Another Defoliation at the end of stretch this week for the Northern and she's now in full bud mode at end of Week 8. 3-4 left I think before the chop and she's just a happy monster. Buds forming nicely on't Chemdawg despite a bit of Nutrient Burn on some of the leaves. Skipped a feed last week and replaced with Molasses only just to help her fight off the excess 2nd Chemdawg looks like she will bud from head to toe a fairly straight forward week for all the girls but started to stink and show their flowers nicely. I started hitting them pretty hard with the nutrients this week and topped every one I could find. Might’ve fimmed one. I did a little early LST on them the whole week because the system I’m using grows woody stalks and if you wait too long you’ll never get a bend on them. They all more than doubled in size and technically this is week 3 day one of veg since they were put into the feeding system. I plan to get them another 8” taller with their new multiple tops and then place the scrog net over them. At this rate I’m guessing two weeks or a little more and they’ll be ready for the 12/12 flip.

This week I harvested these two Quebec Black Bud, it was really a great experience. Its unique appearance and these colors charm us from start to finish. Calm in vegetation but surprises us in flowering. I can't wait to see the final product 😇 Harvest : Pheno #1 day 56 flowering 119 total Pheno #2 day 60 flowering 123 total Training : They have received my hand manipulation since day 8 and this every day to force them to grow bigger and stronger until the addition of the scrog. I started my base again on a manifold. For now I'm having fun like that, let's see later 😁 I'll leave you with these beautiful photos and come back to you later. After drying and curing I realize how the color is an intense purple almost black, The genetics are not called Quebec black bud for nothing. the buds are really compact, I know that with the auto pot system I give myself a chance that they will be denser but I believe that hard training leaves its mark.

The guys and gals over at the fastbuds team have created some great strains. This plant was super Hardy and took a beating with the weather that we have been having outdoors this year .She was Hardy against most things except the cold that just stopped her growth in its tracks and made the tricohmes frost up pretty fast . I love the colour in the plant and would like to try this again outdoors in cold and summer . Day 64 she’s so heavy that I have to have her on hangers. She didn’t get watered yesterday so she is throwing a hissy fit but she’s already perked back up. I’m excited to have her get chopped down and get her jarred up.

I guess I first have to extend a big thank you to James and the folks at RQS. The genetics of their “Northern Light” did not disappoint and this was a no fuss grow across all categories. This will be the only time you hear me refer to Northern Lights in the singular. It’s kinda like calling a “pickerel” a “walleye” - you just don’t do that up here😉. She took well to training, showed no signs of lockout or deficiency, and we were at the top limits of botanicare’s recommended feeding schedule the whole time. I’d call this typical NL - the scent wasn’t overly powerful, she grew somewhat squat and while I’m actually very surprised at the final weigh (thought it would be much less), the whole grow was typical of the strain in my experience. Possibly her biggest limiting factor was simply space constraints. The photos pretty obviously demonstrate that she got really crowded out by the neighbouring kush and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she’d have done a little better with some more room. That said, what isn’t “typical” are the effects. RQS touts this as a cup winner and I can see why. Had the opportunity to sample a little and WHOA! She Hits with a lasting, cerebral and euphoric effect that starts as a light, happy high. Not a crippling or dulling effect at all. Just everything you’d expect from a well rounded strain in general. Perfect. I almost wanna describe it as a classic sativa but I’ve been smoking nothing but a pure indica for so many months now that anything different is gonna feel that way 😂. Thank Christ for some new stash diversity: 1:! Many, many thanks to all those who cared to comment, suggest or converse on this one. It’s been a pleasure hearing from everyone and I did what I could to keep ‘er interesting : 1:. sound week on the soil. this grow is really lovely. starting to see some promising bud sites. I think i might trim too much but i want the buds to get the light. topped them and they recovered very fast. still yet to see some purple. dont want to mess with pH just yet

Well these things that I put may have helped me out with the LST factor that was needed to be done.. They how ever did also quite a lot of damage on the leafs unless you have lots of patience on your hands they'll work just fine 😁🌿 left the 5 one out if it (🔺zkittlez🔻) as i snapped both nodes and am just gna wait for her to recover unfortunately.... The perks of trying new shiz out 🤣.. The same plants just went into flower 💮

I realized there may have been a bit of a light leak in the late morning. I taped everything up more. In the future I want to maintain better reflective integrity on the inside of the tent. Everything looks good. The buds are still growing a little taller and filling out. The CBD Blue Shark is super frosty. It's actually absurd. Orange hairs are coming out in all plants. I was hoping to be able to keep the exhaust window open overnight to let the overnight temps drop 10 degrees to encourage the purples in the WC genetics, but it's too humid now to have the window open without the grow light on. Otherwise the rh goes up to 70% overnight and it's not worth the risk. Next year I'll flip earlier when it's still colder and drier out for the harvest window. This flowering period has been really cool. I've really been noticing the process of flowering. The calyxes open up and turn into pistils and sugar leaves, and more keep appearing and popping every day. It's awesome. March 04 watered again with straight water. They're finally drinking more than once a week! The pistils seem more red today than yesterday. I got a $30 micro camera to check trichromes, they all seem clear for now (there is some glare in the pics). No amber for now at least. March 05 found some amber trichromes March 06 lots of leaves are going yellow. We're definitely in the home stretch. March 06 I've been a little worried about the size of the colas. There's not much sticking out past the canopy. I've also noticed a bunch of new leaves that have started popping out and I was a little worried that the buds were foxtailing or herming. I've had temps go up to 30 a couple times in the morning before I open the window. But it seems that the buds are filling out more and getting fatter, not just foxtailing, and I think they're getting ready for one last push, not just getting full of leaves for no reason. It changes a lot every day. Tomorrow is the 23rd week of the grow. I switched the lights on a Thursday so this Thursday will mark 8 weeks of flowering time and the beginning of my harvest window (8-9 weeks for both strains).

I've been pretty sick so keeping up with pictures and diaries have not been in the forefront of my mind. However!!!! I just have to show you guys these ladies!!! They amaze me! The one I transplanted has taken off! Thank you fastbuds for the opportunity!!

Dutch Passion Shaman Eine aufregende und intensive Woche liegt hinter uns! Lange lasse ich die beiden nicht mehr stehen, Nebeltau und sehr hohe Luftfeuchte haben beiden Pflanzen etwas zugesetzt. Das tägliche Absuchen ist nun unerlässlich, ich finde regelmäßig neue Stellen an Blütenstielen, die sich im späteren Verlauf zu Fäulnis entwickeln würden. Die betroffenen Stellen befinden sich dort, wo ich während der Regenperiode entlaubt habe. So habe ich den Verdacht, dass ich die Blätter zu nahe am Stiel geschnitten habe. Denn dort, wo etwas mehr Blattstiel stehen blieb, sind die Stengel weiterhin gesund. Insgesamt empfinde ich die beiden als sehr robust und widerstandsfähig, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass dieser Sommer und Herbst immer wieder feucht bis nass war. Dennoch sollte man in dieser letzten Phase wachsam bleiben und die Pflanzen wirklich gründlich absuchen. So blieb der Verlust durch Blütenfäule sehr gering. Mit Hilfe einer Taschenlampe zum Ausleuchten von schattigen Bereichen, etwas Aufmerksamkeit und Liebe zu den schönen Pflanzen, werde ich ein sehr zufrieden stellendes Ergebnis in der Trockenkammer aufhängen können. Der Duft der beiden Shamaninnen hat sich intensiviert. Sie sind noch einmal deutlich frostiger geworden und schön ölig-harzig. Nachdem ich bereits Probeblüten getrocknet und vaporisiert habe, sowie mehrmals einen starken Cannabistee aus den Blüten gebrüht und getrunken habe, bin ich mir sicher, dass ich nun jederzeit beruhigt ernten und eine ausgewogene Wirkung erwarten kann. Es ist ein klares aktivierende Sativa High, dass mich fröhlich und kommunikativ stimmt aber nie laut wird, selbst bei sehr hoher Dosierung im Tee. Die Wirkung setzt jeweils langsam ein. Auf ein fröhliches Gähnen folgt ein Hallo-Wach-Kick und ein langanhaltendes High, dass mich sanft zurückkommen lässt. Danke für‘s vorbeischauen und das Interesse an meinen Shamaninnen. 💚

Only 1 feeding this week no watering, I will water orange today pot drying out quicker than banana. I've done some light defoiliation on lower branches of both plants.
