberry also sherbet sweet like mango! I’m almost finished my joint now and I suppose to sum up I’d say that it’s much like the blueberry smoothness you expect mixed with the strength from a well grown mango. I felt that the effects are great if your in a nice comfortable setting, get relaxed, be creative, watch a movie or even get ready to sleep. I would avoid anything that requires a lot of effort. Personally I’ve had minimal problems with getting to sleep and with anxiety while taking this throughout the day and would highly recommend it! It’s the best thing I’ve grown so far :) Il leave a final review on the buds in 2 weeks, until then take care and happy growing! Curing Update (3) - 05/03/20 So I’ve finished the smoothie buds and I have to say they were great. The only negative was it’s my first time drying buds with trim and they could have done with a little longer drying. I made some canna butter from 3G of trim and 2.25g of bud. I made ginger cupcakes with salted caramel icing. You guys can see it cause I added a photo. I can only eat 2 per day with a heavy tolerance - sedative cupcakes hahah. And check out my blue cheese and Pineapple Express diaries as it’s harvest time!

Stretch is coming to an end and bud sites are forming nicely across all 16 tops. This Landrace Afghani has shown strong vigor and resilience, even through high summer temperatures. The canopy remains even, airflow is excellent, and flower production is accelerating every day. The foundation is set now it’s time for the buds to pack on weight and resin. Looking forward to seeing what this old-school Afghan lady can do.

One plant is significantly struggling , brown spots on leaves, it is the tallest and all the spots are towards the top but it is growing a lot slower , no colour change on any of the buds , I have one picture of her. I don’t know what the problem could be all the other girls are fine and have been given the same feeding and watering schedule. However the other girls are very happy from here out it is plain PHed water till I chop. Couldn’t be more excited yet nervous ✌️🏻💚

The stressful events from the previous week not only affected me but also my lovely ladies. 😔 Leggy seedlings that I´m now trying to compensate with extra care and detail to settings in my setup in order to mitigate the damage/stress! 😉 But the gals seem to fighting for a chance. ✊
