Week 6 of flowering 10/23/24 Changed nutrients to fit week 6 Buds are getting even bigger and thicker. Defoliated a little. Noticed a PH of 4.8 in runoff, same as the late stage of flower in my previous grow. After lowering feed EC, CalMag on max strength, flushing with 0.8ec nutes for 3 days in a row, nothing changed and PH stayed the same. Read in a forum thread about constant low PH in the rootzone when growing in coco. Got great info about CEC, water, nutrients and little chemistry from a detailed explanation. Used 120L total for 4 plants in 2 days. 1st day: flushed after lights on, did not water until 2 hours before lights off and flushed again. Runoff PH went up a little, but not to the correct range. 2nd day: flushed after lights on and checked runoff EC + PH, of each plant. Fortunately, PH got corrected to 5.8, and I returned to automatic watering 4 times a day (with 10%-20% runoff). Thoughts: In the last grow, I thought I had a problem because of salts buildup in the media with constantly low PH in late flower. I didn't fully correct the problem till chop day. Same problem here in the same stage of flower without the salt buildup. After reading every forum I could find about the problem, I understood that my bloom nutes were the main problem because of their chemical composition. The coco ability to exchange ions lead to the low PH in the rootzone. It got worse quickly because I did not use any tap water with the feedings, so the PH could swing easily and drastically without resistance. After I looked online for the T.A. feeding chart, I saw they used TriPart Grow till week 7 of flower, the Nitrogen type they are using will up the PH. CocoForCannabis chart that I'm using, has not enough nitrogen to combat the bloom nutes PH down effect in flower. It gets even worse with RO water because there are no minerals that can resist PH down. Now I'm using 30% tap water with rest RO water, T.A. TriPart feeding chart with calmag and silica. Hopefully I have corrected the problem for the rest of the grow. It wasn't easy, because there were lots of variables that worsened the problem quickly. Now I'm checking runoff PH and EC daily. Update on next week :)

Buds are packing on weight pretty good for only being at the end of week 3. I think these buds have potential to get some good size to them by the end of flowering period. I noticed a few days ago my timer stopped working, lights were stuck on. Looks like there's no ill effects yet though despite worrying about them revegging if they were left on for too long. Noticed leaf tips are all nute burned so they are at their maximum for ppm as far as nutrient uptake is concerned. Going to back the ppm off by 250 in the next feeds and continue to observe the leaf tips. Plants are still recovering from a nute lockout that caused a mg deficiency and took away a lot of bottom growth from all 4 plants. Ph is back on track and plants are growing rapidly again. I might switch the lights in the next days. Depending on her growth. Day44: Added some water and moved the camera a little further away. Day45: She felt lonely, so I got her a friend... Theobroma Cacao. New seedling that needs the warmth + humidity. Hopefully surviving winter. Day46: I decided to take some zoomed in stills of her. To show off her beauty. The purpling of the branches really make this lady something special. In some of the shots it might look like her leaves are yellowing, but it's just the angle of the light. You can see on the photo that I took from the top, that all leaves are a healthy dark green. At least I now have proof that she's a lady. She's short and stubby, but I'm not really growing for amount. I just neeed 50g, after all (hehe) Day47: She grew like a demon overnight. I'll check the height tomorrow.

Lots of nice growth this week, though not as much as the Skunk. Added another 2l bottle of sugar/water/brewers yeast to hang over her, like I did with the Skunk. Hopefully it's enough extra C02 to fatten her up a bit. Very sticky but not quiet as loud smelling as the Skunk, also no signs of senescence on her yet but some of the thinner branches are buckling so I had to tie them up. Mites are going ape shit in the soil, video is above. If you grow organic and see these in your soil, it's a good thing as they eat baddies and help to break down nutrients. Fungus gnats are very much under control, I see a few every now and again but the soil microbes/mites keep them at bay.

I am still battling a little magnesium deficiency. Starting to add cal mag in her moisture water between feeds. Likely due to the small Potter she is in. Hopefully will have the rest of that issue resolved now. Also raising the ph a little should help as well. She is growing under the new Spider Farmer G3000 light. I likely will have to transplant to a little bigger small Potter soon. Been using the run off to rinse the substrate I will use. So she won't know anything happened when I do it. Just more room. Basically avoiding a ph difference between coco substrate is plan. Found some leaves showing defiencies, but not a big problem so far. It looks like Mag. defiency. Ph outcome was 6.2 so the ph lockout is not what the problem was. Will see next week if more yellowing will come or not. Plants dont look like there is some serious problem with growing, so all cool.

Steady progress from last weeks update. Although I may have mixed two of the plants up and the one I think is red dragon could actually be Zombie Kush, but I’m sure that’ll show in the next couple of weeks, there are actually 2 Zombie Kush in there, the mix around came at the time of repotting, if a mix around there was, ah the mystery of it all😜 smelling great in there. The purple strawberry really does have an amazing aroma, and the blue fire og has a super stench, I thought it might be a bit more fruity but I’m not complaining. The gorilla Zkittles is just pouring oil, the leaves and buds are covered, it’s been sticky for a while now the smell not so intense. The Zombie Kush are looking great (1 especially but this as aforementioned may be red dragon🙃) The red Dragon is also looking really good and filling up space along the stems with bud, not so much of a show of trichomes as far as this one goes but theyre there🤤 the critical orange punch is also doing well but isn’t that great to look at, I’m hoping as the buds fatten they’ll tighten up a bit. The smell from this one is gorgeous though and no doubt it will make great smoke. April is looking like a good month for flavours🤤🤤🤤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
