5th week of flower, the plant has stopped growing and focused on the buds. Both plants look nice, I’m hoping the 3 gallon plant gets fatter before the end though.

Deliciously grow, without problems - super fine and satisfactory result. Unfortunately I forgot to weigh it wet, but I will update with the dry weight as soon as it is dry - but a good bet is that it has been about 200+ grams wet and there will probably be about 50 grams dry. I have added some videos from before and after, the top cola was cut - and some close up photos 😘 Update: 42 grams in total 😍 She taste so damn nice, super great !!

This plant is just Grrreat!! She’s a hungry girl though. Hard to keep up with her appetite. She is really smelling quite wonderful at this point. Very citrusy and sweet!! 😎

Week 02 Introduction This week has been a bit of a struggle. Had my first experience dealing with slime and brown algae. But I think adding enzymes and increasing the beneficial bacteria helped to fix the issue. Also experienced nutrient burn for the first time. My nutrient solution strength got as high as 671 PPMs. So backed it down to about 430 PPMs during the end-of-week reservoir change. Also cut Hydroguard (expired?), CaliMagic, and Superthrive from this grow. Now she's still stunted, but is starting to recover. Hopefully... [START OF WEEK 02] Day 01 - Monday - 08/10/20 - Total Days: 008 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Still looks a bit yellow. But getting larger! --- Solution strength was at 248 PPMs. --- Just topped off with a bit of distilled water --- PH went up to 6.1 so PH'd down to 5.8 --- Ran the top feed for a bit to wet the hydroton. - [2130]: She's looking even more yellow now. --- Even the new leaves are really yellow. --- Decided to add more base nutes. --- Added 4ml of Sensi A --- Added 4ml of Sensi B --- Now at about --- Solution Strength went up to 304 PPM. --- PH was at 6, --- Also raised the water level a bit more. --- I really hope it's a nutrient deficiency and not an over-watering issue. --- Please live! Day 02 - Tuesday - 08/11/20 - Total Days: 009 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looking less droopy. But still yellow. --- Decided to do a reservoir change. --- 4.5gal of distilled water --- 8ml of Sensi Grow A --- 8ml of Sensi Grow B --- 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- 4ml of B-52 --- 4ml of CaliMagic --- 4ml of Hydroguard --- 4 drops of Superthrive --- PH'd down to 5.8 --- Solution strength: 302 PPM --- Since I didn't want to risk over-watering the rockwool, I did not to do a top feed, may do one tonight after the sleep cycle (lights are still set to go off at 10am and back on at 4pm). --- As I was doing a reservoir change, I noticed that the tubes and bucket were a bit slimy. Didn't really stink or anything. Is this normal? Maybe due to the Hydroguard and Voodoo Juice? --- I hope she gets better soon! - [2215]: Getting larger! But still yellow. --- Also can see a root growing through the net pot! Tiny little thing but it's there! Will have to start dropping water once more appear. --- After looking over a few DWC diaries using AN nutes, seems like my solution strength is still too low. Most around this stage average around 500 PPMs with about 4ml per gallon. --- Top fed for a minute to wet the top of the hydroton. --- Solution strength went down to 263 PPM. --- Added 8ml more of Sensi A --- Added 8ml more of Sensi B --- Now base nutes are at 16ml for 4.5 gal of water. --- PPMs went up to 411. --- Still lower than 500 PPMs, but that's okay. --- PH was at 6. Not sure if I should adjust PH using AN nutes. So going to not ajdust unless PH goes above 6.1. Day 03 - Wednesday - 08/12/20 - Total Days: 010 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looks like more root growth! --- She still looks yellow. But leaves are perky. --- PH was at 6.2 so lowered down to 5.8. --- Solution strength was at 394 PPMs --- Since roots are still growing, I decide to lower the water level a bit. Now water level is a bit below the net pot. - [2200]: Root is getting longer! --- Slime is returning. Not sure why. --- Solution strength: 357 PPMs --- PH: 6.1 --- Decided to add an enzyme along with more beneficial bacteria to hopefully cure the slime. --- Added 16ml of Sensizym --- Added 5ml of Hydroguard --- Added 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- New solution strength: 430 PPMs --- New PH: 6.1 --- Top fed for a minute. --- This slimy residue is really freaking me out! I hope the added enzymes will help eliminate the slime. --- Going to do a full reservoir sterilization/nutrient change over the weekend. Please survive until then girl! Day 04 - Thursday - 08/13/20 - Total Days: 011 ----------------------------------- - [0930]: I think the enzymes worked! There is little to no slime now! --- Although I think the root was also dissolved in the process. It's now just a little stub sticking just below the net pot. The enzyme is also suppose to dissolved dead roots too but guess that root was too weak? Not sure what happened there. But I think the slime is cured! --- Solution strength went down to 395 PPMs. Decided to add more base nutrients. --- Added 8ml of Sensi A --- Added 8ml of Sensi B --- Added 4ml of B-52 --- Solution strength went up to 598 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.1 --- As long as the PH is between 5.5 and 6.3, I'm not going to use PH Up or Down. But still will monitor PH levels. - [1715]: Checked up on her after her nap and shes looking alive but stunted. But no slime! --- Decided to add some sugars to help maintain the enzymes and beneficial bacteria. --- Solution strength was at 587 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.2 --- Added 8ml of Bud Candy --- Solution strength went up to 671 PPMs. --- PH also went up to 6.3 --- Lowered water level a bit to hopefully promote more root growth. --- Top fed for a minute. --- She is getting bigger, but still looks yellow. Day 05 - Friday - 08/14/20 - Total Days: 012 ----------------------------------- - [0915]: Leaves look a little burnt on the tips. Still no slime. --- Going to back off on the PPMs to hopefully fix the nutrient toxicity. --- Solution strength was at 632 PPMs --- PH was at 6.3 --- Added/Removed water until PPMs were at 536. --- PH was still at 6.3 --- Raised water up a bit, then top fed for a minute. - [2200]: Looking better. Still yellow though. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 6.5 --- Added PH down. --- New solution strength: 518 PPMs --- New PH: 5.2 --- PH was kind of high. So decided to PH down. Had to use quite a bit to bring it down. But eventually got it to drop down to 5.3. A little low, but so far, the PH has always gone up so wanted to start it really low. --- Ran the top feed for a minute to re-saturate the top of the hydroton. Day 06 - Saturday - 08/15/20 - Total Days: 013 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: She looks stunted. leaves are still yellow. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 5.6 --- Top fed for a minute. --- Not sure what to do at this point. Going to do another reservoir change soon. Hoping she lives until then. - [2145]: Looking pretty much the same. --- A bit of slime has returned. Since I've been diluting the nutrient solution, the enzyme ratio has dropped. So I guess this is expected. --- Also noticed that slime build up was on the air-stones. Never really checked the stones so not sure how long that has been there. Looks brown too, which can't be good. --- Going to do an H202 sterilization of the system (minus the net pot) tomorrow so did not add anything. --- Lowered the water level to below the net pot. --- Then top fed for a minute. Day 07 - Sunday - 08/16/20 - Total Days: 014 ----------------------------------- - [0900]: STERILIZATION DAY! --- Decided to skip today's night cycle for a deep clean. --- I'm hoping that skipping a night cycle won't be too stressful. --- Temporarily moved her to a new bucket. --- Used about a half of gallon of straight distilled water to flush out the net pot. --- Drained the system and wiped up all the brown sludge. Also removed the air stones and cleaned up all the goo. --- Filled the system with 2 gallons of distilled water and at least 30ml of food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% strength). --- Yea its a lot, but since I'm not going to sterilize the system overnight, I went with a really high doseage. Basically I kept adding until I started to see little bubbles start to form. --- Then I ran the water pump. - [0915]: Boiled the air stones in tap water for about 10 min. Then reconnected them to the airlines. --- I let the air stones and hose soak in the sterilization solution for about 5 minutes so the peroxide can absorb into the stones. Then ran the air stone to help mix and agitate the solution. --- Occasionally, I'd repeat the process of turning the air pump off for a few minutes to let the stones soak. - [1000]: Covered the top two row of holes of the net pot with some aluminum tape. Hopefully this solves the light leaking in through the hydroton. - [1200]: Used an old toothbrush and scrubbed the pump clean. Then drained the system. --- Refilled with more distilled water and peroxide. Again added a lot. --- Ran system again to sterilize even more. - [1530]: Drained the system and refilled with distilled water to rinse. --- Ran the system for a few minutes, then drained and rinsed again. --- Did this a few more times over about an hour. - [1630]: Added 4 gallons of fresh distilled water. --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow A --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow B --- Added 12ml of B-52 --- Added 16ml of Voodoo Juice --- Added 16ml Sensizym --- Solution strength was at 430 PPMs --- PH was at 5.6 --- I was going to add Hydroguard, but I think the bottle is expired. Since 2017 or 2018!? I think Hydroguard is good for up to 2 years from the date on the bottle or 6 months after opening. So not going to use from now on. I wonder if this could have contributed to the slime build up. --- Also removed the CaliMagic and Superthrive too. Going to only use AN products to eliminate the chance of incompatible nutrients. --- Placed her back in the bucket and top fed for a minute. --- Here's hoping for the best. Going to let it ride until morning! Please feel better! [END OF WEEK 02]

first day of week 7, pheno #1 stretched very little with short internode looking compact while pheno #2 stretched amazingly with lots of young buds. I slightly increase the dose of bloom and quantity of water.being bushy plants a good defoliation did them good.See you next week, bless and protect ✋🌳

Loved it!! Relatively easy going!! Couple off moments but not worth getting into but the smell!!! It’s not super strong where you smell it throughout the house when you burp the jars but she has a very (what I could only reference as sour, sweet and lemony, almost like that lemon pledge your mom use to clean the house with) smell but I love it!!!

6/16 Fed today. Left out the microbe and kangaroots due to time. I'm adding the kelp me kelp you as well but it was a rush this morning. Didn't get spinosid applied last night. I found a spittle bug in it's bubbles and killed the nymph. I noticed random little munch's so that makes me think the spinosid is a good idea. Plants seem very happy. 6/17 Transplanted the rooted cuttings of 9lb kush and NYC Skunk Ape into a gallon of happy frog. From there they'll go in either a five gallon bucket, 10 gallon bag or right in the bag. Considering how late it is I think the two ten gallon grow bags would be perfect. The two Black Widow/GSC seeds kinda dried out but got transplanted to two red solo cups of happy frog. It will be interesting to see which strains do well in this harsh climate. Didn't get the spinosid sprayed and I'm unsure of I will tonight. Looks like rain. I'd rather apply when sky is clear. I love being able to do this. Every morning I start my day off right. Great boost to mental health! Internet is fucking up so I'm having difficulty loading pictures. Rrrrr 6/20 Took a bunch of pictures but forgot to add them and my internet connection is to slow to upload right now. I haven't had to water this crop only a couple times this year. Temperature shot down to 45 last night. I noticed some more WPM on the interior of some of the GDPs. Also leaf hopper damage and random munches from other bugs. I did some interior defoliation and spot treated with k bicarb and dawn. I'll attempt to upload pictures again. Black widow/GSC has germinated. 6/21 Watered the girls with the hose. Was super pressed for time so I couldn't pH the water. The hose looks like it's about 6.5 but I know it's a little more alkaline. Oh well it's what I've always used. I should've fed but again...crisis. girls look wonderful. I took a bunch of great photos but I used the app to take them and the didn't upload. On the plus side I got some older ones up. I haven't spent nearly the amount of time I usually do on my garden. However I will say the k bicarb has been stellar. Even using it as spot treatment. 6/22 FED 3 gallons today. Kept the same schedule but added a 1/4 tsp microbe brew and a 1/4 tsp kangaroots. Didn't have the kelp with me so I left it out. PM seems to be controlled pretty well. A few interior leaves were defoliated but overall things look great. Especially considering the 35-40 degree temperature swing we've been seeing. I don't really see any insect damage. I'll wait until the temps settle before I do a foliar spray.

💜 Purple Haze by Zamnesia – Pheno A Week 8 | Let Her Shine Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure! Eight weeks into flowering, Purple Haze Pheno A continues to prove that sometimes the best thing a grower can do is simply step back and let the plant speak. And this girl has plenty to say. She's green. She's vigorous. She's developing beautiful flowers. She's covered in healthy foliage. And honestly? I have very little to complain about. While some of the other girls in this room have recently received defoliation to improve light penetration and airflow, Purple Haze Pheno A is taking a different path. For now, I'm leaving her exactly as she is. She's leafy, yes. But she's also healthy. And there's an important difference. So this week, rather than forcing her into a particular shape, I'm going to let her shine exactly as she wants to. 🌱 One Room. One Method. Twelve Different Personalities If this is your first visit to the diary, welcome! The entire 8×8 Adventure is built around one fascinating experiment: 12 different genetics. One environment. One growing method. One nutritional strategy. Every seed in this room was placed directly under a 12/12 light schedule from seed. There was no long traditional vegetative period. Instead, the plants were given the opportunity to reveal their genetic personalities under the same conditions from the very beginning. The same: • Plagron nutrition • Future of Grow Black Series lighting • TrolMaster environmental control • AutoPot irrigation • Soil • Temperature • Humidity • Light schedule • General care There are no favourites. No special feeding. No individual environmental adjustments. The variables are intentionally kept as consistent as possible. The biggest variable left in the equation is genetics. And Purple Haze Pheno A is showing us a personality that is becoming increasingly easy to recognize. 💜 Purple Haze Is Finding Her Rhythm Some phenotypes announce themselves immediately. Others take time. Purple Haze Pheno A feels like the second type. She hasn't been the tallest girl in the room. She hasn't been the fastest. She hasn't needed to dominate the canopy. Instead, she's quietly developed into one of those plants that becomes more impressive every time you look at her. The colour alone is beautiful. Her foliage has that deep, rich green that immediately catches the eye. The leaves remain large and well developed, with strong petioles and excellent overall structure. And then you look underneath that foliage... …and the flowers are there. Lots of them. Healthy flowering sites developing throughout the plant, with increasingly defined bud structure and plenty of visible resin production. She's not screaming for attention. She's simply doing her job. And doing it beautifully. 🌸 Week 8 — What Is Actually Happening? This is an interesting point in the flowering cycle. By Week 8, we're no longer looking at the early formation of flowers. The plant has already made that transition. Now the focus increasingly shifts toward flower maturation, calyx development, resin production and overall bud density. The plant is still photosynthesizing aggressively. Those large fan leaves are still important energy-producing organs. The flowers continue developing. The calyxes continue swelling. Resin production becomes increasingly obvious. And the plant gradually begins moving from building the structure of the flowers toward finishing and ripening them. But there's an important distinction here. Week 8 does NOT automatically mean "harvest soon." A calendar tells us how long the plant has been flowering. It doesn't tell us exactly when the plant is finished. Different genetics mature at different speeds. Different phenotypes within the same genetic line can also mature differently. That's exactly why we're watching the plant rather than simply counting weeks. 🍃 And What Week 8 Is NOT Week 8 also doesn't automatically mean: "Remove all the leaves." This is something I think is worth documenting because this girl provides a perfect example. There is a tendency to think that once flowering reaches the later stages, a plant should automatically be stripped down. But defoliation is a tool, not a flowering requirement. If a leaf is healthy, photosynthetically active and contributing to the plant, its size alone isn't a reason to remove it. Purple Haze Pheno A is certainly leafy. But look at her. The flowers are developing. The foliage is healthy. The plant is not showing obvious signs that it is struggling under its own canopy. So why interfere? For now, I'm choosing not to. 🌿 Let Her Be This is probably the biggest lesson from this week's update. Not every plant needs the same intervention. Some of the girls in the 8×8 Adventure have benefited from defoliation. Purple Haze Pheno A isn't one of them—at least not yet. Her natural architecture is working. She's producing flowers throughout the plant. She's maintaining excellent colour. She's maintaining healthy foliage. And most importantly, she doesn't look like a plant asking me to solve a problem. So I'm not going to create one. I'll continue monitoring airflow, humidity, light penetration and the development of the lower flowering sites. If the plant gives me a reason to intervene, I'll respond. But until then... she gets to be herself. 💡 The Light Reaches More Than Just the Top The addition of the Lumiflora under-canopy lighting continues to make this experiment particularly interesting. Traditional top lighting naturally gives the upper canopy the greatest photon exposure. As plants develop, the lower portions can receive considerably less usable light. The under-canopy lighting gives those lower areas another source of illumination. And this is exactly where I want to observe rather than assume. Will the lower flowers continue developing strongly? Will flower density become more uniform throughout the plant? Will the additional light allow me to maintain more foliage without compromising the lower canopy? These are the questions that make this project so interesting. We're not simply trying to produce a harvest. We're observing how different phenotypes respond to the same ecosystem. And Purple Haze Pheno A is giving us another opportunity to learn. 💧 Feeding This Week The nutritional strategy remains consistent with the flowering program. This week's feeding includes: • Terra Bloom – 2.2 ml/L • Power Buds – 1 ml/L • Green Sensation – 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L • pH Plus – 0.03 ml/L as required • Lemon Kick – 0.03 ml/L as required The goal at this stage isn't simply to push more and more nutrition. It's about maintaining a balanced environment where the plant can continue performing without unnecessary stress. Purple Haze Pheno A is responding beautifully to the current strategy. Her foliage remains strong. Her flowers continue developing. And visually, she is telling me that she's comfortable. That's exactly what I want to see. 🌡️ The Environment Consistency remains one of the strongest foundations of this entire project. Current conditions: • Flower Week: 8 • Height: 120 cm • Light Schedule: 12/12 • Day Temperature: 29°C • Night Temperature: 25°C • Relative Humidity: 60% • pH: 6.0 • EC: 2.0 mS/cm • Solution Temperature: 22°C • Substrate Temperature: 21°C • CO₂: 639 ppm • Pot Size: 15 L • Watering: 1.2 L per plant / 24h One of the things I particularly enjoy about this project is that these numbers aren't being adjusted specifically for Purple Haze. She is living inside the same ecosystem as the other phenotypes. And she's responding beautifully. 📸 A Closer Look at Purple Haze The photographs this week really tell the story. The wide shots show a plant with a strong natural structure and a considerable amount of healthy foliage. The closer photographs reveal something even more interesting. Her flowers are becoming increasingly defined. The resin coverage is becoming more obvious. Pistils are beginning to transition in colour while fresh white pistils continue appearing across the flowers. And those sugar leaves are already carrying an impressive layer of trichomes. This is one of those plants where you can look at a photograph and immediately understand why I keep saying: She's beautiful. Not because she's the biggest. Not because she's the tallest. Not because she has been aggressively trained. Simply because everything appears to be working together. 💚 The Beauty of Not Interfering There's a strange discipline involved in growing plants. Sometimes we think we're supposed to constantly do something. Trim something. Tie something. Remove something. Change something. Adjust something. But growing also teaches you when not to touch the plant. Purple Haze Pheno A is currently giving me that lesson. She's telling me: "I'm good." So I'm listening. I'm going to continue observing her canopy, her flowers, her environment and her overall health. If she needs something, I'll respond. If she doesn't... I'll let her shine. 🔮 Looking Ahead The coming weeks should become increasingly interesting. Flower development will continue. The calyxes should continue swelling. Resin production should become even more apparent. And eventually, the conversation will shift from building flowers toward determining when those flowers are actually mature. But I'm not going to rush that process. We're going to watch the plant. We're going to watch the flowers. We're going to watch the trichomes when the time comes. And we're going to let Purple Haze Pheno A tell us when she's ready. For now, she's still working. And she's doing a beautiful job. 💜 Let Her Shine Week 8 has given me something I really appreciate about phenotype hunting. Not every beautiful plant needs to be manipulated into looking beautiful. Sometimes the genetics already know what they're doing. Purple Haze Pheno A has developed into a lush, healthy and increasingly impressive plant. She's leafy. She's vigorous. She's green. She's producing flowers beautifully. And right now, I don't see a reason to change that. While some of her sisters have gone through defoliation, this girl gets to remain in her natural state for a little longer. Because this isn't about making every plant look identical. It's about discovering what each phenotype wants to become. And Purple Haze Pheno A? She's becoming something very special. So for now... No unnecessary intervention. No stripping just because the calendar says Week 8. No trying to force her into someone else's shape. Just observation. Patience. And appreciation.
