~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2202 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... 🤪 But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 12/1- I soaked both seeds for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged roughly 24 hours later. 12/3- Today their tap roots were about 1/2 to 3/4" so at 11 am I transferred them into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph using a tine off of a plastic fork as a 'mini trowel' to make a hole in the pellet and to gently cover the tap root, leaving only the seed head slightly exposed. This method accomplishes most of the initial work the seed has to do by eliminating having to orientate itself, push it's root down and head up. By 10pm the #1 seed had her cotyledon leaves opened and the #2 isn't far behind! 12/5- Well this is the full Day One for the #2 FBT #2202 and the second day for her sister! I'll keep them in the covered/heated Jiffy tray until I see their roots beginning to emerge from the peat pellet, then I'll transfer them gently into their respective fabric pots. The #1 will be going into the 4g Gronest pot from FastBuds and the #2 will reside in a 3g pot by Wraxly, which I'm trying out for the first time. 12/7- Yesterday I checked the #1 tester and she had roots starting to emerge from her pellet so I transferred her into her 4g Gronest pot. After making a hole in the medium for the peat pellet, I coated the entire surface with Xtreme Gardening Mycos then placed the pellet in the hole and planted her in. Lastly, I watered her in with about 4oz of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of FishShit added which was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 75℉ after which I placed a humidome over her for 24hrs to ensure that the humidity stays constant. The #2 tester is doing great and I'm confident that she should be ready to transfer into her fabric pot in the next couple of days! 😎💚 Thank you for checking out my passion in life! Today is the last day, tomorrow i will harvest her. I removed all large fanleaves and took some pre-harvest pictures. 23-2 Today is harvest day! I left the buds on the branches and hang them to dry. Temperature: 18.1°c to 19.9°c Humidity: 57% to 72% 24-2 Temperature: 17°c to 18.8°c Humidity: 56% to 64% 25-2 Temperature: 16.8°c to 17.9°c Humidity: 57% to 69% 26-2 Temperature: 16.2°c to 18.1°c Humidity: 56% to 61% 27-2 Temperature: 16.2°c to 17.5°c Humidity: 55% to 61% 28-2 Temperature: 16.3°c to 17.6°c Humidity: 57% to 64% 29-2 No info. 1-3 Temperature: 17.8°c to 18.7°c Humidity: 56% to 61% 2-3 No info. 3-3 Temperature: 16.5°c to 20.3°c Humidity: 46% to 62% After 8/9 days of drying the buds are dry enough, so lets start trimming! The buds are pretty airy and foxtaily, but very resinous, she smells good, but i think the buds are a bit overdried. End results: Trim: 18.12 Gram. Popcorn buds: 37,11 Gram. Normal Buds: 70,98 Gram. Total buds: 108,09 Grams. I will post the progress of me making bubble hash in this diary very soon, so if you are interested make sure to keep an eye out!

the Germination process was very easy and had no problems to sprout in paper towel. After she first touched water it needed 5 day to get root and open shell with her tiny white baby leaf and next I put it in to the pot in coco coir it was already watered and i just put the cup on top next day she was fully green and strong stem with little hairs <3

The room smells like sweet citrus. This grow was pretty easy but I was expecting a higher yield. Overall she was a good plant! Now time to fire up the curing chamber.

This is the last week 💀 There are less pictures than usual but nothing special happened except the yellowing of the plants due to the nutrients cut. Wait for the "Harvest" week for the final photo shoot 😎

I've been lollipopping the plant. Things are looking and smelling good. I'm trying to maximize the vertical space of my grow room and I think I'm almost at the right height. I've been keeping the light going at 75% (of 1000w) instead of 50%, which apparently I can get away with in the winter.

After 11 weeks, I harvested the plants in two stages. It went faster than I thought, and the yields are impressive. The yields are much better for the four plants that I was able to keep shorter in height. They developed more dense, firm buds than the taller four plants, which is why I harvested them a few days later. I only watered with water during the last week and lowered the light to 600-700 ppfd. I'm drying now at 20 degrees Celsius and 55-60% relative humidity until the first stems snap, then the herb goes into hygrometer jars for curing. This time I trimmed wet because there were some really thick branches, and I didn't want to risk mold. All in all, it looks like a good harvest. I misjudged the height with this strain. I thought I could keep the plants relatively short by using topping and LST (low-stress training). This only worked for half of them. One of the plants was about 3 cm below the light, which is really suboptimal because I have no space above. I might have chosen a smaller pot size and swapped the plants' positions more often. I was also a bit too cautious with defoliation and pruning, but this was planned as an experiment to grow bushier plants, which didn't make me as happy in my application. Due to the high CO2 content, the cannabis grows exceptionally bushy and leafy. It requires regular pruning. The buds themselves have turned out really well. They are nice and firm, some quite large, and covered with many trichomes. The smell of the strain is less intense than I thought but still very pleasant.

Apple Betty Seedlings 🌱 are doing great! They are looking very healthy and happy. #1 was slow from the get-go but she has been building steam and is doing well. Routine this week was was just checking the humidifier every morning, and spritzing with my spray bottle x2 daily (very small amounts) starting at the base of the plant, but also making sure to get the exterior edges to allow those roots to be searching for water. Changed the light cycle to 18/6 around day 7, and also adjusted my BloomPlus BP 2500 to have 140 watts at the wall. Didn’t lower the light as the increased wattage seemed to slow down the stretch they initially had. Still using my small 250 watt heater behind my intake fan to draw some heat in and keep the tent nice and cozy, even during lights out (about 75-76 *F) By day 14, I started to water with a measuring cup, still using my 1 ml of Sensi Cal/Mag extra. Watering only about 1/4 cup of water all around the pot, and will wait until the soil is dry’ish (the old finger poke) before I start to increase the watering amount gradually. No nutrients yet, but I will be using the Advanced Nutrients- Grow, Micro and Bloom along with the Sensi Cal Mag extra. Happy Gardening 🇨🇦❤️🌱😎💨

She is barely growing taller, which is probably fine, as she's mostly supposed to focus on blossoms by now. We're still feeding according to the full biobizz schedule, even though I am reading more and more often, that we might need to give a lot less.. but at least it doesn't seem to do any harm, so at least for this grow we just keep on following the plan. I am a little bit worried, that the buds are growing to close to each other. Also put the dehumidifier in the room, to keep humidity under control. Update: After getting feedback to our question regarding space between buds, we tried our best to gently bend some branches more towards the sides, as can be seen on the latest pictures I added. Still really dense in some spots, but partially also becauae of thw tight node spacing. We will maybe remove some leaves in these areas, but we do not want to stress her too much at this point.
