It also happens to be the fundamental parameter that's most commonly overlooked. When you think about temperature in the context of a growing environment, you could be referring to the temperature of the air around the plants or you could also be referring to the temperature of nutrient solution or irrigation water, which will affect the root zone temperature. While air temperature is important, for the purposes of this piece, I'll be focusing on root zone temperature and its effect on nutrient uptake and overall plant health. That's because a plant's root system is the location of two essential chemical processes: water and nutrient absorption. In each of these processes, having the correct root zone temperature is paramount for these to occur efficiently. In a nutshell, root zone temperature will affect the rate at which your plants are able to absorb nutrients. If you let your root zone temperature remain unmonitored and uncontrolled, this could lead to disastrous effects on your overall crop yield. Nutrient absorption is largely driven by chemical processes, which take place in your plants' roots; the efficacy of these processes is determined by the temperatures to which those roots are exposed. Once your root zone temperature moves out of its optimal range, the plant will not be able to deliver optimal levels of nutrients and water. Ideally, you should aim to have your nutrient solution or irrigation water temperature at around 18 – 22 °C (65 - 72 °F) to ensure optimal nutrient and water uptake. In addition to having an effect on nutrient absorption, your root zone temperature also affects oxygen availability and solubility. If your water is too warm, you could risk starving your roots of oxygen as warm water cannot hold as much dissolved oxygen as colder water. On the other hand, if your water is too cold, this could shock your plant roots, decrease plant metabolic rates, and stunt plant growth. Peace out.

13/3/26.day 36th from shedding the shell,beginning week of 6. was watered -3 liters water with 12 ml TERRA FLORES. 16/3/26 watered with 5l water, then big bud(2ml/1l). 19/3/26 watered 3l water with 10 ml TERRA FLORES. This time I decided to grow it without training. I think it will be better for this indica-dominant variety. I hope it doesn't lead to supercropping. I apply as much light as possible to prevent it from growing upwards. P.S.this lady looks like a real bear!!!

Hi Gromies, well sometimes I can be my own worst enemy seems I defoliated ( actually I'll blame the apprentice Urban grow cat 😺) He defoliated a little to much, it's hard to get good help these days! Anyway she got a bit of light burn directly under light bulb area. A mix of to much defoliation & I also turned light up to super lumen setting & being lazy I hadn't hooked the extraction fan & ducting up to the light ( it's an air cooled light shade) pump air from outside tent through sealed light shade & exhaust it outside. I hooked that up & raised the light around 20 cm & all is good now, some burnt leaves. She is bouncing back & grown more leaves. It may have slowed Bud development a little! I changed light cycle to 12.5 hours of darkness 11.5 hrs on to try & kick her into gear , fool her into thinking the season is coming to an end with shorter daylight hours. I may increase dark period a little more bit by bit, experiment a little, I've read of other growers who give plants less light around week 6 till harvest. She is getting a faint lemony smell. Lollipoped some of the smaller secondary branches, any tips low down not receiving much light & don't look like they will get much bigger, other than that I'm leaving her alone, probably just try & seperate any close growing colas so we don't get any Bud rot. Auto cinderella jack - Amazing week of growth. There are new nodes exploding from everywhere and its not showing signs of slowing down. They are currently loving the organic nutes and have started showing signs of flowering. Auto critical cheese - this plant has shot up recently. It was planted a week later that the ACJ but is growing some seriously fat fan leaves. Should be a nice yeilder. Peanut butter cookies - this girl is looking pretty sorry for herself. I am intentionally trying to keep her as small as possible so that I can get the autos out before flipping into flower but she is gonna be a beast. Will transplant into a final pot in the next day or so.

1 of the bubba kush & 2 of the gorilla zkittlez are a little behind but over all everything seems to be going good so far! Day 10 update transplanted all the ones in smaller pots to 5 gallon pots except 1 of the bubba Kush it still needs a few more days! Everything else seems to be going great!

Day 78 19/07/24 Friday De-chlorinated tap water today, pH 6 with calmag 7.5ml to 5L water. Updated with short video. I'm waiting on the lime to finish so I can flip these. So this is last week of veg for her, seriously 🤣✌️💚 Great growth and recovery from last week's final topping and lollipop. Can't wait to flip, the smell she is starting to produce already as just the base plant is beautiful. Did all final topping this week on all tops 😁👌 Allowing recovery before flip Day 79 Transition week for flower (Flip Week) 20/07/24 Saturday De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 with calmag today, she took 5L with 1L run off. Applied heavy LST as she won't fit in tent otherwise when finished!! Day 81 22/07/24 Monday Big feed today using the flower nutes now. De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 added nutrients. Checked pH again 6.2 after 20mins. I use advanced nutrients pH perfect for anyone asking. Noticed sex already, she is throwing out female pistils already 🤯 only flipped Friday 19/07/24. Smell is becoming more noticeable now. Glad she is now in the tent. Will update pictures tomorrow 😁✌️💚 Day 82 23/07/24 Tuesday De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 only today, 4L little run off. I ensure a little run off when watering to stop salt build up 👌 Recovery this week is awesome from final topping I did last week. She is already colour changing her tops and showing sex pistils 🙌 It's a girl yo 🙌💚🤣 Picture update Day 84 25/07/24 Thursday Still no water or feed since Tuesday, it has been overcast last two days though so not a lot of energy been used. Pre-flowering stage, stretching phase. Today exactly 14.41 hours of light. Average week's temperatures 80°F High humidity, some stormy days, hew heat wave is coming. Afghan is a massive plant and is almost ready to flower. Branches are very thick and sticky. Great smell. Starting to defoliate the bottom canopy. No issues, no pests, no need 4 food.

Ehi ragazzi scusate il ritardo di un giorno ma ho avuto problemi di famiglia. . Apparte questo la ragazza ha avuto problemi pure lei in quanto io stupidamente mi sono dimenticato per due settimane di somministrare "top Candy" il quale naturalmente era incluso nella scheda nutrizionale , ma io nn ci ho fatto caso e la piantai è andata in carenza Cal/Mag impressionante perché la sua genetica di crescita così esplosiva richiede , a quanto pare , grandi quantità di calcio e magnesio per costruire tutte le pareti cellulari di quel mostro di pianta che sta diventando... Poi nn è finita lì perché io ho sbagliato di nuovo dando il top Candy insieme a tutti gli altri più volte quando ho bagnato e mi è andata di conseguenza in overfert almeno per 3 o 4 giorni se non di più, quindi i tipici segnali che la pianta non cresce come prima etc... Allora cosa faccio?!! Chiedo consiglio ad amici e faccio un lavaggio veloce radici leggero e poi ho aspettato , ora ho iniziato di nuovo nutrienti , con basse dosi, e sembra che stia reiniziando a crescere .. mi dispiace 😞 solo che questo tempo perso di sicuro influirà sul risultato finale e sono triste ... Perché sono errori banali da principianti che hanno fretta o hanno a cui pensare e invece per queste ragazze ci vuole massima dedizione e nessuna distrazione! 😼. Apparte questo la pianta ha reiniziato a crecsere e ha un bellissimo colore viola intenso! È la prima volta nella mia vita che vedo una purple dal vivo ci credete? 🙂🐱😹 Come sempre ringrazio Mars hydro che sta rendendo possibile la crescita di questo mostro e di tutte le altre sorelle che vi farò vedere prossimamente ! The frozen diesel was really slow to transition to flower, but shes moving along now. Gave the girls a flush and a complete water change this week. That was only the second water change they have had this grow. I have just been letting them drink the reservoir almost empty and then filling it up with fresh nutes. The 5 plants are drinking about 4 gallons a day combined. Been running AC when the lights are on and the dehumidifier 24 hours a day. All of the plants are showing some decent trichome production. Running 1/2 tsp maxibloom and 1/8 tsp beastie bloomz per gallon every time I add water. Seems to be keeping everyone happy.
