Week 8 Veg – Go Big or Go Home! 🌱💪 Hey, Grow Fam! 🌿 What an intense week it’s been in the grow room! This was one of those “go big or go home” moments, and I decided to take it to the extreme. I’m holding off on flipping to flower for just one more week because the plants are filling up the space beautifully—I can’t help but push things to their limits and see just how much these ladies can give! 😎✨ This week was all about maximizing growth and creating the best canopy I can. I did a light defoliation, just here and there to open things up a bit, and then came the bending—LOTS of bending. 🌱 I’m working hard to create an even canopy, though with all these different genetics, we’ll see how close I get! 🤞 Regardless, I’m giving it my all, and I’m super pumped to see how everything will respond in the next stage. The final touch this week? I ended it with a bold 36 hours of darkness to prepare for the big flip next week—flower mode, here we come! 🌸 What Went Down This Week: 1. Canopy Work – Bending and training all over the place to try and keep things even. It’s a real challenge with different genetics, but the payoff is going to be worth it! 2. Defoliation – Just a little bit of leaf removal here and there to help with airflow and light penetration, prepping them for that final veg stretch. 3. 36 Hours of Darkness – Closed out the week with a full day and a half of darkness. The 36 hours of darkness is a technique I like to use to help signal to the plants that it’s time to transition from veg to flower. 🌒 By giving them an extended dark period, I’m mimicking the natural shift from summer to fall, when daylight hours start to shorten. This kick-starts the plants’ flowering hormones (phytochrome), helping them shift into flower mode more smoothly and quickly. In my experience, this method helps speed up the flip, reduces early flowering stress, and often leads to a more uniform bloom across the canopy. It’s like giving the plants a little nudge to let them know, “Hey, it’s time to bloom!” 🌸 This technique is especially useful for growers like me who want to maximize the efficiency and performance of their plants. 😊 4. This week i started flushing. The thricoms are all cloudy with some amber. Due that its an outdoor grow and they day is shorter the plant is finishing slower than usuall. The smell from this purple punch Autoflower is amazing and i am very happy with density of the buds. Hoping that in the next 10 days the plant will be done and ready for harvest.

day 26 of flower, gorgeous plant very unique leaf structure, and tall as hell, the experiment of topping on say 4 of flower seems to be paying off, i’m very happy with it at this height. looks like the beginning of anthocyanin breakdown are occuring in the fan leaves

Spent some time just defoliating the girls last night, tried not to go too far but you get lost😂 Also did some Pruning/Lollipoping to Increase that airflow 💨 Happy so far! Stinking now

Day 21 - she got repotted into her 38 Litre airpot. She is not as close to the lights as I'd like, but saying that I wouldn't mind her to stretch a little bit.

Had to move gigabud outside because the other 2 have started flowering and she was only getting bigger😂

These girls grew up really fast. My order of Recharge came in and I introduced that on day 10. I think I did a gram of Recharge mixed into 1L of PH'd water and then that was split between the two plants. On day 12 I decided that because the FCxFS was already starting to lean to one side I would go ahead and just LST it over. I'd never done LST before and ended up using way too much wire and probably did more damage than good. On day 13 I removed the hack job I did and instead used the wire for supporting the main stem. This is what I should have done from the start. Lesson learned.

I sowed cantaloupe bag seeds directly to flower box drip irrigation.I transplanted my white widow seedling to flower box. So the new line up this run is cantaloupe, blueberry, Girl Scout cookies and white widow. Cantaloupe seeds sprouted and i will keep the most vigorous grower.bb is throwing pistils.GSC is producing first set of true leaves. At the end of week 2 cantaloupe has first leaves so does white widow. My Gsc has first set of true leaves and my blueberry is putting out pistils and trichs.Things are going well

She is a great strain thus far. My tent has been getting a bit hotter in the summer. Just a bit of issue though. Can't wait to try this one. Such a sweet candy smell.

Harvest day for this girl!!! Only 50g dry but it could have been much worse had I not scraped 2" of the depleted soil she was in and replaced with fresh compost in week 3. This has actually been a turning point in my growing and learning. She is a fab high sativa strain. Very frosty.

April 22 Sooo, i decided that the leaves that were getting no light and that the plant was naturally killing had to be removed as well as some initial ramifications that hadnt grown so much and were not forming any buds. I ended using powerzyme the other day and I will be using fast food minerals (BAC) mixed with some foliar alg-a-mic and see how they feel about it. The smaller ones seem to be streching so much more in this vegetation stage that i am afraid i will have 5 monsters in a couple of weeks. I know that there is a lot of discussion about pruning autos or not, i personally decided to go with a SOG though initially i was thinking more of a SCROG, but things got a little out of hand and i think it was the perfect moment, 3 weeks more to flower and recover from the stress. I will update in a couple of days. April 24 2 days after the defoliation the plants seem to be doing all right, buds are progressively getting bigger (or at least that´s my impression) and they are still getting taller, I honestly wasn´t expecting this size from an autoflowering strain, I´m very pleased with this LSDs. To get them through all this stress and since I had been only adding enzimes to the water for about 10 days, I started again with BACs Fast Food minerals yesterday (2,5ml/L though BAC says 4) and they loved it. Some of them were starting to have their leaves a little bit sad and they are now just reaching as much as they can to the light as you can appreciate in the video. End of the week Buds just seem to be getting bigger and i think they are no longer growing taller, they seem happy. Watering them every 2 days with 1 liter of water - food - water... and they seem to be fine with nutrients for the moment.

Runtz from Zamnesia is came along from her tiny shape. Got a great clone and is also catching up. She's on about week 14 (the mother & clone on week 4). I have had to change things up a bit. The test with/out Green Sensation is still going forward. But, I'll be using Xpert Nutrients (for both mother & clone). Momma will go on Green Sensation after pre flower. The clone will be flipped on week 6-7. I won't make the contest. But, it'll still be a good test that I'm determined to finish. Giving results to show the clear difference with/out Green Sensation. I've started the mother on Master Bloom from Xpert and Co. The clone has started a light Master Grow Feed (200ppm) with Master root. Mother 70 days old Clone: 10-12 days old. Both are thriving. The mother got a little ph issues during the flip process but is fully undercontrol & has provided a good base for the test to continue without risk tainting the end results. Clone will be transferred to a 9L pot. And fed more or less exactly as the mother. (I've also got a spare clone) I'll be keeping in the veg state for the summer. As if I get really nice results from this pheno. I really want to make sure I have it again & again. Runtz been one if my favourite strains.
