Plants can respond to UV stress by increasing the synthesis of xanthophyll cycle pigments, such as violaxanthin and zeaxanthin, to improve their photoprotective capacity. UV-induced changes in xanthophyll cycle pigments can be linked to a plant's overall tolerance to high radiation stress. The xanthophyll cycle helps protect against photoinhibition, which is especially important when the plant is exposed to high levels of both UV and visible light. High doses of UV radiation can directly damage photosynthetic components, including the proteins, lipids, and pigments in the thylakoid membranes. Exposure to UV radiation can have a mixed effect on the de-epoxidation state (DEPS ratio) of the xanthophyll cycle pigments. In some cases, UV can inhibit the conversion of violaxanthin to zeaxanthin, resulting in a lower DEPS ratio and a reduced capacity for energy dissipation. However, the total pool of xanthophyll cycle pigments may increase, and this enhanced pool size could provide a greater potential for photoprotection despite a lower DEPS ratio. The xanthophyll cycle works alongside other mechanisms, such as the accumulation of flavonoids (UV screens), to protect the plant from UV-induced damage. Blue light repairs 100% UV-induced damage in plants through a process called photoreactivation, which uses a light-dependent enzyme called photolyase. This enzyme uses energy from blue and UV-A light to directly reverse the damaging pyrimidine dimers in the DNA caused by UV-B radiation, a key mechanism for maintaining the plant's genetic integrity. After carbon, light, water, temperature, and nutrients, the limiting factor of a plant's growth is often its own internal factors or the amount of a key ingredient. Chlorophyll concentration is one such factor, as the amount of this pigment limits how much light can be captured for photosynthesis. The plant activates enzymes, including photolyases, to repair DNA damage caused by the UV-B. These repair mechanisms are critical for preventing permanent genetic mutations. While protective measures are activated, a high dose delivered over a short period can cause stress that overwhelms the plant's defenses. Photosynthesis is highly sensitive to UV-B. A high dose can inactivate Photosystem II (PSII), damage thylakoid membranes within the chloroplasts, and reduce chlorophyll content, which lowers the plant's overall photosynthetic capacity. Despite repair mechanisms, high UV-B doses can inflict persistent damage on the plant's DNA. The overproduction of reactive oxygen species can cause oxidative stress, leading to the oxidation of lipids and proteins and disrupting cellular function. I am playing in the enchanted forest. 2023-03-15 The Mimosas were a bit Challenging to Grow, because they produced lots of Leaves. If you give her a Strict trimming and Maybe a SCROG, she provides of that I did not do that this TIme, so i had to remove 3-times lots of Leaves Besides That she has a great TerpeneProfile, like I already menationed Buds were supersticky ( good for Extracts of Rosin) Iam courious to her Taste and Effects

Started the flush cycle with straight water. Plants are very frosty and leaves still retain a fair amount of the green color.

Pretty uneventful week. Plants are doing their thing. I’m done feeding and adding any kind of nutrients for the remainder of the grow. Will be cutting down 1 Apple strudel this week, it’s the plant on the far right with the red/purple coloring on the leaves. Trichomes are cloudy with amber showing up in sugar leaves. Info: Unfortunately, I had to find out that my account is used for fake pages in social media. I am only active here on growdiaries. I am not on facebook instagram twitter etc All accounts except this one are fake. Flowering day 72 since time change to 12/12 h. Hey everyone :-) Today it was harvested. Despite that there was a bit of mold on the top 2 buds, it turned out to be a very nice amount :-). After the lady was in the dark for 48 hours she was trimmed by hand :-). Then the buds were put into the drying tent at 62% humidity, where they now remain for 8-12 days before they are put into the jar to ferment with 62% boveda packs. Of course, the last update will come after the fermentation and I wish you all the best until then. Not bad at all, chopped on day 73. It should / could have gone a little longer, but it was dying. After the lockout it stopped eating and drinking, and with the new light they had to much heat and the tops started drying up. One morning I opened up the tent and felt like the smell was burnt away, I lowered the temps and started flushing until it was smelly again and chopped it. Waiting for the new box to come in.. should take another 10 days max. It's mid-eighth week from the nut plant. About 7-10 days ago, I switched to 12/12 (end of week 6). Sour Blues is very compact, 27 cm tall. A paradise for engravers with compact spaces. In the week since switching, the 12/12 has grown in size, but hasn't tripled in height. I had a mamba plant nearby, and it's grown significantly - 48 cm. Both plants are in the same box from the nut plant; it's interesting to see and compare. At first, I thought it was the small bag (2 liters), but another experiment disproved that assumption. The thing is, I simultaneously planted another IZI seed in a plastic basket with 1.5 liters of coconut for hydroponics on HESI compote. I'm also comparing it with the same variety, but on DWC. The height is the same - 27 cm. But the width: the DWC took up almost the entire 40 x 40 cm box. The sprout in the bag is a 20 x 20 cm square. Both plants are in separate boxes, under the same 40W LED lamp. It looks like I'll be returning to the DWC soon. Now, on the DWC, it drinks exactly one liter per day at 15 liters. The clones have taken root and are now growing without a greenhouse. The fastest one took root within a week, and the others took two or three weeks to take root.

Primera semana de floracion, 7 dias, ciclo de luz 1212 y ya veo los primeros pelitos. Empiezo a agregar pastillas easy to bloom, de Royal Queen a 2/3 de la dosis indicada por el fabricante, al bajar el PH con las pastillas agregro PH + y Ata Clean para mantener limpio el autopot, aunque se lo hecho en el riego a todas las plantas y les va bien. Las he ido doblando las colas mas largas para equilibrarlas en altura, aunque no hizo mucha falta, quite un par de hojas muy grandes y le aplique el ultimo tratamiento de prevencion con jabon fosforico e insecticida natural de aceite de Neem, por cierto, ha venido muy bien, 0 bichos. Quiza le aplique en un par de semanas cola de caballo para prevenir hongos.

It's Day 54 Week 08 0f Flower For My 02 Kombucha Cream by atlasseed . And For My Snow White and SpliffStrawberry by Spliff Seeds Amsterdam . So Today I Started My Day By Checking My Tricomes On My 2 Kombucha Cream. The 02 Where Looking Fully Milky So My 02 Kombucha Cream Got Flushed TODAY with Some Flawless Finish by Advanced Nutrients . The 2 Received 80ml of Flawless Finish mix with 1OGallons Of Water Ph at 6.0. Tomorrow they will get Rinse off with ph balance water. Yesterday I watered my Snow White and SpliffStrawberry Ppm where down to 100ppm. All 4 Plants will get a nice ice bath in a few days. My plan is to check the Tricomes on the SpliffStrawberry In a few more days she was still Milky when I check her yesterday. I will chop her down next weekend. And the rest will get the chop at 30%Amber Tricomes. Happy Growing Growmies 🤘🏻
