Week 2: Light Struggles, First Adjustments & the Patience Test Update: 14.03.25 Good morning, grow fam! Week 2 of my photoperiod journey is running – a mix of challenges and small wins. Here’s a look at the early days of my Blueberry and Durban Poison seedlings. Current Observations: Light Deficiency & Stretching Stems The first days post-germination were intense: The seedlings developed extremely long, thin stems (check the photos!), a clear sign of insufficient light. Since I’m intentionally avoiding extra lighting to save resources, I had to improvise: - Tray Rotation: I rotate the seedling tray multiple times a day to ensure even exposure to the weak March sunlight. - DIY Support: For the most stretched seedlings, a bent wire acts as a crutch to prevent them from collapsing. Interestingly, the tomato and cucumber plants in the same tray show no issues – their stems stay compact. Seems like veggies are better adapted to low-light conditions than cannabis! Nutrients & Alfa Boost: An Experiment Even though my Biobizz Lightmix should provide enough nutrients for the first weeks, I tested a sample of Alfa Boost (freebie from the grow shop) during watering. The product claims to boost roots and stress resistance – perfect for my light-stressed babies. So far, no negative reactions, but no explosive growth either. Slow Growth – No Cause for Concern The plants are growing just millimeters per day, but that’s okay. My focus is on building sturdy, resilient plants, not speed. Once days get longer and sunnier, growth should pick up. They’ll stay indoors until mid-May anyway – plenty of time to bulk up. Next Steps & Tweaks - Transplanting in 1–2 Weeks: Once the first true leaf pairs emerge, they’ll move to small pots with my Biobizz All-Mix blend. - First Topping Soon: Once the plants hit 4–5 nodes, I’ll top them to encourage bushier growth. Week 2 Takeaway: Patience is key! Even in suboptimal conditions, I trust Dutch Passion’s resilient genetics. Fingers crossed for greener progress next week. Another week is complete and 2 of 3 plants have shown to be resilient and are no longer stunted from repeated replanting due to my dog tipping the pots over. The fast berry is way behind schedule and showing to be the weak link out of the bunch. Have not started nutrients yet as the lower leaves are not showing any signs of deficiencies.

Everything good. Cutting down in 5 to 6 days. Did get any colors yet. But tempatures dropping in this last week so if that helps we’ll see. But over all, plants smell amazing. A lot like cake to me. Other people smell a real heavy lemon. I disagree but maybe curated it’ll be more obvious to me. Update* had last flush today. Next two days no lights before I chop. Updated some pictures. Lots of trichomes on these. Out of the three red hot cookie plants all three are pretty different in appearance and pheno. Any guesses on dried and cured weight? 4 plants.

Flipped the lights 6 days ago and already they have grown about 6". This strain will continue to stretch for another 2 weeks before starting to fill with bud sites. Im aiming for a total flowering time of 65-70 days. Ill be watching the stretch and monitoring when the clones are Perfectly mature for harvest.

Grew very well. Very light feeder during veg and early flowering. Very fast, from seed to harvest it took only 72 days, and she was about ready around day 65.

Avevo staccato due cime per pianta delle kmintz. Mantengono quello che sentivo mentre le toccavo. La prima pianta sa di caramelle zkittlez con un fumo che nell aria non è il classico odore di erba ma qualcosa di incensato e mi fa impazzire.La seconda è decisamente più complessa. Zkittlez/frutti di bosco/nocciola/gas. Ho scritto oggi a Ripper Seeds facendo vedere un po di foto e mi hanno detto di tagliarle pure anche se manca qualche giorno rispetto ai 63 dichiarati dalla casa.Ho già ricomprato 5 semi perché le rifarò sicuramente se non il prossimo ciclo quello dopo. Le due Watermelon Zkittlez proseguono la fioritura. A settimana prossima coltivatori 💪🤞

Everything is looking done. Been checking when lights turn on and just before you go out and the trenchomes are looking full and starting to turn amber. So first thing tomorrow there all going to get chopped down. Well that's all for this week Happy growing everyone.

Day 71 Update: Watered both plants with almost a gallon until runoff. Water was just plain pH balanced water. Plant #1 has 5 days left on flush and Plant #2 has 11 days left on flush. Although with my tent filling up, I will probably harvest Plant #1 tomorrow as I don't think 4 days of being in there will make a difference in the end product. Day 72 Update: Harvested Plant #1 today. Plant #2 has 10 days left on flush. Day 74 Update: Watered plant with 3/4gal of pH balanced water until runoff. Plant #2 has 8 days left on flush. Also, added another stake to help support a heavier branch. Day 76 Update: Placed buds from Plant #1 in jars to start curing...maybe a little bit too long drying, but if that's the case I'll toss a boveda pack in. Plant #1's yield was 57.2g or 2oz 1.2g. Plant #2 will be harvested sometime next week and I will update the harvest page as soon as buds are dried and weighed.

Week 5 into flower. When sampling the smell of the fresh bud it has a strong scent of citrus and pine. Under natural lighting the plant is a nice dark green with white sugar hairs looking frosty

No hay shock de trasplante! 😍💥😁 Todas las ramas se han estirado hacia arriba tras el ajuste de LST y se están formando nuevos nodos rápidamente Esta combinación de nutrientes de Lurpe + substrato de PRO-MIX HP es una maravilla 😍 Día 45 (16/07) Ayer tuvimos ola de calor (37 ºC) y han aguantado muy bien! A última hora de la tarde (cuando ya no había sol directo) les apliqué H2O en spray foliarmente para refrescar los estomas Hoy parece que vuelven las temperaturas estándar para esta época del año: 29 - 30 ºC en las horas centrales del día Riego con 1 litro de H20 pH 6,5 Día 46 (17/07) Pequeños ajustes de LST Hay algunas ramas inferiores que no se han formado / estirado mucho Lo más probable es que haga una buena limpieza este domingo, 7 días después del trasplante, para dejar solo los brotes por encima del 4º nudo Día 47 (18/07) Riego con 0,5 litro de H20 pH 6,5 Este domingo (día 50) haré limpieza de partes bajas y tal vez también de nuevo topping en las 4-6 ramas principales 😁 Día 48 (19/07) Día de muchísimo calor con 37 ºC. Hago limpieza del tercio inferior de la planta, de todas las ramas y nudos que no superan la línea del dosel marcada por el 4º nudo (1er topping) También hago topping (2º) a todas las ramas principales La idea es tener 12 ó 14 colas principales para que no se hagan muy altas De paso saco unos cuantos clones de las ramas inferiores eliminadas 😁💥 Para superar el estrés, hago las siguientes aplicaciones y riego: - Riego con 1 Litro de Té Vegetativo de Lurpe Solutions. Great growth so far, for autos these are very uniform I’m impressed compared to other genetics I’ve grown for autos piña takes the cake already. So far very happy with them. 2.5 inches at the start of week 3
